PRESSURIZED HOT WORKS Habitat is a tent made of flexible fire retardant panels designed to be enclosed over an area where hot work is performed in other to create an overpressure environment that acts as a barrier between an ignition source (hot work) and an explosive/fire hazard (hydrocarbon). It is portable and inflatable structure designed to facilitate hot work for use in hazardous areas. It is a stand-alone system that does not require tie-in to vessel gas detection or control systems, or costly production shut downs. The fire retardant panels easily fit together to provide a pressurized environment, creating a safe enclosure when there is a requirement for hot work (welding, burning, cutting, grinding etc.) and electrical cabling in potentially hazardous areas.

Hot Taps or Hot Tapping is the ability to safely tie into presurized system, by drilling or cutting, while it is on stream and under pressure. Or it refers to the installation of connections to pipelines while they remain in service without the need of shutdown. Typical fittings like Weldolet, Reinforced Branch or Split Tee. Split Tee often to be used as branch and main pipe has the same diameters.

Onsite Machining services for scheduled maintenance, construction, emergency repairs. In-Situ Machining comes into its own when a workpiece is too large or fixed in application and cannot be moved to a machine shop. Portable machines can be used in some of the most remote situations and produce equally high standards of quality and finish to that of a machine shop. Be it Pipe Cutting, Flange Facing, Milling, Drilling or Boring, the range of portable machines can be mobilised to the location at minimal notice. In on-site machining work, technical specifications and practical demands often vary from job to job, site to site.Where the application is unique or requires special considerations, BIRAWA has the technical expertise and experience to develop customized work procedures, modifying machines and fixtures to suit the job.

metal-stiching
Metal Stiching is one of our services we provide for In-Situ Machining. “Metal Stitching� allows us to permanantly repair a crack or blow-out hole without welding. The cracked metal is replaced with special metal stitching pins that we install by drilling and tapping to draw the sides of the crack together. This results in a continuous row of interlocking stitching pins to create a strong, pressure-tight repair. To restore the casting to its original strength, we install locks across the joint line of the pins by drilling a precision hole pattern with special drill fixtures. After the hole pattern is created, the locks are driven in, pulling the repair togther even tighter.

pwht PWHT is a controlled process in which a material that has been welded is reheated to a temperature below its lower critical transformation temperature, and then it is held at that temperature for a specified amount of time. It is often referred to as being any heat treatment performed after welding; however, within the oil, gas, and petrochemical industries, it has a specific meaning. Industry codes, such as the ASME Pressure Vessel and Piping Codes, often require mandatory performance of PWHT on certain materials to ensure a safe design with optimal mechanical and metallurgical properties.

PRE HEATING
Preheating the steel to be welded slows the cooling rate in the weld area. This may be necessary to avoid cracking of the weld metal or heat affected zone. The need for preheat increases with steel thickness, weld restraint, the carbon/alloy content of the steel, and the diffusible hydrogen of the weld metal.
