JANUARY 26th marks an important day for both Australia and India, albeit for different reasons. In Australia, it is celebrated as Australia Day, a day to commemorate the arrival of the First Fleet at Port Jackson in 1788, marking the beginning of British colonization. On the other hand, in India, January 26th is celebrated as Republic Day, a day that honours the adoption of the Indian Constitution in 1950, marking the country's transition to a republic. While these two national days commemorate distinct historical events, they also provide a platform to reflect on the deepening ties between the two nations and their shared values.
Australia Day is celebrating National
Identity. Australia Day has evolved from a day of British colonization to one of national reflection. While it initially celebrated the arrival of the First Fleet, it has become a broader celebration of Australian culture, diversity, and achievements. For many Australians, this day is marked by festivities, parades, barbecues, and fireworks. It’s a day that showcases the country’s diverse population, including Indigenous Australians, immigrants, and citizens from all walks of life.
However, Australia Day is also a contentious day for many Indigenous Australians, as it represents the beginning of colonization, which led to dispossession, displacement, and the
marginalization of Indigenous cultures. For some, January 26th is observed as a "Day of Mourning" or "Invasion Day," where protests and reflections are held on the impact of British colonization on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
The debate over how to commemorate Australia Day has sparked ongoing conversations about reconciliation, justice, and the need to acknowledge the history of Australia's First Nations peoples. Calls for changing the date or establishing a more inclusive national holiday are part of a broader conversation about how Australia can reconcile its colonial past and move toward a more unified future.

JD Media: Shaping the Media Landscape and Becoming the Voice of Australian Indians
IN the evolving media landscape, JD Media has carved out a distinct space that not only reflects the changing dynamics of Australian society but also gives a voice to a key and often underrepresented community – the Indian diaspora. JD Media has emerged as a powerful force in Australian media, transforming how stories of Indian Australians are told and influencing public perception across the nation.
A NEW ERA OF MEDIA REPRESENTATION
Australia is home to a rapidly growing Indian community, which has become one of the most vibrant and diverse ethnic groups in the country. As the Indian Australian population continues to expand, so does the demand for media that speaks to their experiences, values, and aspirations. JD Media recognized this gap early on and set out to create a platform that would serve as a bridge between India and Australia while highlighting the unique voices of Australian Indians.
Since its inception, JD Media has been at the forefront of reshaping the media landscape in Australia, offering a fresh perspective and telling stories that resonate with both the Indian diaspora and the broader Australian public. Through its diverse range of content, JD Media is not just a media company –it’s a cultural movement, a platform for authentic voices, and an advocate for change.
BRIDGING TWO WORLDS
One of the defining characteristics of JD Media is its ability to bridge the cultural divide between India and Australia. It has successfully created content that connects the rich cultural heritage of India with the Australian experience, making it relatable to both communities. JD Media reflect the challenges, triumphs, and everyday realities of Indian Australians – from issues of identity and belonging to the celebration of milestones in their journey of integration into Australian society.
Whether through its digital platforms, television programs, or social media presence, JD Media is constantly breaking barriers by creating content that speaks to the evolving identity of the Australian Indian community. This not only caters to the growing Indian Australian
demographic but also helps educate and engage the broader Australian public about the richness of Indian culture and the contributions of this community to Australian society.
EMPOWERING AUSTRALIAN INDIANS
In a media landscape traditionally dominated by mainstream narratives, JD Media is providing a platform for Australian Indians to be heard, seen, and understood. Community engagement reflects the diversity of the Indian Australian experience, JD Media empowers individuals within this community to embrace their heritage while celebrating their Australian identity. There are celebrations which highlight the rich culture as well as empowerment.
The International Women’s Day Celebration which will be held on March 8 by Deo Family Charitable Foundation is a typical example of empowering the women and awarding them for their contribution to wider community. This inspires the future leaders and diaspora to continue doing work which enriches the society.
A VOICE OF ADVOCACY
JD Media is a voice of advocacy for the rights and recognition of Australian Indians. It actively engages in important social issues, from promoting multiculturalism and inclusivity to addressing racism and discrimination. In a time when the Indian Australian community faces challenges related to social cohesion, JD Media is making a significant impact by highlighting these issues, sparking discussions, and driving social change.
