This year’s home is number 41 in a long line of quality student built homes. With the expertise of HBA members and an advisory board

led by HBA President, Joe Bonini, students coming from multiple classes get a chance to work on a house from start to finish. Students can take courses in Interior Design, residential wiring, Construction, Geometry and Construction, Urban Agriculture, and Metals Manufacturing, knowing that they will be provided with an opportunity to be a part of the House Project. In the interiors program, the students have

an opportunity to earn college credit while they design the interior and the exterior of the house. These students also design the kitchen and then spend the spring semester working in the house doing installations and tile work. The Construction students are responsible for the building of the house and making the design come to life. They work with younger students in the Geometry and Construction program where geometry concepts are put into real life appli-

cation. Electrical students learn about residential wiring and Urban Agriculture students do landscape design and installation. This year our Metals and Manufacturing students contributed to the house by making the stair railing and posts for the patio awning. Our students have enjoyed being able to work alongside trades and industry experts while building this magnificent house. Many of these students have found they are passionate about the construction field and are looking forward to a great career in the future.

Home buyers should always prioritize the items on their checklists, as most will need to compromise on some items to fit within a realistic budget.
