M CARLY LOVES AMOS PHOTOGRAPHY

arried for thirteen years, Carly and Amos Kolbo are captivated by love. The Bismarck couple is the duo behind Carly Loves Amos Photography, where they thrive on telling couples’ stories. “I still cry at the weddings we shoot,” says Carly. She loves helping brides establish the perfect wedding day flow so they can be carefree. Carly and Amos say they never have stressed brides. “We take it upon ourselves to keep the wedding day flowing. We have so much fun with our couples, partly because Amos is Buddy the Elf in photographer form,” Carly says, laughing.

photography

For eleven years, they’ve been photographing weddings all over the world. “We are especially passionate about Bismarck, though, because we don’t think “cool” things are reserved for big cities,” says Amos. You aren’t the same as other couples, and they don’t think your photos should be either. They stress that they aren’t looking to recreate anything you’ve seen on Pinterest. “Our couples end up with photos completely unique to them,” they say. With twenty-two years of combined experience, Amos and Carly have cultivated the art of unscripted, uncommon images that show the deep connection their couples have. Creating great images has a lot to do with creating a great vibe, they explain. “That vibe - the feel, the energy - is something we take upon ourselves as photographers.”

Carly & Amos Kolbo | Carly Loves Amos Photography www.carlylovesamos.com

Over the years, they’ve been dialing in creating an environment where authentic and unique photos are born. They tell their couples to not worry about posing. “You can leave that to us. The direction we give involves movement and interaction with each other,” says Amos. They view any ‘photo time’ they have on a wedding day as time for their couples to focus on each other. “Your only job is to be in love and have fun!” says Carly. Your photos are one of the only things that will remain after your wedding day. Carly is passionate about these first memories as a new family. Throughout your entire wedding day, Carly and Amos are watching everything unfold, documenting moments you’ll hold close forever, moments you might not even see happen. “We’re obsessed with bottling those feelings in the form of unique pieces of art that will tell your story for generations to come,” Carly says. Carly and Amos’ clients say spending their wedding day with them feels like being with their best friends. “We think that’s because we care not just about photos, but the story you’re going to write as a couple. It’s so fun hearing from clients long after their wedding day, grabbing dinner, and cheering each other on in life!”

“I DESTINEE JENSEN PHOTOGRAPHY

’ve found a love with what I’m doing,” Destinee Jensen writes on her website. The love that Destinee has for photography and the love it brings to her life is evident in every photo she takes. Whether she’s capturing the perfect first look, the sweetness of a first kiss, or the fun everyone has on the dance floor Destinee will perfectly capture the love created and sustained on your wedding day.

photography

Destinee has been in the photography industry for ten years and seeing people’s reactions to her work is what keeps her going. “When my couples get to finally see what they have and tell me they love it, that’s great. Then they call you back and they want family photos and anniversary photos, too,” Destinee explains. It’s creating those relationships that make photography fun for her. Destinee believes that knowing her couples is the most important part of capturing the best moments. “Getting to know each other is so important. You probably see your photographer the most. I don’t leave my bride’s side very often, so I’m literally with you the entire day,” Destinee explains. An easy way to begin this relationship is to start with an engagement session. “Even during engagement sessions, you get to know each other, and you build off that. I learn about the couple, what to expect, and what kind of things they’re looking for,” she adds.

Destinee Jensen | Destinee Jensen Photography Beulah 701.873.2713 destineejensenphotography.com

Recently, Destinee has changed her business plan and instead of offering packages or setting hour limits for wedding days she dedicates her day to the couple. Destinee truly cares about her brides and grooms and she chose to give up hourly blocks to benefit the couple. “I want to plan my day around the couple’s day and what they have planned. I’m going to be there as soon as you start getting ready and I’m going to stay into the dance to get those fun shots, too” Destinee says. “Why miss anything, it’s your day,” she smiles. Photography is more than just a job for Destinee; it’s about the relationships she creates with the people she works with. “Relationships are my biggest thing. I genuinely care and I want to do what a couple is looking for,” she says. This doesn’t stop on the wedding day. As a couple’s relationship grows and they celebrate anniversaries, babies, and other life milestones, Destinee wants to be there to capture those moments, so you have beautiful, creative images to accompany your most important memories.

our wedding day will be one of your most cherished memories and a day you’ll want to relive over and over. Glasser Images’ photographers have captured countless moments making them an experienced and trusted studio for wedding photography and all of life’s important times.