By focusing on pressing issues such as cultural integration, mental health, and education, JD Media is helping shape public opinion and creating awareness about the challenges faced by the Indian community. This advocacy not only brings awareness to these issues but also promotes positive change by encouraging dialogue between diverse communities and fostering mutual understanding.
SHAPING AUSTRALIAN MEDIA CONTENT
JD Media’s influence is expanding beyond the Indian Australian community, as it shapes the broader media narrative in
Australia. Its content is making an impact on how Indian culture is perceived by the general Australian public. Through its innovative approach to media production, JD Media is showcasing the richness of Indian traditions, art, food, and values, contributing to the growing appreciation of multiculturalism in Australia.
As Australia’s media landscape becomes increasingly diverse, JD Media is setting a precedent for how ethnic communities can create content that reflects their unique cultural experiences. By doing so, it is opening doors for other minority communities to follow suit, encouraging a more inclusive and representative media ecosystem.
THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION: REACHING A GLOBAL AUDIENCE
In an era of digital transformation, JD Media is leveraging the power of technology and social media to expand its reach far beyond the Australian borders. The company’s online presence, including its website, social media platforms, and video content, allows it to connect with not just Australian Indians but also audiences in India and around the world. This global reach has allowed JD Media to amplify the voices of Australian Indians, making them heard on a larger stage and ensuring that their stories are shared with a broader audience.
Through its digital platforms, JD Media has tapped into the growing appetite for online content that celebrates multiculturalism and diversity. The company’s engaging video formats, insightful articles, and interactive social media campaigns are reaching younger generations of Australian Indians who are increasingly engaged in the digital world. This digital revolution has solidified JD Media’s role as a key player in the changing media landscape, providing Australian Indians with an accessible platform to share their stories, connect with others, and engage with content that speaks to their lived experiences.
A BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD
Australian Indian Times 2/3 Curban Street Underwood, QLD 4119 or E-mail: admin@jdmediacorp.com.au
Looking ahead, JD Media's potential to continue shaping the media landscape in Australia is limitless. The company is poised to expand its influence even further, creating new opportunities for Australian Indians to be represented, heard, and celebrated. By continually adapting to the needs of its audience and embracing new media technologies, JD Media is setting new standards for what it means to be inclusive, authentic, and representative in the media industry. It is, without a doubt, becoming the voice of Australian Indians, and in doing so, helping to shape a more connected and culturally rich future for the entire nation.
Australia Introduces Skills in Demand Visa: Spotlight on Core and Specialist Skills Streams
AUSTRALIA has revamped its migration system with the introduction of the Skills in Demand Visa, replacing the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) Visa (Subclass 482). At the heart of this change are two new streams—the Core Skills Stream and the Specialist Skills Stream. These streams focus on addressing critical workforce gaps in essential and high-skill sectors, making the visa more aligned with the country’s current labour market demands.
WHY THE FOCUS ON CORE AND SPECIALIST SKILLS?
The Skills in Demand Visa aims to fix limitations in the previous TSS visa by offering more targeted solutions. While the Labour Agreement and Subsequent Entrant streams remain unchanged, the Core Skills Stream and Specialist Skills Stream introduce much-needed flexibility for employers and better opportunities for skilled workers. These new streams provide clear pathways to address both essential workforce shortages and specialized skills gaps.
The Core Skills Stream ensures that employers can fill critical roles in industries such as healthcare, education, and skilled trades, all of which face acute labour shortages. This stream supports businesses struggling to find local talent by offering a temporary but structured solution.
KEY DETAILS:
• Stay Duration: Up to 4 years (5 years for Hong Kong passport holders).
• Eligibility: Applicants must be nominated to work in an occupation listed on the Core Skills Occupation List (CSOL).
YOU MUST:
• Be nominated to work in a CSOL occupation.
• Have at least 1 year of relevant work experience in the nominated occupation or a related field.
• Complete a relevant skills assessment if required.
• Work only for your sponsor or their associated entity, unless exempt.
This stream offers employers the flexibility to secure talent in essential roles while giving skilled workers access to stable, rewarding opportunities in sectors vital to the Australian economy.
The Specialist Skills Stream targets advanced roles requiring unique expertise. This stream enables employers to hire workers for highly specialized positions, ensuring Australia remains competitive in fields like IT, engineering, and medical sciences.
