Nine issues already! WOW! All I can say is THANK YOU and I can barely even contain my gratitude for the awesome support that BodyScape Magazine has received. What started off as an idea as I was recovering from surgery has now turned in to a full on publication dream! It is just proof that if you want something bad enough, and you are relentless in your pursuit of finding the ways to do it correctly, you really CAN achieve anything you set your mind to. By no accident, our cover model Kimberly Castle is living proof of my testimony. She is one of the hardest working people I know. I’ve done five shoots with Kimberly thus far, undoubtedly with more to come. I think after doing five shoots with the same person, you become synced with each other. I know that Kim and I will ALWAYS get the right shots, because that is the goal that we are both after. We are completely like-minded in the way we view how a photo shoot should run...the results speak for themselves. Getting back to the gratitude portion of this letter, I am extremely grateful and blessed to announce fitness icon and personality, Monica Brant as my associate editor of BodyScape Magazine! Having a celebrity like Monica on board with me on this journey has been hugely beneficial (and of course, funwe can’t help that part) in introducing BodyScape Magazine to the likes of former editor-in-chief of OXYGEN MAGAZINE Kerrie Lee Brown, restaurant entrepreneur and fitness personality Mona Muresan, and more! We are just getting started, so fasten your seatbelt and get ready for an AWESOME RIDE! Sure 2020 has dished out some real sludge for all of us. Every single person on the planet has been affected by this tragic year in some way or another. My way out of the mental dread of it all is by praying every day, and thanking God for the blessings that he has bestowed upon my heart. I thank Him for my talents, my health, my mind, a healthy spirit, a wonderful and supportive husband, and a roof over our heads. We have a cute dog and cat too, that I thank him for daily also. We will get through this! If I can leave you with one thought, it is to let nothing stand in your way of achieving your goals. Pray on it- God hears you, I promise! Be a good, kind person. Say hi to others even if they don’t say hi first. Be good to yourself, and it will all come back around. My prayers are with you, and again, thank you for taking a few minutes out of your day to enjoy this wonderful creation of mine, BodyScape Magazine! Warm regards, Sarah Lyons Glabman BodyScape Magazine creator and publisher BodyScapeMag.com

This must be one of my very favorite covers for BodyScape Magazine! This cover screams “GLAMOROUS” from the eye-catching cover image of Kimberly Castle with her curves, to her incredible gown fitting her shape so elegantly, to the pretty fall colors that fit so perfectly with the feel of the design. Great work BodyScape Team! It is truly a work of art and I just love that BodyScape can have such a diversity of looks that capture the essence of the magazine and of course, Sarah’s photography art. This issue brings me back in time to the early 90s, before I was on all of my fitness magazine covers I participated in a few competitions that required a beautiful gown and coaching prior to stepping on stage. My pageant career lasted from 1991-1995 after I received an invitation to compete in the first IFBB Fitness Olympia (1995) which did not have a gown round. Watching our beautiful cover model, Kimberly Castle, has intrigued my interest and maybe one day I will venture back on stage in a pageant! For now, though, I will cheer Kimberly on!!! In the meantime, I will continue my best to inspire as many as I possibly can with great health and wellness information while keeping myself in the best health too. Congrats beautiful Kimberly in all your successes! I know you work hard in everything you do. Your dedication shows up big time, and I can’t wait to hear that you’ve been crowned with the win! Also in this issue are some pretty inspirational ladies featured in the Fab Five spotlight. I had the pleasure of interviewing Kerrie Lee Brown on the Monica Brant show not that long ago, and to hear her speak about her journey really opened my eyes about women and heart-health in particular. Be careful ladies! Sometimes we think we can carry the entire world on our backs, until our body lets us know otherwise. I’ve been a HUGE supporter of a company called Aloe Life for years. Make sure you check out the article written by Aloe Life founder and health educator, Karen Masterson Koch to learn about all of the health benefits that Aloe Life products can do for YOU! You will be amazed when you read about how aloe actually HEALS your body from the inside-out. Continue living radiantly my friends! Stay Fit & Love Life! Monica Brant www.monicabrant.com

