Clear and Concise Technical Instructions
I researched the product manual for the 19� Daewoo color Television (TV) Model: DTQ19V1FC, with remote control. I found that this manual is written for all types of audiences, high tech, low tech, and lay. Its wording was concise and clear, making it easy to understand. The writer has employed as step-by-step procedural format for the presentation, which flows very

well. Each part of the directions deals with a different remote control button and its uses. Negative space has been effectively used through the entire manual. Each of the graphics is relevant to the step process and is properly placed to be useful. A page is set aside for cautions, warnings and hazards with explanation for each of the symbols used to indicate these issues. Each of the menu functions for the TV and their settings are clearly discussed. The parental control setting function was particularly interesting to me. I was unaware of this function being built into television sets. The section for troubleshooting seems to cover any conceivable issue that could arise and was very straightforward. It both identifies the problem and then provides solutions for each one. This format is very useful. This manual fails to include company contact details or instructions.
This contact
information is essential for a consumer product and should be included in the manual. Consumers have to have easy access in case of questions or concerns that are not addressed in the manual itself. Specific instructions should be included for the complaint process. This gives the buyer the sense that the company will be responsive if they buy this product and then have a problem in the future.