KEY DETAILS:
• Stay Duration: Up to 4 years (5 years for Hong Kong passport holders).
• Eligibility: Applicants must be nominated for roles listed in Major Groups 1, 2, 4, 5, or 6 under the Australian and New Zealand Standard Classification of Occupations (ANZSCO).

Celebrating Women, Community, and Leadership: A Month of Reflection and Action
HAPPY Holi and International Women’s Day! A heartfelt thank you to every woman and female caregiver for the important work you do. As someone raised by a single mum, I’ve seen firsthand how difficult life can be for so many in our community. She has worked tirelessly to ensure that I, and others around us, lead joyful, peaceful, and loving lives. I’m incredibly proud of her and all the women who make such a positive impact. Every woman has a unique journey, and every story is important and should be shared. We’re so fortunate to have so many intelligent, caring, and hardworking women from the Indian diaspora and all over the world, shaping our communities and paving the way for future generations.
This month, I had the privilege of spending time with some very special women in both my personal life and the community. I want to begin by acknowledging Shanjeshni Deo, who has been the heart and backbone of so many community projects. Her efforts have supported young people like me in reaching our full potential. I was an honour to join the Deo family at the Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) Australia Day Celebration in Sunnybank. A special thank you to FICQ President Dr. Preethi Suraj, who made history as the first female president in the organization’s 26-year history. Her leadership and dedication to uniting, supporting, and inspiring the next generation of female leaders is truly remarkable.
I’m also lucky that Dr. Suraj lives in my neighbourhood. Recently, many people have
expressed the desire for more representation from women, particularly those from Indian and multicultural backgrounds, in local, state, and federal government positions. There’s a growing call for leaders who reflect the diversity of communities in areas like Springfield, Inala, Oxley, and throughout Queensland. With the Federal Election approaching, many of us are hopeful to see more women from Indian and culturally diverse backgrounds stepping up to represent us. I loved the Hon. Shayne Neumann speech about the importance about cultural diversity, leadership and building relationships with India and Australia. My years of knowing the Honourable Federal Member for Ipswich, he has always supporting member of the Indian community and attended important event that promote preserving our mother language. He was very supportive of an Indian Candidate in Ipswich early last year. Neetu made history as the first female of Indian heritage to nominate for council. She is proud of her faith, her brown skin, her ability to speak more than one language and most of all her Indian heritage. For many, it’s a proud moment to see women like Neetu be the change the people want to see. She was not successful on this occasion, however, she has made her community proud and
with her determination I hope to call her councillor one day, I wish her all the best. It was also a pleasure to attend the 8th Anniversary Celebration of Shree Vishnu Maya Mandir, hosted by Usha Chandra and her husband Umesh Chandra. The event was truly special thanks to MC Umesh Chandra and the team of volunteers who worked hard to bring it all together. Many local leaders and elected officials attended, including Mayor Jon Raven, who spoke about the importance of unity and supporting multiculturalism. Senator Paul Scarr, affectionately known as the "People's Senator, Logan Senator, and Multicultural Senator" also delivered a powerful speech on the value of supporting and uniting our community. His commitment to helping those in need—regardless of ethnicity, background, or location—is truly inspiring. I was honoured to volunteer at the Lions Club of Inala Citizenship Ceremony, where Senator Scarr personally presented certificates of appreciation to volunteers like me. His generosity has now donated to our Lions Club Backpack Project, which will help
more children start school on equal footing and gives a child who needs a smile a much needed backpack.
The hot topic this month, is the upcoming federal election. I encourage everyone to read up on the policies and decisions that will affect you. Take the time to talk to candidates, ask them about their values, and find out what they’ve delivered for the community or individuals. While party politics can often dominate the conversation, remember that individual leaders can truly make a difference. This election will have a direct impact on young people, seniors, and families, so be sure your vote reflects your priorities. Please reach out if you would like to learn more. The surveys found that international relations, government decision, and economics is important. Next month, I will be focusing more on issues, like NDIS, Education, Migration, Health, international relations, the reserve bank and rise of interest rates and food (GDP) etc. Recently many people have been concerned about the rising cost of passports, changes
made to immigration policies, and cost of living increasing, and workplace rights changes and taxs, and environment, and Domestic and Family Violence. Please reach out if there is a particular topic you are interested in. This month, let’s continue celebrating the spirit of community by attending the Festival of Colours in Brisbane, hosted by Platinum Events Services Gold Coast on March 8, 2025. A big thank you to President Manish for ensuring we can come together and celebrate Holi—the Festival of Colours— which symbolizes love, the arrival of spring, and the triumph of good over evil.