Many people make resolutions to exercise more and follow a healthy diet at the beginning of the New Year. But we still live hectic and demanding lives. Each of us is living a day-to-day complex schedule of dynamic needs and wants. It is one thing to say that we will be healthy or join a gym; it is another thing to tackle the health issue. This edition of fitness and travel for BODYSCAPE will focus on the business traveller. As Wellness Ambassador and Coach to the Pullman hotel brand by Accor, I have an intimate knowledge of what the business traveler is looking for and what they need. We will be discussing the healthiest cities in the United States, how to pack light for fitness and travel, quick nutrition ideas and how to get the hotel to work for you. Pullman has branded “Bleisure” the concept of enjoying being the professional your are in every way.
The healthiest places The five healthiest cities in America from lowest to highest are Portland OR, Seattle WA, Scottsdale AZ, Salt Lake City, UT, and San Francisco CA. The East Coast gets a shout out at number 9 Washington DC. Source “Today Show Health and Wellness”. A city’s health is determined by whether the population has worked out in the last 30 days. Be honest, Have you worked out in the last 30 days? Health and wellness is not about being in the gym every day. It can be as simple as going for a walk. If you are traveling to one of these cities in the next year, spend some time looking at what makes them healthy. If you plan on visiting, choose a walking trail in the northwest, climb a hill in San Francisco or go for a river stroll in Washington DC. Healthy travel is not meant to be grueling 5 a.m. runs. It’s as easy as taking the time to enjoy where you are. Health and wellness is not a new concept but it is how we frame it to the traveler. Wellness is incorporating a healthy program as part of the stay. It’s about healthy living as a lifestyle choice. Being healthy enhances radiance, ambition, mental and physical rigor and the ability to endure hard work and stress. Be the better version of you, and show up for your travel trips ready. This concept will change how people perceive you and your professionalism. Each of the cities has captured the inner spirit of business, health and travel.

What to bring Hotels are feverishly trying to tap this market from offering shoes to concierge clothing drop offs. The industry is hearing the cry to be fit and not fall off the wagon on our company travel journeys. Here are some successful hints to pack light and prepare for success. Never leave home without shoes but bring a comfy pair for walking. You can do anything in walking shoes from an elliptical, to a quick hike to a quick weight session. Unless you plan on breaking your best time for the mile, you don’t need to bring the best gear. To that end, a quick change to your workout outfit is perfect. Remember, this is not your home gym or your local program. Just decide to simply keep up with your plan and stay on track. Finally, embrace difference. If there are different machines, enjoy the feeling of change. One T-shirt, pants or shorts and walking shoes can make the difference between a successful business trip or stressful travel.
Make the hotel work for you Remember you are the guest. Call ahead and ask about area gyms, studios and outdoor tracks. Have the front desk or concierge call the facility and look at the schedule before you arrive at your destination. The hotel can have your class schedule, transportation to and from and probably a free week’s worth of sessions for the referral. It can be as easy as changing after the meeting and walking out the front door. This is not five-star service. It is local people advising you on their local community and service providers. Preparing in advance will enhance the trip, keep your health and wellness on track, and you might even learn new fitness tips from other places!
15
A simple workout We all know that business traveling is a different bear. There are dinners, drinks, early mornings and long days. None of these help with wellness. When it comes travel, it is essential to plan ahead. Here are some quick tips you can use in your hotel room.
• 100 dips from a chair, bed or bath tub sets of 10, 20 or 25 • 100 lunges alternating right and left leg forward sets of 25 X 4 • 100 pushup in sets of 10, 20 or 25 depending on your level • 100 air squats in sets of 25 • 100 sit-ups again in sets of 10, 20 or 25
Finish with 10 minutes of preferred stretching. This will raise your heart rate, give your body the endorphins it needs for the rest of the night and prepare you mentally for the next round of business.
16
The “new business traveler This is a new version of the business-branded professional. We want healthy options. We want to be have gyms that work. We want time to stay present in our wellness. Hotels know they need to keep the business professional happy, to provide the best facilities, link with the best gyms, or have an in house experience. When choosing a place to stay, look into the culture and environment wherever your travel takes you. Worst case you could end up with a scheduled week of successful business ventures, new class ideas, a pre-scheduled workout plan from the hotel and new people to talk to. The hotel industry is now laser-focused on how to make you feel better when you leave than when you arrived! Take advantage of the new shift in business traveling.

