Rocket Camp

Cooking for 1

Elton John’s favorite camp of Summer! Rocket Camp is a great introduction to payloads in model rocketry. Learn about the forces acting on a rocket while in flight, parts of rockets, stages of rocket flight, rocket motors, staging and the physics of motion and aerodynamics. Participants will build two model rockets capable of carrying a payload, and launch them twice. Payloads will include a raw egg and an altimeter. Space is limited. Babysitters Camp

Looking to learn how to be a better babysitter? This camp will teach the safety skills and confidence to be a great babysitter. Participants will learn what to expect from parents and acquire the skills to handle real life situations. This class will cover topics such as handling emergencies or illness, performing First Aid, CPR and how to deal with different age groups.

Kids in the Kitchen

Come make a mess this summer in our kitchen! We provide young chefs the opportunity to find success preparing their favorite dishes. Safety is important during this class and kitchen etiquette is taught to ensure each participant is safe. Each day of class will have its own theme and will build on the lessons learned in the previous week. Bring your creativity and appetite for this exciting class. Campers must be signed in and out daily by their Parent/Guardian.

Oil Painting

Discovering Nutrition

Whether you’ve always wanted to try oil painting, or are a more seasoned painter, join us for a fun and informative class. We will explore different painting techniques and styles while trying our hand at landscapes, florals and animals subjects. Using class demonstrations, we will cover two point perspective, preliminary sketches, and composition to help elevate your painting skills. A supply list will be included for those new to oil painting.

Join us for a nutritional minute. This class will cover a variety of produce, how to cook it, and its nutritional benefits. Some classes will even feature demonstrations and taste testing! We believe in the benefits of combining nutrition and fitness for a healthy lifestyle, therefore we are offering this class at a lower rate.

Table Tennis

Join the Billings Parks and Recreation for Table Tennis this winter at North Park. In partnership with the Yellowstone Table Tennis Association, this program is open play and all skill levels are welcomed. Singles, doubles, practice matches, challenge matches, and friendly matches are all offered with 6 tables available. Please bring your own paddles and wear suitable shoes and attire for a sporting event. Tables and ping pong balls will be provided.

Girl Scout Camp

Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming are partnering with Billings Parks and Recreation to provide our Outdoor Explorers series! When girls spend quality time outdoors and increase their exposure to nature, they thrive physically, emotionally, and intellectually. Each month will feature a theme that aligns with our mission of getting girls outdoors! As outdoor explorers, we will discover the wonders of wildlife, some marvelous machines, and end with some Girl Scout traditions featuring Songs ‘n Smores!