This stream ensures Australian businesses can access the global talent pool for positions where local expertise is limited while providing skilled workers with a pathway to contribute to critical projects and industries.
HOW THESE STREAMS BENEFIT EMPLOYERS AND WORKERS
FOR EMPLOYERS:
The Core and Specialist Skills Streams allow businesses to attract workers for both essential and advanced roles. Employers gain a competitive edge by filling hard-to-staff positions quickly, with streamlined processes for accredited sponsors.

AUSTRALIA DAY AND INDIAN REPUBLIC DAY...
CONTD. FROM PG 01
Indian Republic Day is honouring Sovereignty and Democracy. Indian Republic Day, celebrated on January 26th, marks the day in 1950 when India adopted its Constitution and became a republic. While India gained independence from British rule in 1947, the adoption of its Constitution formalized its transition to a democratic republic. The day is celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country, with a grand parade in the capital, New Delhi, showcasing India's military prowess, cultural diversity, and technological advancements. The Republic Day parade is one of the most anticipated events of the year, drawing millions of viewers.
Republic Day is not just a celebration of India's sovereignty; it is a reminder of the values of democracy, justice, and equality embedded in the Indian Constitution. The Preamble of the Indian Constitution outlines the country's commitment to securing justice for all its citizens, irrespective of their background, and promoting a society built on equality, liberty, and fraternity.
These values resonate not only within India but also with countries across the world, including Australia.
STRENGTHENING INDIAAUSTRALIA RELATIONS
India and Australia share
a long-standing relationship, built on mutual respect, shared values, and a commitment to democracy. The ties between the two nations date back to the colonial era, but in recent years, the relationship has grown stronger due to economic, strategic, and cultural factors. Both countries are democracies, with a shared commitment to the principles of freedom, equality, and human rights. These common values provide a solid foundation for a strong and growing partnership.
In terms of trade, India is Australia's fifth-largest trading partner, with bilateral trade valued at over $30 billion.
Australia exports a wide range of goods and services to India, including minerals, agricultural products, and education services. India, on the other hand, is a key market for Australian exports, particularly in the areas of education, resources, and agriculture.
The economic relationship between the two countries has the potential to grow even further, particularly in sectors like technology, renewable energy, and infrastructure.
Australia and India also have a strong defence and security relationship. Both countries are committed to a rules-based international order and have worked closely together in forums such as the Quad (Quadrilateral Security Dialogue), which also includes the United States and Japan.
The Quad aims to promote a free, open, and inclusive IndoPacific region, ensuring peace and stability in the face of rising geopolitical challenges.
Moreover, Australia and India share a strong cultural connection, bolstered by the Indian diaspora in Australia. Over 900,000 people of Indian origin live in Australia, making it one of the fastest-growing communities in the country. This vibrant community plays a crucial role in enhancing cultural ties between the two nations, with Indian festivals such as Diwali and Holi being celebrated widely across Australia. Additionally, the growing interest in Indian cinema, particularly Bollywood, has further deepened the cultural connection.
STRENGTHENING THE BOND BETWEEN INDIA AND AUSTRALIA.
1. Enhancing People-toPeople Ties: One of the most significant ways to strengthen India-Australia relations is by fostering deeper peopleto-people connections. Encouraging greater cultural exchange, tourism, and academic collaboration will enable both nations to learn from each other’s experiences and perspectives. Programs like student exchanges, internships, and collaborative research initiatives can promote mutual understanding and strengthen ties in various fields, including
education, science, and technology.
2. Increasing Trade and Investment: While trade between India and Australia has grown in recent years, there is still immense potential to be unlocked. By facilitating greater investment, particularly in emerging sectors such as clean energy, technology, and infrastructure, both countries can bolster their economic relationship. Trade agreements such as the India-Australia Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) can be expanded and refined to open new opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs.