ALEXIS EBERLE - GLASSER IMAGES

Glasser Images began with a senior photo taken by founder and Bismarck native Jack Glasser in 2005. Jack’s passion, eye for detail, and entrepreneurial spirit has grown Glasser Images into a photography and videography powerhouse. “I wanted to create a studio with a creative focus. Our business side focuses on business, so our creatives can focus on their creativity,” explains Jack. Each Glasser employee is passionate about their work and pride themselves on the one on one connections made with clients. Based in Bismarck, Glasser Images captures images both nationally and internationally with photographers in Colorado, Minnesota, and South Dakota. They offer no travel costs for weddings in North Dakota, Colorado, Minnesota, and South Dakota. Their photographers will also travel regionally, nationally, and internationally to capture your wedding day. Glasser Images offers custom wedding packages tailored to your needs. “No wedding is cookie cutter, so why should your wedding package be?” explains Client Consultant McLauryn Alexander. Wedding packages can include everything from photographs, wedding video, albums, and wedding stationary.

McLauryn Alexander and Jace Schacher | Glasser Images 510 East Main Ave, Bismarck 701.250.2190 www.glasserimages.com

Because Glasser Images’ reach goes beyond the lens, their custom wedding stationary gives your invites, programs, and more a streamlined look. “All of our booked wedding couples get free custom designs on any stationary they purchase from Glasser,” McLauryn says. Allison, their in-house graphic designer, custom designs each piece so everything is unique to your wedding. So, what do you do with the beautiful images from your wedding day? Glasser can help with that, too and it’s something Jack is especially passionate about. “My biggest fear is that photos sit on a USB drive or a computer,” Jack says. Client Consultants will help couples create a guest book or save the dates with engagement photos and a wedding album, canvases, and prints after the big day has ended. You can count on Glasser Images for life. “We love it when our couples come back to us for their one-year anniversary or maternity photos. It’s so special to go on that journey and celebrate their life with them,” Jace Schacher, Client Consultant, smiles. “It’s as if you feel part of the family. We’re the long-lost brother or sister that was missing and here we are able to be a part of your life and that’s really special.”

O ALEXIS EBERLE - GLASSER IMAGES

ne of the hottest trends in capturing the moments of your wedding day is videography. Photos are a snapshot in time while video helps to capture so much more. There’s nothing like reliving the moment of watching your fiancé turn around and see you in your dress for the first time, with movement and all the emotion, through video. The videographers at Glasser Images are experts at capturing the living, breathing, moving emotion of your day.

videography

So much more than your standard, shaky home video shot on a handheld camcorder, videography is experiencing a resurgence. “Video has exploded, and people are seeing the value in it,” Jack Glasser, founder of Glasser Images, explains. This resurgence is due in part to increasingly sophisticated equipment and the use of drones. “Drones add a completely different perspective on a wedding day. Couples are going to get that bird’s eye view to where their guests and the couple themselves won’t get that perspective,” Jack explains. Glasser Images’ videographers are FAA certified and safety trained drone operators. Because regulations and air space are subject to change, Jack and his team recommend that brides check with their venue about the use of drones.