Glamour looks on the Clean Side! By BodyScape Magazine contributing writer and beauty expert Shelly Mattson
@ bmbshell_tx
Let’s talk glamour makeup… during Covid?? I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to go back to my dress-up girlfriend dinners and dates WITHOUT a mask hiding my favorite red lipstick! Nothing makes me feel better about myself than a good workout or a good reason to play with makeup. I’m oddly thankful for all-day long back to back Zoom calls so I have at least a reason to apply some of my favorites for a little extra life. With a cover model as glam and gorgeous and “glowy” as Kimberly Castle I thought this was a perfect time to share with you some super clean Zoom-worthy tips for a toned-down, done-up look, and some fun ways to play up a mask-wearing dinner out. Zoom calls no doubt have us staring at every imperfection we see in ourselves. Every time I get on a call and someone says wow your makeup looks gorgeous I’m really thinking “oh my left eyebrow looks crooked or I totally could have gone with more mascara!” All my-own-worst-critic aside, the first step to looking your best is glowing skin. One upside to being at home more is time to really focus on trying new products, being more religious with hydrating masks, taking more time for devices and peels, and overall at-home treatments more than ever. My favorite starter on clean prepped moisturized skin is to add a glow with either the stunning rose gold imperfection blurring RMS Master Radiance Base or my next go-to is Saie Glowy Super Gel, just patted in with fingertips to
give a beautiful incandescent look. Add a little concealer (RMS “Un” Cover-Up Concealeran Allure magazine award winner) where needed, brow, mascara, and a touch of bronzer in all the right places and next thing you know, no one has any idea you are just trying to make it through another day in a crazy year. Zoom calls are ABSOLUTELY the place for your pretty bright pink lipstick- adds a touch of color in a bit of a mundane world this year!
28
Finally getting a chance to get out to some of your best restaurants with girlfriends (or maybe a much needed date)? The best part of a mask, other than a new way to make a fashion statement, is that they totally play up those cheekbones and brows and lashes. I find that if I wear my favorite foundation and then press into my skin with a sponge and a great finishing powder, I don’t see quite so much rub off on my mask. This is where I take those brows up a notch (RMS Back2Brow Powder and Plume Nourish & Define Brow Pomade for beautiful clean options), and play up a luminizer on cheekbones, under the brow, dab in the inner corner of the eye, and just a bit down the nose. I prefer a cream like RMS Living Luminizer to a heavy glitter powder* so the skin still looks “alive” and fresh. Talk about a multi-tasker, you can even mix this product with your fave concealer to brighten under eyes for any occasion. If you prefer a more matte highlighter with a soft shimmer, go for RMS Luminizer Powder in Grande Dame, giving a “moonlit champagne luminosity”, enriched with antioxidant rich Buriti Oil, Vitamin E, and Rosemary Extract. Lastly, set everything with Switch2Pure Be Glowy hyaluronic spray serum to help set your makeup and hydrate with CBD, cucumber and Vitamin C. Add a little Sanara Chilean rosehip seed body oil with jojoba and vitamin E to your legs for a beautiful sheen and you are finished from top to bottom! *Side note, no shimmer made from mica for this girl unless it’s ethically sourced, which can only be found in the cleanest brands! Want to keep that glow rolling? Wash away the day with your best cleanser and apply Switch2Pure
Well & Glow Rejuvenating Facial Oil. This oil smells DELICIOUS and your skin will become your new best friend. (FYI this full-spectrum CBD infused oil with squalane, kukui, avocado, etc is light-weight and is infused with a slight shimmer so I wear it under my foundation sometimes too). So this year might be beating us up in one way or another, but at least we don’t have to look it right? When in doubt, go for the glam!

BSM: Please tell our readers how you got involved with PictureGroove Photography? I had seen Sarah’s work for years on social media and always loved the aesthetic of her images, however it wasn’t until I saw her speaking on a panel at fitness conference in 2015, that I decided to take the plunge and finally book a photoshoot. She has so much information to share about photography and the fitness industry, right then I knew I would be in good hands and it would be money well invested.
BSM: On your first shoot you flew to Arizona to do your shoot, Was it your first time there? What did you think of the shoot location? It wasn’t my first time in Arizona; I’d been there for work before. When I met Sarah, I had flown to Arizona specifically to attend the fitness conference where she was a speaker. My family is from Canada, and also act as “snowbirds”, vacationing to Arizona in the winter months. I love it there! The shoot location was pretty amazing. It was this gorgeous house with a pretty beautiful yard and pool with these lovely little vignettes. I love that Sarah always somehow chooses the most perfect location and glam team. All I had to do is show up with wardrobe, I don’t have to worry about anything else. It was pretty special to get to work with Allison Pynn on this shoot as well her skills as a makeup artist are beyond compare.