3. Strengthening Defence and Security Cooperation:
Both India and Australia share common concerns about regional security, particularly in the Indo-Pacific. Enhancing defence cooperation through joint exercises, intelligence sharing, and strategic dialogues can strengthen the partnership between the two countries. The Quad provides a platform for India and Australia to work together with like-minded democracies to ensure peace and stability in the region.
4. Promoting Environmental Cooperation: With both countries facing significant environmental challenges, particularly in relation to climate change, there is an opportunity to collaborate on sustainable development and environmental protection. Joint research
initiatives on renewable energy, water conservation, and climate resilience could serve as a powerful tool for strengthening ties and addressing global challenges.
5. Celebrating Shared Values: Both Australia Day and Indian Republic Day are celebrations of democracy, freedom, and unity in diversity. These shared values can be used as a basis for further collaboration, with both nations working together to promote democratic ideals and human rights on the global stage. By commemorating these values through joint events, dialogues, and partnerships, Australia and India can deepen their cultural and diplomatic bonds.
While Australia Day and Indian Republic Day commemorate different historical events, they provide an opportunity to reflect on the shared values that bind these two nations together. By enhancing people-to-people ties, increasing trade and investment, strengthening defence cooperation, promoting environmental collaboration, and celebrating their shared commitment to democracy, Australia and India can continue to build a lasting and meaningful partnership. The bond between these two nations has the potential to grow even stronger in the coming years, benefiting both countries and contributing to peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
Connecting our younger generation to the wider community
Jitendra Deo Chief Executive Officer JD Group Australia
THE Indian diaspora is one of the largest and most vibrant communities worldwide. With a history of migration stretching back centuries, millions of Indians have settled across the globe, creating rich, diverse, and multifaceted communities. Today, the younger generation of the Indian diaspora faces the dual challenge of maintaining cultural ties with their roots while also integrating into their host societies. As this generation becomes more active in public life, they have a unique opportunity to foster relationships that go beyond ethnic or cultural lines, ultimately contributing to a more inclusive and harmonious society.
EMBRACE MULTICULTURALISM
One of the most effective ways to connect with the wider community is by embracing multiculturalism. The younger generation of the Indian diaspora should take pride in their heritage while also celebrating the cultures around them. Multiculturalism is an essential aspect of many countries today, particularly in nations like Australia, the United States, Canada, and the UK. These societies thrive on the blending of diverse traditions, languages, and perspectives.
The younger diaspora generation can contribute to this vibrant cultural exchange by actively participating in local events, festivals, and activities that promote diversity. Whether it’s through collaborating with community organizations, attending multicultural festivals, or celebrating national holidays of different cultures, Indian youth can foster an environment of mutual respect and appreciation for all cultures.
For example, during events such as Diwali or Holi, young Indians can extend invitations
to friends from different cultural backgrounds to join in the celebrations. In doing so, they not only share their own traditions but also promote understanding and tolerance. Similarly, they can participate in or even host activities around celebrations from other cultures.
PURSUE EDUCATION AND CAREER OPPORTUNITIES THAT PROMOTE INCLUSIVITY
Education and career paths are some of the most effective ways the younger generation can connect with the wider community. By choosing fields that emphasize diversity and inclusivity, such as social work, education, healthcare, and politics, young members of the Indian diaspora can positively impact society.
In education, young Indian diaspora members can work with peers from various backgrounds to address issues related to social justice, inequality, and community development. Universities and schools often provide platforms for organizing multicultural events or initiatives that promote diversity. By participating in such programs, young Indians can create spaces where people of all backgrounds can learn from one another and understand the value of their cultural contributions.
In the workforce, younger generations can choose careers in leadership roles where they can shape policies that promote inclusivity. In the workplace, they can advocate for programs that celebrate cultural diversity and create spaces for people of all backgrounds to feel valued and respected. As role models and community leaders, young Indians can encourage fellow professionals to engage in cross-cultural learning and dialogue, breaking down barriers and building trust between different cultural groups.
VOLUNTEER FOR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND SOCIAL CAUSES
Volunteering is a powerful tool for connecting with the wider community. It offers a practical and effective way for the younger Indian diaspora generation to actively contribute to society,
demonstrate compassion, and build relationships with people from diverse backgrounds. Whether it's through charity events, social initiatives, or environmental projects, volunteering provides a shared purpose that transcends cultural differences.
