THE HOLOCAUST HITLER | IMPACT ON THE JEWISH | EFFECTS ON SURVIVORS

Concentration Camp

LAUNCH “Between 1933 and 1945, more than 11 million men, women, and children were murdered in the Holocaust. Approximately six million of these were Jews.” The holocaust started in May 9, 1945 and ended in January 30, 1933. Hitler was the leader of the Nazis. The Nazis were the group of people that carried out the deaths of the Jewish people during the Holocaust. The Holocaust was a hard time for the people of Germany because Hitler was a selfish and cruel leader, six million people of the jewish population were brutally murdered, and the holocaust caused conflicts in other countries.

HITLER Hitler was a selfish and cruel leader. Hitler only wanted to lead alone “Hitler was, first and foremost, determined to command personally.” The overall power rested with him and it extended downward, but he was determined to make himself in full charge. Not to mention that history.com describes him as powerful and infamous. They also say, “His establishment of Adolf Hitler concentration camps to inter Jews and other groups he believed to be a threat to Aryan supremacy resulted in the death of more than 6 million people in the Holocaust.” Hitler had power so he was able to cause so much pain and misfortune. In total, Hitler killed eleven million people. 1

IMPACT ON THE JEWISH

Represents Jewish Deaths

Six million people of the Jewish population were brutally murdered. Jewish people were taken to concentration camps or killing centers where they were most likely gassed or shot. Some starved to death. “German SS and police murdered nearly 2,700,000 Jews in the killing centers either by asphyxiation with poison gas or by shooting.” Soviet civilians, Non-Jewish Polish civilians, Serb civilians, People with disabilities, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Homosexuals were targeted as well. All these people were murdered by Hitler and the Nazis.

EFFECTS ON SURVIVORS The holocaust had permanent effects on the survivors. “After liberation, many Jewish survivors feared to return to their former homes because of the antisemitism (hatred of Jews) that persisted in parts of Europe and the trauma they had suffered. Some who returned home feared for their lives.” It was hard for the survivors to return to their lives, for they would never be the same. They had just experienced something unimaginable. The survivors would never be the same again.

CLOSE The holocaust was a hard time because the survivors would never be the same, hitler was a cruel and selfish leader, and eleven million people died. The holocaust was an awful event that will never be forgotten. It affected so many people and it was a lesson for all of the world, to never let anything like this happen again. In conclusion, the holocaust was an awful for so many people for so many reasons.