Jack Glasser | Glasser Images 510 East Main Ave, Bismarck 701.250.2190 www.glasserimages.com

If drones are allowed at your venue your Client Consultant at Glasser Images will work with you to build drone time into your custom wedding itinerary. Your videographer will get the aerial shots he or she needs and then move on to shooting your celebration on the ground. Having a drone certified videographer streamlines the process and simplifies your day and proves once again that Glasser Images is truly a one stop shop for your wedding photography and videography needs. While Glasser Images uses state of the art drones, it is truly the creatives operating the equipment that have brought wedding videos back to the forefront of the wedding industry. The quality of product that Glasser Images produces is a direct reflection of the creatives at Glasser. “People choose us because they know they’re going to get a quality product that’s creative, has personality, captures emotion, and is professional,” Jack explains. Glasser videographers set moments of your day to music, captivating both the eyes and the ears, taking you back to the best day of your life. They are masters at catching little moments like your flower girl’s giggle or the happy tear rolling down your grandfather’s face; treasured moments you may have otherwise missed. “Video adds that extra level of emotion and ability to connect,” Jack says. “Those in-between moments are what we live for,” he smiles.

f you’re looking to add a creative touch to your wedding day that’ll last a lifetime look no further than Aviary Woodworks. Inspired by a woodworking class that the owner, Brandon Loftis, took in school, Aviary Woodworks produces beautiful and unique wooden rings.

rings

CARLY LOVES AMOS PHOTOGRAPHY

In 2016, Brandon was hanging out in his friend’s woodshop and admiring his furniture making side hustle. Motivated to find a hobby that could become something similar, he bought a laith and the hand tools he needed to begin wood turning. “I worked on my craft and worked on my brand and launched full time last spring,” Brandon says. Now, he’s known as ‘The Ring Guy’. Brandon’s first piece was a candlestick, but he knew that there’s not really a market for specialty, boutique candlesticks. Next idea: wooden rings. His pieces have come a long way since his first ring, “It wasn’t comfortable, and it broke right away but I kept trying and kept getting better,” Brandon remembers. Now, Brandon’s rings stand the test of strength and time making them perfect for wedding bands. Each ring is made with wood that’s been stabilized; this adds strength and water resistance to each ring. Once the wood is stabilized, it’s placed on a laith and meticulously handcrafted. Each ring is treated with top of the line sealants, oils, and wood butters for a nice shine and added water resistance. Materials like epoxy resin, copper, silver, gold inlays, and dyes can be added to make a ring exceptionally distinctive.

Brandon Loftis | Aviary Woodworks aviaryring.com

Custom work is Brandon’s forte. He loves repurposing old items and making them new again. He explains, “I love to repurpose passion. Don’t just let your things sit in the garage. Let us give it a new story.” His most unique repurpose has been a ring set made from a baseball bat his client’s husband used in college. Brandon has made rings from wood sourced from other states and countries, too. “I had a client from Colorado that was born in Wisconsin and got married in Ireland. I sourced wood from all three places and designed a cool ring that was really meaningful to him,” he says. Specialty items like the Aviary Duo, a custom ring and earring set are perfect for couples looking to match their pieces in a less obvious, but just as beautiful way. Lead time for Brandon’s pieces is typically two weeks but don’t wait to get him your custom order. He has big plans for Aviary Woodworks, “The sky is the limit. The more I dream, the less time I have,” he says.

Amos & Carly Kolbo | Co-Studio 200 W Main Ave, Bismarck 701.471.6850 costudiobismarck.com