By getting involved in community-driven causes such as food banks, health drives, or education programs for underprivileged children, young Indian diaspora members can build bridges and demonstrate their commitment to the greater good. Volunteering helps break stereotypes and foster genuine connections with people who may not have had exposure to Indian culture or traditions.
Furthermore, when Indian youth are seen contributing to causes that benefit everyone, they not only gain respect within the broader community but also become ambassadors of goodwill, showing that they care about the welfare of others irrespective of their backgrounds.
LEVERAGE SOCIAL MEDIA FOR POSITIVE ENGAGEMENT
The digital age provides unparalleled opportunities for young people to connect with people globally. Social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook can be used to promote cross-cultural understanding, challenge stereotypes, and share personal experiences.
For the younger generation of the Indian diaspora, social media can serve as a powerful
tool to amplify their voices and showcase the richness of their culture to a global audience.
By creating content that highlights cultural heritage, addressing important social issues, and celebrating diversity, young Indians can help foster an environment of inclusivity. Additionally, these platforms provide a space to engage in meaningful discussions about the challenges and triumphs of growing up as a member of the Indian diaspora, connecting with others who may have similar experiences.
Through online collaborations, live streams, and webinars, young Indian diaspora members can form communities that foster dialogue, cooperation, and mutual respect across cultural lines. Influencers and content creators from the Indian diaspora can collaborate with individuals from other cultural communities, creating a more united and connected digital world.
Build Relationships through Sports and Hobbies
Sports and shared hobbies are an excellent avenue for the younger generation of the Indian diaspora to connect with the wider community. Whether it’s playing cricket with a group of local friends, joining a soccer team, or participating in artistic pursuits like dance or music, engaging in common activities helps build friendships that transcend cultural boundaries.
Sports have the power to unite people from all backgrounds. The younger Indian diaspora
generation can use this to their advantage by forming sports clubs or joining local leagues that include participants from a range of ethnic backgrounds. Cricket, which is immensely popular in India, can serve as an ideal way to connect with people from the wider community who may not be familiar with the sport.
Similarly, hobbies like cooking, arts, and crafts provide opportunities to introduce others to aspects of Indian culture in an informal, enjoyable way. Community centres or local cafes can host cultural cooking classes, art exhibitions, or music nights, where individuals from different backgrounds can come together to appreciate and share their unique traditions.
ENGAGE IN INTERFAITH AND INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUES
One of the most significant ways to foster strong relationships with the wider community is by engaging in interfaith and intercultural dialogues. Many young members of the Indian diaspora have a strong sense of spirituality and faith, whether it be through Hinduism, Sikhism, Islam, Christianity, or other belief systems. By participating in interfaith dialogues, they can help dispel misconceptions, promote respect for different religions, and learn from others’ experiences. Engaging in conversations about religion, philosophy, and spirituality in an open and respectful manner can lead to greater
understanding and tolerance among people of all faiths.
Participating in or hosting interfaith events, attending workshops on cultural awareness, and collaborating with religious institutions from different communities can foster peace and unity.
Additionally, young Indian diaspora members can be active in local government initiatives or community programs aimed at promoting unity and resolving conflicts arising from cultural misunderstandings.
The younger generation of the Indian diaspora is in a unique position to not only maintain a connection with their cultural roots but also to help shape a more inclusive and harmonious future. By embracing multiculturalism, participating in community activities, pursuing careers that promote inclusivity, volunteering, leveraging social media for positive engagement, and building relationships through shared activities, young Indians can bridge gaps between cultures and foster stronger ties with the wider community.
As they take on leadership roles in society, this generation can pave the way for future generations to live in a world where mutual respect, understanding, and collaboration define the cultural landscape. The Indian diaspora's younger generation is the key to nurturing a society that celebrates diversity and promotes unity, ensuring that cultures do not just coexist but thrive together.
Maha Kumbh as interplay of science & spirituality, says Indian sustainability leader
VINEET Mittal, Chairman of Avaada Group, a leading player in India’s renewable energy landscape attended the Maha Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj. Mittal says that he has been an ardent believer in the interplay between science and spirituality, and its relevance to modern life. Mittal is also an advocate for sustainability. Mittal highlighted India’s Legacy of Science, Spirituality, and Sustainability saying the Maha Kumbh is not just a religious gathering, but a showcase of extraordinary scientific understanding of India’s ancient rishis.
