This is the Premier Festival on the Montana Hi-line offering top notch music, great food and a vast selection of microbrews from Montana and the rest of the country, all included in the ticket price of $40 presale, $45 at the door. Since it began in 2005, the success of the event has exceeded all expectations, and its 7th year is in the review. The Glasgow Area Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture, Inc. would like to say “Thank You” to all of the folks that come out and kick off the summer with us! The Festival has built its reputation primarily on the strength of its line-up in brews and bands, with this year being no exception. This year’s music kicks off at 5 p.m. with Redlight Blue, a blues band hailing from Billings, Mont. with powerful vocals of Lindsey Jacobson. Next on the bill will

Children’s Museum of Northeast Montana

The Children’s Museum of Northeast Montana is an oasis for traveling families looking for fun and adventure. The Museum is a non-profit 501c3 organization that was created in 2005 by local parents and community members with the purpose of providing hands-on educational experiences for northeastern Montana families and schools. What was initially a small 2,500 square foot space is now a 10,000 square foot facility in the downtown Glasgow neighborhood. This new facility offers much more space to provide several hands-on exhibits, classes and summer camps for children ages 1 to 14 years. The exhibits, classes and camps in the Museum cover a wide range of educational topics including science, math, career role-playing, creative arts along with cultural art and music.

The Museum serves a number of rural schools within a six-county radius that travel more than 90 miles to visit the Museum on field-trips. The Museum is open all year long and is a must-see for families traveling through the northeastern corner of Montana. The Valley County Pioneer Museum truly depicts the diverse elements that have marked the history and development of Glasgow and its outlying communities. Even the Titantic and its 100th anniversary timelines are featured in the display of local survivors of that disaster and their subsequent history to the area. The largest Indian collection in the world features an authentic elk-hind tepee, beaded moccasins and garments with quill work of the Assiniboine. The 1920s Country Store complete with on the counter candy jars allow visitors to reminisce about their childhood memories or stories they’ve been told by their elders. A treasure chest of historical artifacts include; CM Russell original donated by friends of the legendary Montana artist; display of Thomas Molesworth rustic furniture; 1890s circa furniture from the original county courthouse; wildlife collection and bar from a legendary front street saloon; rows of photographs and accompanying stories supplemented by collected archival information, easily accessible to researchers; and many more artistically designed displays.