I was 25 when I entered my very first beauty pageant, Miss Alberta. All the women I was competing against had been competing in beauty pageants since they were young girls, and everyone thought I was crazy to enter my first pageant at the age of 25! What did I know about beauty pageants? Practically nothing it turned out, but what I did know is it was on my bucket list to give it a shot, and 25 was the cut off for pageants at the time, so this was my last chance to check that box. I entered. I didn’t win but I did get first runner up! It was an amazing outcome for my first time out. Some time went by and I was looking for a new a new challenge and an opportunity to get back on stage. I am always searching for new challenges to “test the waters.” I had been traveling a lot for work, entertaining clients at restaurants, working way too many hours and to be completely honest, my health was suffering because of it. I had just turned 30 and like a lot of women on a milestone birthday I thought, “I want to get in the best shape of my life.” So without hesitation, I hired a personal trainer to help me.

BSM: After your first shoot, you came back to Arizona again, but with different ideas. What did you do differently than you did on the first one? What were your shoot goals? First, my hair color changed, I went from red to blonde! It’s important to have current images, especially if you’re spending time marketing yourself. I’d also come to a point where I was FINALLY embracing this body that I have just the way it is. I had just started teaching the BARE course, and wanted certain images to promote that program. As luck would have it, one of our images from that shoot was selected and I was named one of Canada’s “Hot and Fit 100” Women that year!

I can say with all honesty that I knew nothing about working out. When I did go to the gym up until that point, I would always just get on the treadmill and run. After about a month of working with my trainer, he made the absurd suggestion that I compete in a figure competition! I quickly dismissed the idea knowing that sticking to the strict diet would be difficult. But the idea kept nagging at me, and I finally gave in. I started training 5 days a week and incorporated a clean diet and in a matter of 6 months I lost 40+ pounds and was standing on stage in my first figure competition. Again, I didn’t win but I placed third in my first figure competition and started to gain some attention in the fitness world. I won rookie of the year in Canada, had been featured in a few local stories, and by some miracle I earned a coveted spot on the cover of Oxygen Magazine Fat Loss Issue in January 2007! It was a game-changer for me! I competed in figure competitions from 2007 to 2010 and when the IFBB brought in the new bikini division I transitioned and continued to compete at the national level until 2012. I was dieting and training a lot while trying to keep up my travel schedule for work and finally decided in 2012 that I needed to take a break from the bikini stage because I was getting burnt out.

BSM: Shoot three- Sarah heads to Dallas to see you with some new ideas. Location location location! On the fly, you both had to switch gears to an impromptu location for the shoot. What happened there? The original location that we had booked decided at the last minute, literally an hour or so on the morning of the shoot, that we would not be able to use the space. While I was in hair and makeup Sarah and I brainstormed what to do and she came up with the perfect solution. We did a few shots in my living room and then made our way to her Airbnb for the remainder of the shoot. It was a little stressful but we made it work using natural lighting and the space that was available to us.
BSM: According to Sarah, these were some of the most incredible shots she’s taken of you to date. Why do you think that is? What I loved about this shoot is that we had more of a focus on beauty and lifestyle shots. It was much more relaxed (except when I was quickly changing in the parking garage or ducking quickly into the pool area) and we used a lot more natural lighting simply because we were not in a studio and we were winging it. Just goes to show that its what you make of the situation and I agree these are some of my most favorite images by Sarah.

Still yearning for the stage, in the spring of 2013 I entered the Mrs. USofA Globe pageant. I represented Texas. Again, I didn’t win but I DID get first runner up for the Mrs. North America Globe title! I was certainly disappointed, but I fell in love with the Mrs. Globe organization and everything that it stood for. It supports an amazing charity called the WIN (Women In Need) Foundation, which helps women escape domestic violence and I loved the work that we got to do for the charity. While a lot of people thing pageants are passee the women that participate are really incredible and always looking to find ways to better their communities and raise awareness for causes that are important to them, and that was also true for me. The winners of the pageant that year were all set to go to China in the fall to compete for the Mrs. Globe title. Out of the blue I got a call from the pageant and was asked if I would be interested in representing Canada in China in three weeks. The Canadian delegate had to drop out and since I was a Canadian citizen I qualified to go. Who can possibly get ready for a pageant overseas in just three weeks? I CAN! This was a once in a lifetime experience to represent my home country on the international stage! I quickly got a gown, swimsuit and a national costume together and I was off to China!

