Earn Money with Facebook by Avoiding Rookie Mistakes Facebook gives you access to thousands, if not millions, of potential leads and it’s still technically a free social platform – it’s a given for every business out there to have a Facebook page. But having a Facebook business page or fan page doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll be raking in the dollars right away. Not everyone who has a Facebook page knows how to use it. And even if we put the technical aspects of Facebook marketing on the shelf for just this article, there are still plenty of rookie mistakes being made that are keeping potential customers from becoming actual leads. To earn money with Facebook, you need to avoid the mistakes that others who have gone before you have made. It’s not enough to get ten thousand likes, you have to find a way to convert those likes into becoming real customers and maybe encourage them to stick around by making them feel they’re part of a real community, albeit online. Here are a few mistakes that everyone does on their first day on the job: 1. One-way Engagement A lot of people forget that social media marketing isn’t a one way street. You don’t broadcast information the way you do with traditional advertising. Instead, you engage people and encourage them to respond and participate. Have conversations with them and let them feel that they are being heard. The worst thing that you can do is to send a barrage of info to your Facebook followers while completely ignoring them and what they have to say. When it’s appropriate, like a post or two and even share some of their posts. 2. Ignoring Mobile Optimization It’s no big secret, everyone is going mobile, but a lot of Facebook marketers are still not optimizing their posts for users to see on their phones. Something as simple as making sure the text on that image you’re about to post is legible when viewed through a mobile phone. Studies show that millions of Facebook users access their accounts solely through mobile phones. That’s a very big pie to ignore, especially if you’re serious about learning how to earn money with Facebook. 3. Ignoring Complaints A lot of people who use Facebook for marketing have a tendency to completely ignore complaints and focus all of their attention on positive comments. Why shouldn’t they? Complaints are stressful and difficult to deal with. But ignoring those complaints won’t make them go away, and it will only make customers or potential customers feel ignored and unwanted. Don’t forget that you will learn a lot more from a handful of complaints than from a thousand compliments. And they’re actually giving you a chance to do something about the problem. Take a deep breath then take the few minutes to listen to the

complainant and respond. Thank them for telling you what they think went wrong instead of turning around and telling all their friends. These are only a few of the land mines you should avoid when marketing on Facebook but knowing to avoid them should go a long way in making you more effective and efficient in getting those lead.
