Why should you try ebook publishing

Why Should You Try eBook Publishing? You may have noticed that a lot of people are jumping into eBook publishing and you’re wondering whether it’s a fad or a phase. But with eBooks, you may not be dealing with something that’s going to go away sometime soon. More and more people are buying eBooks over printed books because of the ease of access and the quality of eBooks that have been coming out lately. Even bona fide bookworms are opting to buy eBooks first to check out new titles and investing in the more expensive printed versions later when they know their money won’t be wasted. Despite the millions of people worldwide in the market for eBooks, it only looks like the market is going to grow; and that’s where you can come in. The best thing about eBooks is that anyone can publish one. Most people already have the tools that are needed for writing and publishing an electronic book – a laptop or computer, writing software, access to stock photos, and access to Amazon. It’s a great investment because you’re mostly going to just be investing your time. But that doesn’t mean that eBook publishing will be as straightforward as pressing ‘publish’. Not all eBooks sell or they won’t all sell enough to fund your retirement. The secret behind successful eBooks is knowing the market, having a clear target audience, and knowing how to gain readership. Before you even get started on writing your book, it’s a good idea to scan the bestsellers of Amazon so that you have a good idea of what’s hot and what’s not. If you already have an idea of what you want to write, go to your category and see which books are the top five bestsellers on the list. Notice that they are all well-reviewed and probably well marketed. Most books don’t really start to sell or sell well until they have been reviewed by readers or other authors. You can be pro-active by simply sending a copy of your book to the top Amazon reviewers and asking them (politely) to review your book. Top Amazon reviewers are often rewarded by Amazon by sending them gift certificates so it’s also to their advantage to review for you. Marketing your book is also important, especially when you’re just starting out. In the first few pages of your book where you have the copyright information, leave your author’s Twitter and Facebook links so that they know where to find more of your work. On the last page of your book (or even right beside your social media info), you can provide a list of other eBooks that you have written. Be sure to make them clickable so that they can find the books easily. Another good way to get your book started is to offer a free copy for the first few weeks of its release. Word of mouth is still a powerful thing on the internet. There is a lot of potential for financial success in eBook publishing but it’s not easy navigating your way through these waters, especially if you’re just starting out.
