Hot topics in BioEngineering

Using engineered organisms for chemical manufacturing was the initial foundation motivation for Genentech in 1976 in South San Francisco. However, pharmaceutical manufacturing in recombinant bacteria seemingly was the lower hanging fruit. With advances in spatial Omics, synthetic biology, and molecular pathway engineering, the food industry as well as chemical manufacturing are candidate markets to see substantial input from the biotechnology sector with first product launches in 2025. European Biotechnology Magazine will take a closer look at the relevant chassis organisms, the genetics behind but also the construction of plants enabling industrial scale-up of appropriate bioprocesses. Bio- and construction engineers should not miss this opportunity to showcase their latest developments, pipeline and plants in an excellent editorial environment.

Present your expertise

Start-ups and services as well as engineering companies will have the opportunity to present their unique capabilities, know-how/talent and services in this special feature. European Biotechnology Magazine goes out to decision makers throughout the entire European life sciences sector and to lab automation executives in the US and Europe. Take advantage of the journal’s highly relevant readership and grab this opportunity to target your audience!

Topics to be covered

Process development, facility management, modular bioengineering plant construction and services for the food and pharmaceutical sectors, CDMOs, culture media optimisation, strain and pathway engineering, synthetic biology, zero-emission biofuels, long-chain carbohydrates, synthetic circuit-based drug development, metabolic engineering, quality assurance and analytics, genetic and proteomic tools.