wners Amos and Carly Kolbo knew they had a special space and didn’t feel right keeping it all to themselves, so they opened Co-Studio, a beautiful space for hosting special events in downtown Bismarck. Completely malleable, Co-Studio is the perfect spot to host a bridal shower, rehearsal dinner or any other prewedding festivities you may be planning. “We love the thought of providing a place for memories to be created,” Carly says. Co-Studio is a stunning blank slate with original hardwood floors and large windows that give the room a light and airy feel. Its understated elegance is the perfect backdrop for your wildest décor dreams, or you can leave the space as is and enjoy a more casual vibe with its natural historical charm. Co-Studio is located on the third floor of the Anderson Building. Built in 1912, the Anderson Building has taken many forms. “It was a tractor implement and the railroad used to go right through the alley. It’s been a dance studio, coffee shop, and church,” Carly explains. “And now it’s Bismarck’s,” smiles Amos. The best part of Co-Studio is that it really can be anything you want it to be. The size is perfect for an intimate bridal shower brunch or something larger. “It’s a beautiful spot for a rehearsal dinner because you can get your whole family and your wedding party in here,” Amos explains of the 60-person capacity room. When it comes to food, what you choose to serve is up to you. “You’re not limited to a caterer so you can have your event catered or cater it yourself,” Amos adds. Alcohol is allowed and there is no license necessary as long as you’re not charging for libations. Co-Studio makes it easy to elevate your event from a hotel board room and give it a special feel. There’s no frenzied house cleaning during wedding week. Everyone can enjoy celebrating the couple instead of worrying about fitting everyone into a living room. Carly and Amos have made it easy to make their space yours by putting together an extensive user guide about Co-Studio that answers any questions you might have about their space. The user guide includes pricing, policies, and photos of the décor that is available for use during an event. Co-Studio is an interesting, comfortable, inviting space to make even more memories around your big day. Your wedding won’t be ordinary and the festivities leading up to it shouldn’t be either. “It just feels good to be here,” Carly smiles.

ocated approximately four and a half hours from Bismarck, Spearfish Canyon Lodge in Spearfish, South Dakota is quickly becoming a popular destination wedding venue for brides in the greater Bismarck/ Mandan/Lincoln area. The beautiful setting of the lodge situated on the banks of a creek in the heart of Spearfish Canyon lends itself to incredible views and a laid back, away-from-it-all vibe.

venue

Sales and Events Director Alicia Kokesh has been at the Lodge for a year, “I didn’t know how much I was going to enjoy it. Our staff here is wonderful and getting to come up the canyon every day is wonderful, too,” she says. When touring the Lodge, couples are offered a complementary night stay to get the full experience of this beautiful location. Spearfish Canyon Lodge offers a few different options to hold ceremonies and/or receptions, with each one capturing the beauty of the scenery surrounding the Lodge. The Great Room is a popular location because of the stunning 40-foot fireplace and large windows. There is also an outdoor ceremony area, which lies next to the babbling Spearfish Creek. The canyon walls provide a dramatic and gorgeous backdrop for pictures and memories to last a lifetime.

The Lodge has everything you need to make your day perfect. “All of the set up and tear down is done by our staff. Guests don’t have to bring in their own décor because we have a variety, including center pieces, glassware, and cake stands,” Alicia says. Typically, couples want the natural beauty of the Lodge’s setting and the warm, welcoming interior to be the focal point. “We rarely put a ton of decorations up because the fireplace is beautiful and the scenery itself is decorative,” Alicia adds. A well vetted vendor list and excellent service make Spearfish Canyon Lodge perfect for couples wanting a destination wedding. From small, intimate weddings to larger scale weddings, Spearfish Canyon Lodge can accommodate. Brides and grooms have several different packages to pick from depending on the time of year, number of guests and number of lodging rooms needed. The Lodge’s sports center is located across the street and has multiple options for guests to explore the outdoors. The knowledgeable staff can help with trail selection for a hike, fly fishing equipment rental, and snowmobile and UTV rentals. A destination wedding gives brides and grooms the chance to get away from it all with their closest family and friends to celebrate the best, most meaningful day of their lives. The location and scenery at Spearfish Canyon Lodge, along with their helpful, creative, and courteous staff makes it the perfect location to celebrate your love and commitment to one another.

hances are you’ve been to the Bismarck Event Center for a basketball game, convention, or the Pride of Dakota Holiday Showcase, but have you been there for a wedding? The essentially blank slate allows couples to plan the wedding of their dreams. No idea is too grand and as long as it fits within the Event Center’s policies, the staff works hard to fulfill a couple’s vision.