BSM: Shoot four- A “different kind of location”! With more of a fashion goal in mind for your shoot this go around, BodyScape had a very “unique’ house for the models in attendance. What came from the images out of that location in particular? Yes, hands down that was the most unique location! Skull chandelier and all! The images from that shoot are pretty special and have been published numerous times. Once again I was named one of Canada’s “Hot and Fit 100” women, was published in no less than 5 different magazines and landed two separate covers. What made that shoot all the more special was to have a dream team onsite. I loved the hair and make-up that Shayla Perez created for this unique location, Kona capturing everything on video and getting to collaborate with one of my long time fitness icons Monica Brant was a dream come true.
Shoot Four: Location: Las Vegas Hair and makeup: Shayla Perez

Mrs. Asia took home the coveted title that year and while again, I didn’t win, I left with a desire to make sure Canadian women had the chance to experience all that Mrs. Globe had to offer. I became the Canadian National Director and started hosting my own beauty pageant for women in Canada. I took my turn behind the stage helping amazing Canadian women experience the same “once in a lifetime” experience to represent their country on the international stage that I had. It was my time to give back and I love helping other women make their dreams come true. What I have come to realize throughout all my years of competing there is a lot of us “not winning”. At the time it is always disappointing to not take home the top prize but what I have learned throughout this amazing life I have curated is that it really is about the journey. I have learned so much more about myself through not winning. I have become so much more resilient, easy going, and grateful for every single experience. I have gained so much more than a trophy or crown can offer. I’ve made amazing friendships and had some really amazing experiences with incredible women from across the globe. I wouldn’t trade that for the world.

BSM: Shoot five- Back to Dallas! It seems that there is no end to the variety of looks you’ve been able to capture with Sarah. On this special trip, there was a main focus on the pageant feel, with huge gowns and ultra-glam looks. How does it feel to see yourself captured in these stunning works of art you were wearing for your shoot? I love that our collaboration allows for huge diversity and as a model just being open to creating something new and different is important. Sometimes models can be narrow minded thinking we are only “fitness models” or “runway models” and we miss some really cool opportunities to create magic. I knew getting ready for the 2020 Mrs. Globe Classique pageant that I wanted to have something a bit more pageant focused and glamourous. Wow did Sarah deliver. From the amazing studio we shot at in Dallas, to Liliana Giddens - my incredible glam team and having Kona on location to capture everything on video this was no doubt an epic shoot! I feel like I say this every time I shoot with Sarah but, these are some of the most beautiful images we have created so far! One thing I know for sure is these won’t be the last!
Shoot Five: Location: Dallas, Texas Hair and makeup: Lilliana Giddens

I am about to step on stage again this November. I will be representing Canada at the Mrs. Globe Classique pageant. This is a pageant for women over the age of 45. It’s 20 years from the first time I stepped on stage to compete at the Miss Alberta pageant! I would love to take home the top prize and become Mrs. Globe Classique 2021, however that will just be the icing on the cake. What I am most excited for is proudly representing my country for a fourth time on the international stage, spending a week in Palm Springs with like-minded, intelligent, ambitions and professional women from all over the world who are out in their communities every day making a difference, raising awareness for the WIN Foundation and making incredible memories that will last a lifetime!

