Essay The Civil War is a very important war in American history because it set the slaves in the south free, it stopped the south from breaking off from the union, and it gave African Americans a better life to live. Before The Civil War there were slaves and they were bought by white people to do their work for them so that the white people could sit back and not do any work. The civil war letting the slaves free is an extraordinarily important part of history because it made America how it is today in a way that you might not usually think of. If slavery was still happening today the way that we treat black people would be very different. The slaves were very helpful to the white landowners because they had to buy the slaves but they did not pay the slaves to do their work so if the slaves were let free the white people would be very mad and try to fight against the north. This is what happened and the white people were very mad. The Civil War gave a better live to African Americans because they would be free to live there own life. The African Americans would have a better life because they wouldn’t be treated like a nothing and they would be able to get a paid job. The released slaves would be able

If the civil war never happened the south would of broken of from the union because they wanted to have slavery and the north didn’t. In conclusion the Civil War is one of the most important wars in American history.
