weet and feminine, but not overly so—that was
SShelby Ames goal for this upstairs guest bedroom. e San Antonio-based designer recently launched her rst fabric line and used it as the starting point for this space. “I wanted to keep the room soft and feminine yet clean-lined with accents of antiques and modern art,” Shelby says.
Here, the designer introduced “Paisley,” a hand-screened, printed linen in a soft coral and seafoam on a natural linen, e fabric is seen on the beds and draperies. Shelby paired it with Leontine Linen coverlets and shams. Traditional appointments include antiques such as the silver Louis Phillipe mirror and the 19th-century pine French chest.
Between the beds, a custom plaster side table by Alabama craftsman Ben Bludsworth adds a graphic, modern edge, as does the uniquely shaped ceiling xture from Inline
Lighting & Electric Supply.
Accessories including the pair of brass swing-arm lamps, the petite pink lamp, botanical artwork over the beds, and an Oushak rug complement the designer’s debut “Paisley” fabric.