venue

“One of the most unique things about the Event Center is that you customize the space,” explains sales and marketing manager Amanda Yellow. To help couples plan the configuration of the floor, event planners Chantal Woolard and Kelly Wald use diagramming software. “Our program does a phenomenal job of showing the bride and groom how the room will be laid out so that when they arrive on their wedding day they know exactly what it will look like,” Chantal explains. The software also assists in the ever-difficult orchestration of a seating plan. A TO Z CREATIVE

Chantal Woolard and Kelly Wald | Bismarck Event Center 315 S 5th St, Bismarck 701.355.1370 bismarckeventcenter.com

The Event Center offers all-inclusive pricing that includes tables, chairs, house sound, security for the bar and labor. An extensive list of approved caterers allows couples to choose anything from sandwiches from a local sandwich shop to a fully catered sit-down meal for dinner. The couple’s event planner is with them through the course of planning and on their wedding day. “Someone is onsite if there are last minute changes. You’re not passed along in the process. Your event planner is with you from the planning stages to the end of your night,” Amanda explains. If you are looking for a space in downtown Bismarck for your ceremony, the historic Belle Mehus Auditorium is the perfect setting. “The Belle is a beautiful, historic building with a really romantic feel. It has a beautiful interior with great acoustics,” explains Kelly. Walking into the restored theater there is an immediate sense of nostalgia. The curtains can be pulled to reduce the size of the stage making the large space feel very intimate. The downtown location of both the Belle and the Event Center is attractive to brides and grooms. There are great photo opportunities and couples enjoy knowing that guests are centrally located to hotels, restaurants, and shopping. It’s a great way to explore and not worry about getting from point A to point B safely. Whether your dream wedding is a large, elaborate gathering complete with a chariot or it’s an intimate affair, the Bismarck Event Center and Belle Mehus Auditorium can make your wedding day dreams come true.

assie Staiger has been planning dream destination weddings and honeymoons for the last 6 years. Cassie’s company, Curated Travel Co., offers full-service planning for all your travel needs. “We’ve honed in our process and that provides our couples piece of mind,” Cassie explains. Whether you’re booking a European honeymoon, or a tropical destination wedding you can trust your experience is in good hands with Curated Travel Co.

honeymoon

Destination weddings are the perfect way for couples to celebrate the most important day of their lives with their closest family and friends in a unique location. “We ask couples to have an idea of where they want to go and a budget for both them and their guests. We then provide couples with a destination wedding planning guide online,” explains Cassie. Once a destination and resort are decided a wedding specific Facebook page is created by the couple to keep guests up to date on everything wedding. This allows the couple, and Cassie, to stay in contact with guests regarding RSVP’s and deadlines. Cassie explains that it’s important to use an agent as they can bundle hotel, air, and transfers together, so couples and their guests get the best deals. “Destination weddings really simplify the process,” Cassie says, “The bride and groom get more time with their guests and they allow guests to bond and create lifelong friendships.”

Cassie Staiger | Curated Travel Co. 701.751.7060 curatedtravelco.com

When it comes to the honeymoon Cassie wants her couples to know that taking that post-wedding trip is possible. “Couples should have a good idea of what they want to spend, when they want to travel, and an idea of where they want to go,” suggests Cassie. Knowing that information helps Cassie customize the honeymoon to both the bride’s and groom’s wants. She likes to add touches that make each trip different and special like a romantic spa treatment or champagne and strawberries with a handwritten note. Curated Travel Co. continues to assist a couple and their guests once they go wheels up. Cassie offers a comprehensive itinerary planning service that conveniently places your trip itinerary in an easy to access app that syncs with all smart devices. “We take pride in providing our clients with the best local experiences which is why we offer an itinerary creation service. It includes everything from tour booking, transportation guidance, restaurant suggestions and reservations, city guides, and travel tips,” Cassie explains. Cassie is passionate about travel herself and loves facilitating incredible experiences for couples. She hopes that by providing such memorable experiences she’s creating clients for life.