Building Healthier Immunity - Takes Food, Supplements and Action! Key Topics: Environmental Factors for Health, Immunity, Aloe Vera, Digestion, Hydrochloric Acid (HCL), Absorption, Detoxification, Vitamin E, Research Sources for Preventative Health. Words: 2,959 - September 2020 How do you build immunity? True health of the body with Immunity is actually the result of eating a variety of healthy foods daily to include different types of proteins, vegetables and fruits and covering the other Environmental Factors including supplements (1). Science continues to support complimenting ones diet with a few key supplements referred to as nutritional short-cuts. My top picks include a quality Aloe Vera and Vitamin E that get to work relatively fast – even within 45 days! Experts further find that many people are bewildered about health and they are making up their own rules and unfortunately paying the price of a sudden heart attack, auto-immune, diabetes and even cancer at a young age. By following diets that are not scientific longterm or skipping meals, food abuse and or choosing to not eat for long periods of time - can leave the body deficient of the required nutrition allowing disease to develop. The physical signs that may come before the dis-ease are not always obvious to the untrained nonprofessional to include; fatigue, tingling and numbness in limbs, allergies, skin and digestive issues. Also, a high percentage of people live with undiagnosed bowel disease – which further weakens their health due to malnutrition. Note that gluten testing through bloodwork is not dependable and often the more advanced ill patient receives a false negative due to an under functioning liver. However, building a healthier body with balanced immunity is within reach following the guidelines of health. Search out dependable guidelines as from the Tuft’s University study that was on-going for over 30 years following 77,000 doctors and nurses. Their book BIOMARKERS, spells out the findings below;
86
Healthy Aging Study by Tuft’s University,
30 yr. 2010; Researchers found that all ages even over the age of 70 benefited applying health with the (3) primary reasons for disease to include;
1. Diet Omissions & Abuse… The data proved upon eating correctly and supplementing one can reverse multiple disease states.
2. Low Production of Hydrochloric Acid (HCL) in the Stomach…
Proved poor digestion was an issue in disease development especially a lack of HCL therefore subjects were not absorbing nutrition that was critical to support body health.
3. Taking Pharmaceutical Drugs…
Each medication depleted 1 – 2 critical core nutrients’ to metabolize the drug. By adding supplements to the daily health programs showed a reversal of their symptoms. [Statistics show that the average 60 yr. old may take up to 6 medications daily causing deficiencies.]
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS The Mediterranean Diet (MD) is a reliable cornerstone for health, effective for disease prevention and very delicious. Just choose the types of carbohydrates that are less inflammatory for your health status and skip the oats in case you are unaware - oats can be the most inflammatory grain of all. Choosing “low inflammatory foods” by reducing gluten, sugar, cow’s milk, and trans-fats (margarine and fried foods) especially with digestive and other health issues - have shown very helpful. Opposite of what used to be taught – avoid fibrous whole grains and gluten flour, and experiment with low gluten carbohydrates. Examples include; white corn tortillas, potatoes, yams, beans, and light quinoa along with some hard cheeses, butter and perhaps white crackers, breads (as tolerated) with of course your quality proteins and vegetables - avoiding the added fibers- keeping meals nutritious and enjoyable. Sweet alternatives include; honey, stevia, fruits and or several other choices on the market today (2)
1. EAT BETTER Daily Food Goals*practice eating 3 – 4 mini to smaller meals over the day to reach the target of 50 – 75 grams of protein , 2 to 3 cups of vegetables, including beans, potatoes, quinoa or white rice, bright orange, greens, yellow plus leafy greens and seasonal fruits (organic when possible), USDA Recommended Daily Intake (RDI). And keep foods simple, like soup, salads, stir-fry’s and dips plus vegetable juices and traditional cuisine. *Caution: Eat all foods as tolerated with consideration for any health restrictions. Some people feel best avoiding all grains.
87
People are often overwhelmed to find out the large volume of foods recommended by agencies to consume daily - even for average daily health. The value of supplementing has been accepted by most individuals yet many are taking only a token amount in a multiple vitamin and mineral and not the ideal amounts their body desires for optimum health, especially for growing children and active adults. It’s critical to follow the healthy food guidelines - our government and researchers tout for children and adults. However, most people fall short and that’s where supplements can be very helpful regardless of any negative input about supplementing which is 100% science backed (3)(4).
2. EXERCISE and MORE The body also demands a quantity of good clean water 1 – 3 liters, exercise and movement (7 - 45 minutes daily), fresh air and sunshine plus adequate sleep for wellness. And experts also underline the importance of a good digestive system, including absorption and daily elimination. The facts show that many people do not absorb food nutrients well, approximately only 30 % of what is eaten. So the saying is true, “You are what you eat!”, yet only if you digest and absorb the nutrients from the foods (5). Also important and almost impossible at times is keeping one’s body weight and daily stresses down into healthy parameters, the best as possible. Regular exercising truly helps reduce the stress hormones that are damaging to health - cortisol. Having several exercises you can rotate at different times of the year helps greatly and can be fun too. Just find some that you can stick to even marching in place works!
3. INSPECT SAFETY of PERSONAL SPACE & VACCINES Prioritizing the Environmental Factors listed, are far more important than Heredity Factor (HF) which many people think explains their destiny and they often couple this with a reliance on vaccines. According to the American Cancer Society, research on Heredity Factor is 6th on the list of factors leading to the development of cancer. Once the body is weakened from environmental factors then heredity weakness may give way to a disease predisposal yet always choose health. Vaccines are limited – primarily just stimulating immunity to a certain attacking antigen profile and take note - they do not build immunity. Science also supports the fact that there are actually thousands of attacking microbes in our body and environment. Therefore, focusing on the health of the entire body pays off with both; heightened effectiveness of immunity in balance (for autoimmune) and also support for extra action when needed (immunity in fighting mode). With life threatening microbes like viruses, bacteria, fungus, molds and even cancer - higher levels of health support work. You may also wish to read the fine print of vaccines as well - for some may come with potentially negative health side effects to consider.
4. DAILY DETOXIFICATION Environmental impact also includes external factors of thousands of chemicals and heavy

