TREND REQUEST S pring 2018

Written and Compiled by BISOUS FASHION As Winter lingers on and Spring rapidly approaches there are some styles being carried over from FALL that you can easily transition into your new Spring Wardrobe. Here are some of our favorites and well for the first time we thought we would share our least favorite as well. In our opinion we feel some trends would be better left in the past and not reinvented‌.ever.

We love how designers are joining forces with artists and bringing a whimsical feel to Spring in both full dress or interesting appliquĂŠ.

I Spy Oh a good trench is like a life saver in both style and practicality. And trench coats or variations of the loved staple were all over the Spring runway. Be your own style agent, you can’t go wrong with this trend this season.

Here we go. It’s almost as if Courtney Love had a stake in these designers companies. Listen folks, it’s not like we’re opposed to lingerie type styling, there’s just a classy way and a not so classy way to pull it off. So who do you want to be a 90s punk trailer park queen or Hollywood glamour princess? We vote for princess.

Plastics? From hats to skirts the slicker made quite an appearance on the catwalk. I suppose if you live in a rainy city it’s a sublime combination of style and sensibility. For us in Los Angeles it’s a little sticky.

#BTS FENDI Karl Lagerfeld’s relationship with Fendi is a collaboration that began in 1965 and has continued uninterrupted for more than 50 years. “It’s the longest collaboration in fashion,” the designer says proudly of his record contract. “No one has lived long enough to do it for such a long time, and I’m not tired of it at all. I even think I work better today and have a clearer head. My work is a bigger priority now than when I was younger, and it’s a very good thing.” Lagerfeld invented the double “F” logo—one upside down, snuggled together, which stood for “fun furs”—and is still used today.

After a thrilling Five year anniversary issue, we decided to slow things down and deliver a tight Pre-Spring Issue. Mostly, we wanted to portray a journeyman, a traveler a issue that welcomed the seeker of adventure. As it turned out in our quest to curate not only dynamic but interesting images and new talent we realized for the first time we would be simultaneously placing the same model on both the cover and inside beauty cover without realizing it. Both editorials were shot by different photographers at different times and it was obvious they both recognized a star when they saw her. We look forward to watching this model as she works through the ranks to what we can only imagine to be a wonderful journey for her. As always we would like to give thanks to all of our contributors, staff and followers who keep Bisous alive. Without you, we wouldn’t be here!

KATE SOMERVILLE

LA PRAIRIE

KateCeuticals Clinic Reserve

Anti-Aging Eye & Lip Perfection à Porter

$250 www.nordstrom.com

If you've tried ExfoliKate, a cultfavorite exfoliator, you know the magic Kate Somerville holds. There are so many products you should get your hands on, but one standout is a new launch from 2017: Clinic Reserve ($250). This cream is perfect if you're notoriously dry, lacking bouncy skin, and want your face to feel refreshed — but not weighed down by heavy moisturizers.

$180 www.bloomingdales.com

This compact is one of the more affordable products from the line. The adorable set comes with both a luxurious eye cream gel and lip balm, meant to protect and plump both areas of your face. And it's decadent and portable, which makes it perfect for someone who travels frequently.

SUNDAY RILEY

Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream $65 www.bloomingdales.com

I've discussed at length how I believe this is the best moisturizer on the market right now, especially for those of us who are combating both oily and dry areas. Sunday Riley has revolutionized the skin care industry by setting trends — oils never were the same until the brand created Juno and Luna. Tidal hydrates and disappears without drying out the skin, and it works gorgeously as a primer before makeup.

OMOROVICZA

DRUNK ELEPHANT

Thermal Cleansing Balm

T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial

$110 www.violetgrey.com

$80 www.sephora.com

Omorovicza originates in Budapest, where the largest thermal lake in the world exists. It's there that the brand pros get the Hungarian Moor Mud for the Thermal Cleansing Balm, which detoxes and purifies the skin. This is easily one of my favorite makeup removers because it doesn't require a double cleanse, leaves the skin soft with sweet almond oil, and never feels greasy like many other makeup removing balms can. Also, the black color makes it a lot cooler than traditional cleansing balms, and probably why it has taken off on Instagram.

Drunk Elephant has emerged as a new power player in the beauty space. The fun name, pretty packaging, and effective products have created legions of devoted consumers.

GOLDFADEN MD Doctor's Scrub

$75 www.revolve.com

If Kate Hudson loves it, I'm willing to give it a try. Goldfaden MD's Doctor's Scrub is a fine, velvety scrub that seemingly sloughs off every dead skin cell from your face in one fell swoop. Unlike many physical scrubs, this one isn't harsh, and your skin will feel as smooth as as balloon after using it.

BISOUS BEAUTY CERAMIRACLE

FIRST LIGHT The Serum $89 www.nordstrom.com

Convenient all-in-one to replace your regular moisturizer, serum and essence, A phytosqualane based, 95% active beauty concentrate containing natural actives inspired by the vernix caseosa - the thick, white wax-like substance that coats babies for weeks before they are born. The Serum mimics the intense hydration, skin nourishing and protective properties of the vernix to bring back baby soft skin for you. Just a few drops will instantly revitalize skin, refresh and smooth your complexion. Use it on its own or with a moisturizer for firmer, radiant, toned and younger looking skin. Benefits include instant hydration & rejuvenates, and diminished appearance of lines and wrinkles.

