HARD TOP JAW
BISON’s 2-, 3- and 4-jaw Power Chucks as well as our Special Chucks with or without through-holes are made from high quality forged alloy steel. The fundamental advantages of these Power Chucks are: high load carrying capacity, durability, high gripping accuracy, and repeatability.

All BISON Power Chuck bodies are carbonized and hardened to 60 HRC. All bodies and relevant working parts are finely ground, enabling the final product to be precise with excellent mechanical properties. The result is a rugged chuck that meets the highest sliding, stability and durability parameters with the most effective price/performance ratio in the market – as is usual with BISON.

Gripping force loss during chuck rotation was determined for a chuck with hard top jaws. It is largely independent of the initial gripping force at zero speed.
To obtain the specified total gripping force the chuck has to be in a proper technical condition.

Upper curve: minimum centrifugal force of the jaws Lower curve: maximum centrifugal force of the jaws
Example: For chuck 2409 size 315 mm and the gripping force of 5000 daN, the total gripping force is approx. 11.700 daN