metal poisons flooding our world in the 21st century. Children, adults and even pets may benefit from a detox and cleansing daily of the body making sure bowel regularity is good! * To begin with all people must make their best effort to minimize the intake of environmental toxins, poisons and pollutants, at work, home and play. Some common ones are quite dangerous like smoking cigarettes, vaping, drinking alcohol excessively, out gassing of new cars, tires, plastics and other goods, old peeling coated pans and flaky paints, toxic artificial fragrances and cleaners, tap water chemicals and pesticides and glycation (from heated sugars and charcoal burnt fats) on foods and more. *A poor diet and excess of toxins can overwhelm a child’s small body quicker and also wear down an adult’s immunity through accumulation allowing more disease prevalence (4). Research has now confirmed that even newborn babies are born with a heavy toxic load of chemicals. Some can delay healthy growth and development and even be carcinogenic. Reality can be shocking yet it is important to share the real truths about the world we live in and the importance of applying health today.
5. PREVENTATIVE HEALTH - TAKES ACTION! Busy lives can make life challenging for sure. Yet with more disease than ever before, including a sharp rise in certain CVD, diabetes, cancer, digestive issues, allergies, mental illness and more -a health program is worth the time to prioritize. The answer to all disease along with appropriate medical support is health. Also valuable is a periodic health checkup to include bloodwork, a dental exam and any other modality to round out a good Preventative Health Program. Research shows that cancer may take 10-20 years to develop and early detection is saving lives. And taking small steps towards your health goals of a few nutritional short cuts may support faster health results in the body to motivate action sooner than later. So be smart, do some research and trust the body aiming for 80 - 90% Action / 10 - 20% Flex to experience better, better and better health results.
What are nutritional shortcuts for body wellness? A few nutritional short-cuts that work for health minded people can fill in food gaps and boost body wellness quicker. Research studies are mounting with thousands of repeatable studies that explain details of the how and why’s (and safety) of eating heathy foods, and taking supplements and herbs for health support including; * Vitamins, Minerals, Proteins (Amino Acids), EFA’s, Anti-Oxidants and Herbs.

6. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH Herbs and especially Aloe have increased in use - selling #1 in 2009 yet staying in the top #6 of super foods and herbs at the present. A quality Aloe is the best buy in supplements because it does so much topically and also taken daily as a supplement for wellness. Easy to explore on-line research is fast and gathering a few reliable books and articles on health for guidance makes it fun to include; PubMed, IASC, American Botanicals, Aloelife.com, plus research universities like Tuft’s, Harvard, Boston Medical and even Mayo Clinic plus others. Unfortunately, the NIH is not pro supplements and often lists negative statements that are not telling the entire truth about the value of a particular supplement - yet they do encourage a good diet.
7. VERY POPULAR SUPPLEMENTS FOR HEALTH SUPPORT ALOE & Vitamin E ALOE VERA with Immunity Factor support from the Aloe Vera plant - involves both nutrition and special phytonutrients. This fact seems to surprise many people even though multiple research studies and applications have been pointing to the polysaccharide complex and other actives since the 1980’s. Coupled with eating healthy and a few key supplements - a quality Aloe Vera works like a catalyst quite remarkable and true to the voluminous research. However, Consumer Beware - there’s a BIG DIFFERENCE in each product on the market and choosing one of the best like Aloe Life - Whole Leaf Aloe Vera Juice Concentrate - with the ActivAloe trademark guarantees the support of immunity factor and so much more - because the Aloe is not over filtered or over heated which destroys immunity actives. * Balancing support with auto-immune is 1 – 2 ounces and three or more ounces kicks up immunity factor support with the phyto-nutrient polysaccharide range above 80,000 – 400,000 Dalton measurement. Aloe Life juices and tablets test repeatedly in this therapeutic range and that’s why even a little does a lot - RESULTS! Numerous research studies involving mammals and human beings (over 800) - keep redefining how important the plant juice is to health for 3-Fold support; digestion, infection fighters and immune modulators (polysaccharides and sterols) that balance and stimulate immunity dose dependent. New exciting research also points to Aloe Vera to be the Director in the important Butyric Acid Cycle ln the small intestines. With 90% of shoppers considering their digestion before purchasing foods today - this is HUGE and a Probiotics is good yet limited to the small intestine. A quality Aloe supports the upper digestive track essential to digestion of all foods and then circulates into the blood for body wellness! Aloe Vera is a true Herbal Medicine Chest in a plant, especially with the barbadensis species. It is one of three types that have exceptional active content out of the 300 species around the world.