EXO FACE

Naturals & Organics with Zen 3 Exosomes Bio digital Perfection Moisturizer

$118 www.exoskinsimple. com

Groundbreaking Antiaging & Hydration. The responsive formulation heralds a major biotech innovation, superserving skin with next-gen natural ingredients and 150 million+ Zen exosomes for groundbreaking anti-aging, hydration and brightening.

RENÉE ROULEAU Anti Cyst Treatment

$46 www.reneerouleau.com

Celebrity esthetician Renée Rouleau created Anti Cyst to take down the size of inflamed blemishes. The key is the ethyl lactate and citric acid, which helps minimize throbbing, painful cysts on the skin. Use it on your back, for ingrown hairs, or for any bulbous cyst that appears on your face — these types of breakouts aren't meant to come to a head, and it's important to calm them down and not pick them.

SK-II

Facial Treatment Essence $99 www.nordstrom.com

Japan is always ahead of the game when it comes to beauty innovation. Japanese brand SK-II has been using active ingredient Pitera for decades, creating one of the first potent essences on the market. The Facial Treatment Essence is made of over 90 percent Pitera, which gently exfoliates the skin with each use. It's recommended that you soak a cotton pad and press it into the skin instead of rubbing, or pour into the palm of your hand and gently press it into the skin.

FRESH

Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask $92 www.sephora.com

This is another product I've used for over a decade: Fresh Black Tea Instant Perfecting Mask. It's whipped consistency goes on the skin and cools it down, while the black tea helps to give your skin a little pick-meup. Not to mention it smells like an aromatic tea, which is calming and delightful.

RADICAL SKINCARE Anti-Aging Eye & Lip Perfection à Porter

$180 www.bloomingdales.com

If you have lines around your eyes, this is one of the only products you should be using. Rachel and Liz Edlich are the "sisters on a mission" behind Radical Skincare. The line was influenced by their father Dr. Richard F. Edlich MD.PHD, a world renowned Professor of Plastic Surgery, which is why many of these products are so potent. The Age-Defying Exfoliating Pads have alpha and beta hydroxy acids to gently exfoliate away dead skin and reveal a brighter, radiant complexion. It also helps make your pores look smaller, and I like to use them as a way to prep my skin for other products. It's one of the only products I've used around my eyes without issue.

SISLEY PARIS

Black Rose Skin Infusion Cream

$195 www.bloomingdales.com

Skin feeling deflated? Sisley Paris Black Rose Skin Infusion Cream ($195) is here to plump. You. UP! This cream is the skin care equivalent of Arnold Schwarzenegger: it does the heavy lifting and it's so popular, it could run for office. You will notice an immediate difference in the texture of your skin, and over time, the luminosity of your skin will be completely revamped thanks to — wait for this doozy — Alkekengi calyx extract. Yeah. I struggled pronouncing it too, but it's the key to the plumping effect the cream has.

For The Blonds’ Spring/ Summer 2018 runway show at New York Fashion Week, CND supplied long, intricate nails with glittering, tropical designs that echoed the inspiration for the collection. The nails include many 3D elements, such as birds of paradise, hibiscus, crystals, scorpion tails, and floral lace, as well as glow-in-the-dark elements and lots of glitter. Jan Arnold, Co-founder and Creative Director for CND, guided the CND Design Lab team with creative lead Shelena Robinson. Having provided nail art for The Blonds many times before, Arnold is familiar with their decadent, outthere styles. “ Their collections are so captivating, so rich in exquisite detail, that they go beyond fashion to create an enchanting universe all their own. Like the Blonds, CND has a passion for creating looks that transcend style to tell a story. We truly cherish David and Phillipe as creative collaborators, and working with them season after season is our idea of paradise.” images courtesy of CND

MENS TRENDS S pring 2018

compiled by BISOUS MENS written by Shelli Wright

Fall to Spring didn’t really change much. We are still seeing the same type of designing that has been mostly prevalent for the last few years with just a few tweaks here and there. In fact some trends it would seem have ran their course and they should probably just go away. Here’s a combination of what you can see in Men’s trends as we transition into Spring.

Men in jumpsuits. This trend hit the scene a few years ago and for whatever reason less it be pure comfort perhaps it hasn’t left yet. Prada’s Spring line for instance was one marching down the runway after another. I for one vote that the jumpsuit or overall stay in the shop.

Cubano Perhaps it’s the opening of the border into Cuba or maybe the assortment of playful vintage type film making that has brought the high waisted pant back into the men’s wardrobe. Either way, not sure if it’s a good or bad thing, I think it’s a can you pull it off thing.

Hawaiian prints, palm trees and the scent of the south Pacific. Yes the god awful printed shirt is back! And it’s not just the shirt it’s sweaters, ties, jackets and pants to boot. I’m all for a good Tropical print on holiday….but I don’t really want to see my stock broker wear one.

“I wanted the runway to feel like a real street, wide and long, with this idea of the way people mix codes,” said Andreas Melbostad, who pushed a Nineties grunge-meets-skater vibe through a tech-sport filter. It worked equally well for the men’s and women’s, as the brand’s first show split evenly between the two, with the feel of kids throwing their own looks together.
