CHAMBER EDC SEEKS TO EMPOWER WOMEN IN BUSINESS
At the start of Women’s History Month, it is only fitting that we introduced a new class geared toward the women of the Bismarck-Mandan business community: Empowering Women in Business.
“Empowering Women in Business class came about because we saw a need within the community,” said program manager Christine Nelson, Vice President of Sales and Events for the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC. “We wanted to fill the gap, and what better way than to bring women together to learn, discuss and hit on hard truth of what it means to be a woman in business.”

The first cohort of Empowering Women in Business is limited to 16 participants who will cover a number of topics during the six month program. More specifically, participants will take part in the following discussions:
April 18th: Initial Personality Test
May 16th: Crucial Conversations
June 20th: Stepping into the Shoes of an Assertive Leader Part 1 (Cultivating Empathy, Speaking Up & Communicating Well)
July 18th: Stepping into the Shoes of an Assertive Leader Part 2 (Building Confidence)
August 15th: Establishing Your Work - Life Balance
September 19th: Leading and Empowering Others
“This class explores what it means to be a leader in the business world,” Nelson said. “Not only will the attendees gain a valuable network of other women in business, but these women will build confidence in the skill set and learn how to challenge norms in a professional manner.”
The inaugural class of Empowering Women is Business is sold out. Registration will open for the 2024 class late 2023/early 2024. To learn more about the class, please contact Chamber EDC Vice President – Sales & Events, Christine Nelson, at 701-223-5660 or cnelson@bmcedc. com.