our sweetheart got down on one knee and you’ve said ‘Yes!’ Now what?! It’s easy to begin stressing out about your wedding day because staying organized and on top of ‘To Do’ lists while planning the perfect ceremony and reception can be daunting. The team at Glance Salon’s goal is to help melt that stress away and to get to know you as a person, as well as a bride. “We get to know our brides on a personal level. We truly do care,” explains Jessica Tergesen Internal Training Program Director and stylist at Glance Salon. The wedding industry moves quickly and that includes booking hair and makeup appointments. “It’s never too early to book. When you’re scheduling your church and venue you should be thinking about hair and makeup, too,” Jessica advises. Once a bride has booked her day at Glance Salon she’s encouraged to go in for a trial and run through her wedding day look. Stylist Macy Nelson likes to sit down with her brides and talk about their days, “I like to find out all the little details. What are they thinking for hair and makeup, is the wedding at a church or venue, is it rustic or glam, and just really get on a personal level with the bride,” she explains.

Andrea Birst | Glance Salon 407 N 4th St, Bismarck 701.751.1893 glancesalon.com

On the day of the wedding, relaxation and comfort are the name of the game at Glance Salon. “One thing that sets us apart is that we work really hard to offer a comfortable environment the morning of the wedding. We have a nice little breakfast set up with champagne or coffee. It’s a stress reliever and the bridal parties are relaxed,” explains Glance owner Andrea Birst, “It’s almost like a mini bachelorette party before they start their day.” Because typical wedding parties can be anywhere from six to twelve people and groups that size require the whole Glance team, the bride and her bridal party almost always have the salon to themselves. The biggest reward for the stylists at Glance is seeing the joy on a bride’s face when she shares her day. “Our brides share videos and photos with us and that’s what it’s all about. When you think about it, you remember your wedding for the rest of your life. It’s really cool that our stylists get to be a part of their big day,” smiles Andrea. Stylist Kaitlin Rahrich agrees, “It’s a really special job. You get to make people feel beautiful because of what you do.”

Desirae has 12 years of experience working for brands like Bare Minerals and Jane Iredale, she’s taught classes on both makeup and skin care, and she has her esthetician’s license. Always researching quality products Desirae carries a wide variety of clean, natural skin care and makeup lines. “There’s a need for it here in Bismarck so that’s what I’ve focused on, natural skin care, makeup, and body care, too,” she explains.

When it comes to bridal makeup Desirae suggests starting with a consultation so she can meet the bride and do a trial run before the wedding day. On the day of the wedding Desirae welcomes the entire bridal party to the Beauty Lounge and encourages the group to make themselves at home. “The thing brides don’t know about my place is that they can make it a whole morning. Wedding parties can bring in their own food and everything,” Desirae explains. She also welcomes photographers so every minute of a bride’s day can be captured. The best part of Desirae’s job is creating lasting relationships with her clients. After a bride is married Desirae often has her return for maternity photos, family photos, and special event makeup. Desirae has started booking private groups, like bachelorette parties, to teach a class or do their makeup before an evening on the town. As a trained esthetician Desirae offers consultations on skin care routines. Her skin care expertise is helpful for everyone from pre-teens to those with mature skin. Desirae loves sharing her knowledge and has launched a new website www.desiraesbeautylounge.com. For tutorials, product reviews, and a glimpse into the life of a makeup professional be sure to check out her website and visit Facebook @desiraesbeautylounge and Instagram @desiraesbeautylounge. Anytime she can share her passion Desirae is game, “Sometimes it feels like I’m playing all day. I think to myself ‘Is this really a job?,’” she smiles.

acey Nesland has taken the Bismarck/Mandan floral world by storm and has made a big impact in a few short years. The Rustic Petals owner’s passion, creativity, and natural talent lend themselves perfectly to the ever-changing floral design industry. “I have my own style that draws people in,” Jacey says. A self-proclaimed perfectionist, Jacey loves her job and enjoys knowing her arrangements can completely transform a photo, a venue, and even an entire day.

