Biocom Big Data Summit 2018 | Call for Speakers Call for Speakers Biocom is seeking companies and speakers to present during rapid fire sessions at the Big Data Summit on November 6th. These rapid fire sessions will be 30 minutes in length and will feature 4 back-to-back interactive use-case studies from life science organizations and best in class technology partners, who have successfully solved challenges with AI and Big Data implementations. We are looking to hear from companies who have novel solutions to present.

Following the rapid fire session, speakers will be invited to participate on a panel discussion facilitated by IBM. The four areas of focus, as it relates to AI and Big Data, are as follows: 1.

About the Conference Biocom and Machine Learning Society invite you to our 3rd Annual Big Data Summit taking place in San Diego on November 6th, 2018. This one-day event is an annual convergence of industry executives, bio-technologists and data scientists dedicated to deploying emerging technologies within the life science industry. Through a blend of illuminating keynotes, dynamic panel discussions, and interactive use-case studies from life science organizations and best in class technology partners, this year’s Summit will focus specifically on the disruptive and transformative role of AI and Deep Learning. Bringing together thought-leaders at the forefront of innovations in artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, computational drug discovery, genomics, and MIoT, this conference is aimed at giving attendees the knowledge, tools and solutions critical to Big Data success within our industry.

Proposed Session Track and Title Concise description for proposed session (up to 200 words) List of participating speakers o All speakers and panelists should be contacted at the time of submission. o Majority of speakers should be from working life sciences companies o One speaker per company per panel. Biocom reserves the right to cancel sessions with multiple speakers from the same company at any time. o Sessions can have anywhere between 1 and 4 participants o Sessions can have no more than 5 slides o 1 speaker designated to participate on IBM Watson panel discussion

We will not accept applications that are deemed to be company or product promotions. For all company promotions, please consider one of our sponsorship packages. For sponsorship information, contact Angela Wieszchowski at angelaw@biocom.org All submissions will also be evaluated on the following criteria: o Practical application(s) for life sciences companies o Topic novelty and timeliness o Overall quality and educational value o Expertise of speakers o Biocom membership status o Biocom membership is not recommended in order to submit a proposal

Submission Deadline Please send us your complete application on or before Tuesday, July 31st, 2018. No session proposals will be accepted past this deadline. All submissions can be sent to Ashleigh Farver at afarver@Biocom.org.

Session Contacts will be notified of the status of their proposal by August 15th, 2018.

Selection Process The conference program is determined by the planning committee of the Big Data Summit, composed of life sciences professionals from Biocom member companies. All sessions are peerreviewed in an open discussion format during committee meetings.

Misc. Submission Details    

Biocom does not provide honoraria, hotel or travel expenses. Biocom does extend a complimentary conference registration to all confirmed speakers.

Biocom reserve the right to adjust session title/content per planning committee recommendations.

Biocom reserve the right to fill one of the speaking slots on any accepted panel.

Biocom reserve the right to cancel any session at any time.