Aloe Life juice concentrate and tablets are not over processed (actually gently concentrated) and contain over 100 measurable actives including; 75 nutritionals (vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, amino acids and 25 specialized phytonutrients (2). It’s 100% safe however use caution - if loose stool diarrhea results - reduce the amount taken internally. Best to take before meals because it supports digestion yet may also reduce high glucose sugar- requiring a reduction in diabetes medications. The immunity support from the polysaccharides and glycoproteins are highlighted in this article and research supports four pathways for the immune system; innate, acquired, passive (from body fluids plus bone marrow stimulation) and synergism. In general a quality Aloe Vera product is “adaptagenic” in action especially with sufficient amounts of Vitamin E and EFA’s; balancing an over reactive immunity (auto-immune) and boosting weak immunity (ingesting a higher amount) not over heated which science shows activates; TNF-a, Interleukin 1, 6, WBC’s, NK cells, macrophage induced phagocytosis while supporting the increase of Red Blood Cells and so much more (3). * Aloe Vera’s Digestive, Absorption, Detox & Renewal support starts with its Herbal Bitter action encouraging HCL production in the stomach. It is located under the outer leaf in the dark yellow sap of mature plants and you can see the dark golden yellow color in carefully processed products like the Aloe Life juice - because it is not over filtered or over heated. Bitter on the tongue sweet on the stomach! Research of the Bioavailability Pathway, with drinking a quality Aloe Vera in two human studies revealed a sharp increase in absorption with taking a supplement of Vitamin E, C and B12! It’s a remarkable plant for support of digestion, and absorption, lowering gas, bloating and occasional constipation and a bonus of growth factor support for skin renewal. [Absorption increased into plasma in humans 269% more of Vitamin E, 200% more Vitamin C and B12 absorbed better like it was timed released.] Protein and mineral absorption also benefits with more HCL flow (pH balancing) into the stomach along with bowel regularity which is the first step to daily detoxification- the way the body is designed to function. Energy seems to ignite much quicker as well with Aloe Vera taken before meals along with so much more.
Vitamin E is Essential for Life! Generally speaking Vitamin E is much undersupplied as are other essential core nutrients. If people ate the food sources recommended more often, kids and adults would not lack this valuable vitamin as much- but they don’t. The body requires much more than the minuscule R.D.I. daily for antioxidant support alone. So the body winds up very deficient - as evident in all the rising cancer statistics. Vitamin E has been proven if taken in higher amounts - that in a short period of time it will perk up the entire body’s metabolism including immunity, longevity and mental capacity valued by all people. Vitamin E is used in at least 10 times higher amounts than the suggested daily amount of 15 i.u. approx. around 400 i.u. (Over 16 yrs.) and sometimes more. Reliable research proves it is not dangerous and each core nutrient listed below compliments health and has lots of metabolism work to support as well for both kids and adults.

Check out the other important essentials to include; Vitamins, Minerals, EFA’s and Protein for support including; C, A, B12 & B-Complex, D3, Zinc and Selenium as well. Researchers are working hard across the globe to open your eyes and mind ever wider with thousands of repeatable studies and publications for all to learn about health and its relationship to our foods (5)(6) and to support a quality life.

Choose health in every situation it is how the body was designed to work no matter what issue is going on in your life. Very common sense and written about for thousands of years going back to Hippocrates, 500 BC, who was called the father of medicine stating, “Food is your medicine and medicine your food!” Choose Health and Aloe Life today – the most important ACTIONS that work FOUNDATIONALLY.
