Le World Travel and Tourism Council ne s’y est pas trompé en récompensant l’organisation sans but lucratif lors des Tourism for Tomorrow Awards 2017 en Thaïlande. Biosphere Expeditions a été un brillant finaliste de la catégorie environnement. Les engagements durables tant au niveau scientifique qu’au niveau éthique en font une association ressource et leader dans les voyages volontaires depuis 1999. S’engager pour la faune et sa préservation Animée passionnément par une équipe de scientifiques chevronnés, dont le président fondateur est le docteur Matthias Hammer, Biosphere Expeditions est reconnue pour son savoir-faire et ses engagements à travers le monde pour la protection et la connaissance de la faune sauvage.

Depuis sa création, l’association permet à des scientifiques renommés ainsi qu’à des amateurs d’aller sur le terrain dans le monde entier. Une initiative reconnue qui permet à tous, sans distinction de diplômes, d’âges, d’acquérir des compétences et de véritables connaissances de terrain sur la vie animale et les écosystèmes. Un volontariat actif, engagé avec des valeurs érigées en bannières et une transparence sur les actions menées, qui font ressortir Biosphere Expeditions dans le microcosme du voyage volontaire.
Volontaires, populations locales et instituts de recherche engagés pour la conservation des espèces. Il faut saluer à juste titre la volonté de l’organisme pour sauvegarder, mais aussi comprendre et aimer le monde animal. Chaque citoyen peut ainsi, durant quelques jours, quelques semaines voire une journée devenir un volontaire pour l’ONG. Chaque mission est encadrée par un ou plusieurs scientifiques locaux ou connaissant très bien le lieu, garantissant l’expertise et le sérieux nécessaires.

L’organisation, totalement indépendante financièrement et moralement, a déjà été récompensée par le trophée de la meilleure organisation de voyage volontaire lors des premiers “Responsible Tourism Awards” de Londres, ou encore par le prix de l’environnement décerné par le ministère du même nom en Allemagne, parmi de nombreux autres trophées mondiaux. Et ce n’est pas le fruit du hasard, Biosphere Expeditions lutte pour être irréprochable : elle a d’ailleurs édité sur son site un “top 10” pour bien choisir son expérience de voyage volontaire et ne pas se laisser abuser par de très nombreux profiteurs. amont avec les locaux, ce sont eux les meilleurs connaisseurs de leurs écosystèmes. Biosphere Expeditions mène aussi un véritable accompagnement scientifique de qualité. Les missions proposées sont toujours pérennes avec un suivi sur plusieurs années. Biosphere Expeditions a permis la création d’aires protégées, en Afrique du Sud, en Allemagne et en Ukraine notamment. Les résultats des travaux sont publiés ainsi que les résultats financiers et l’utilisation de l’argent récolté. Deux tiers des sommes versées par les participants iront directement à l’action directe sur place, c’est-à-dire les rémunérations des conseillers, des cuisiniers locaux des hébergements et bien évidemment les études elles-mêmes. Dans les mois qui suivent, chaque participant recevra un rapport complet de l’expédition, en terme de recherche et sur tous les points de dépenses. Une transparence qui se ressent dans les retours et commentaires des “anciens” volontaires.

Des missions sur tous les continents D’une mission courte d’une journée en Angleterre ou en Australie dans une réserve ou un parc, pour une première approche de la vie sauvage, à des séjours de 7 à 13 jours entre Amazonie, Açores, Thaïlande ou Allemagne où l’immersion sera totale, la diversité est de mise avec Biosphere Expeditions. En équipe réduite, favorisant les échanges, les volontaires travailleront sur la conservation de grandes espèces telles que loups, primates, guépards ou tortues. Pour toutes et tous une expérience unique et forcément marquante.