The process of booking your florist shouldn’t be complicated. “If a bride comes in prepared for our consultation it should take 20 minutes,” Jacey explains. During a free consultation Jacey sits down with each bride and they talk through the bride’s vision for her wedding day. She encourages brides to bring inspiration photos and prepare a list of everyone that will need flowers. Having a good idea of exactly what floral you’ll need on your wedding day helps Jacey put together a budget conscious proposal. Include centerpieces, corsages and boutonnieres, bride and bridal party bouquets as well as alter and memory arrangements. Jacey’s advice to future brides is to book a florist early. Instant gratification is the norm these days, but some things still take time, and that includes wedding flowers. Most wedding publications suggest booking a florist two months before a wedding, but if you’re set on Rustic Petals, you’ll need to book much earlier. “In 2019 we did 75 weddings and we’re booking about a year out,” Jacey says, “It’s never too early to book so get ahead of the game.” Jacey Nesland | Rustic Petals 1929 N Washington St, Bismarck 701.751.7655 bismarckflowershop.com

While wedding trends are ever changing, a few trends in floral have stayed consistent. “We’re still seeing a lot of burgundy, whites, blushes, and eucalyptus,” Jacey explains. A newer trend is silks. “Nobody in town preserves flowers anymore so I’ve done a whole wedding with fresh flowers except for the bride. The bridal bouquet was silk because she wanted to keep it forever.” Each Rustic Petals wedding is customizable, ensuring that no two weddings are the same. While colors and themes can be similar, Jacey likes to add small, creative touches that ensure her brides have unique bouquets and floral arrangements. If Jacey had free reign to design any kind of floral for a wedding, she’d include color. “I’d like to see vibrant colors and I love unique things,” she says. Jacey pours her heart and soul into each of her weddings and putting a smile on her bride’s faces is her priority. “Every bride has a vision and I get to bring it to life,” smiles Jacey.

y now you’ve realized the amount of planning that goes into weddings. While there’s value in being organized and creating lists, your wedding ceremony shouldn’t be one of the boxes you mindlessly check off. It should be meaningful, personal, and exactly what you want. Pastor Mike Kraemer can provide all those things and more. “I want the whole process to be fun and meaningful. I want to bring the stress level of the bride way down so by the time we get to the ceremony she knows that this is going to be the wedding she’s dreamt about since she was a little girl,” explains Pastor Mike. For a couple wanting a traditional wedding ceremony in an untraditional venue Pastor Mike is your man. He’s been performing ceremonies outside of the traditional church setting for the last three years. He takes his faith and role as pastor seriously and connects well with people who may not have a church but know they want traditional vows. “I can work with couples that have done their research and have everything planned and I can work with couples that have no idea where to start,” explains Pastor Mike. With a couple beginning the process of finding a pastor, Pastor Mike likes to meet for coffee. “I want people to see me and talk to me,” he explains. “If it’s going to be a meaningful ceremony, I want to get to know them. I want to know what they like, what their hobbies are, and how they met so we can put together a meaningful wedding,” he adds. His calendar fills up quickly so be sure to contact Pastor Mike soon after your engagement to begin the process.

Pastor Mike enjoys meeting with couples five to six times before their ceremony. Through these meetings they work on ensuring the couple’s perfect wedding. Couples quickly realize that all the preparation isn’t just about the ceremony, it’s really preparation for the rest of their lives together. Pastor Mike’s favorite thing about weddings is building life-long relationships. He says, “I tell couples upfront that, for the rest of their marriage, I want to be there for them. I want to help in any way I can.” This goes for two, five, or fifteen years down the road. “My hope is when my couples are going through major events or they need advice they’ll come to me. They’re stuck with me for the rest of their lives,” Pastor Mike says with a smile.
