LARSON WINS LBMAA DISTINGUISHED ALUMNA AWARD
Amber Larson was awarded the Leadership Bismarck-Mandan Alumni Association Distinguished Alumna Award for 2023 at the Leadership Bismarck-Mandan graduation. Each year an award is presented to a past graduate of the Leadership Bismarck-Mandan program who has used leadership knowledge and skills to benefit Bismarck-Mandan. Larson graduated from Leadership Bismarck-Mandan in 2018.
Amber Larson is a great leader in Bismarck-Mandan. She is employed by Bartlett & West, and she serves on the Chamber EDC Board of Directors. Amber Larson and her husband, Jon, own Larson’s Tattooing in Mandan and have been great leaders to the other small business owners in the community. She served as Mandan City Commissioner for a four-year term — part of which was during the COVID-19 pandemic. She was not afraid to dig into the details, ask questions, and ultimately make the best decision for her community — even if that meant putting her own opinions to the side.

During Amber Larson’s term as a Mandan City Commissioner, she brought back the Youth Commission, which has now evolved into a Youth Engagement Initiative to give youth a voice in the community, help give them real-world experience to be leaders in their community and hopefully want to return to the community to raise their family one day. Her employer has said “Through her leadership within our company and the region, Amber exemplifies Bartlett & West’s purpose of serving others and leading our communities to a better tomorrow.”