Indian Rishis observed planetary alignments and cosmic rhythms thousands of years ago that influence the Earth’s energy fields and human consciousness. According to Indian historians, the Maha Kumbh is based on celestial events such as Jupiter in the zodiac sign Aquarius and the Sun transitioning into Capricorn, aligning with natural energy flows that modern science is only beginning to explore. As part of a unique initiative to promote cultural inclusivity, Avaada Group sponsored a cultural heritage trip for 1,000 individuals from underserved
communities across India, offering them an opportunity to witness the grandeur of the Maha Kumbh and deepen their connection with India’s rich heritage. Mittal feels that experiences such as the Maha Kumbh at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of three revered Hindu rivers namely Ganga, Yamuna

NOW that we are well into January, this is a gentle reminder to remain consistent in your wealth management practices and explore diverse ventures to create multiple income streams.
MANAGING WEALTH: A GREAT WAY TO BE CONSISTENT IN 2025
As of February 2025, it’s the perfect time to reflect on financial strategies and goals. Managing wealth effectively is not just about earning; it’s about creating sustainable systems that allow for growth, security, and future opportunities. Whether you’re an entrepreneur, a professional, or someone looking to get a stronger grip on your financial well-being, now is the time to prioritise strategies
WEALTH MANAGEMENT
that align with your aspirations.
Wealth management is the cornerstone of personal and professional success. For business owners, it goes beyond profit margins—it's about building systems that create value, ensure stability, and provide a solid foundation for expansion. In my own journey, the principles of wealth management have been pivotal in achieving milestones that once seemed distant.
EXPANDING
HORIZONS: MY BUSINESS VENTURES IN 2025
This year marks an exciting phase of growth for my business ventures. With a strong focus on expansion in the real estate sector, the foundation we laid over the past year has prepared us to soar to new heights. Real estate, known for its potential to create generational wealth, has been a key area of focus. Despite the challenges of entering a competitive market, our strategic approach and disciplined financial processes have positioned us for success. In just a short span of time, the structures and foundations of this new venture have become stronger than I could have imagined. Through
a combination of robust financial management, team building, and operational excellence, we’ve created a business that not only meets but exceeds market expectations.
THE PILLARS OF WEALTH MANAGEMENT
So, what drives this success? Effective wealth management rests on three key pillars: planning, investment, and diversification.
1. PLANNING FOR SUCCESS
Clear goals are essential to managing wealth effectively. Setting financial objectives allows you to allocate resources strategically and measure progress over time. For me, detailed planning is at the heart of every business decision. From budgeting to forecasting, having a roadmap ensures that resources are used wisely and aligns short-term actions with long-term vision.
2. SMART INVESTMENTS
Investment decisions shape the future of any wealth management strategy. In my case, diversifying into real estate was a calculated move. Real estate offers
dual benefits: immediate cash flow from rental properties and longterm appreciation of asset values. Strategic investments in the right locations and markets have allowed us to maximize returns while mitigating risks.
3. DIVERSIFICATION ACROSS VENTURES
Running multiple companies requires a careful balance of focus and flexibility. Diversification isn’t just about spreading financial investments; it’s about spreading operational risks. By expanding into different sectors while maintaining a clear vision for each, I’ve ensured that no single setback can destabilize the entire portfolio.
BUILDING STRONG FOUNDATIONS
The strength of any business lies in its foundation. Over the years, I’ve worked tirelessly to create processes that ensure operational efficiency and financial stability. These systems allow me to manage multiple ventures without compromising the quality of output or the well-being of my team.
For example, our real estate expansion would not
have been possible without a strong foundation of trust and transparency. From recruiting skilled professionals to establishing partnerships with clients and stakeholders, every aspect of the business is guided by principles of integrity and collaboration.
THE ROLE OF TECHNOLOGY
In today’s fast-paced world, technology plays a critical role in wealth management and business expansion. Automated tools for financial tracking, data analysis, and customer relationship management have allowed us to scale operations efficiently. Whether it’s managing cash flows, monitoring market trends, or enhancing customer engagement, technology has been an invaluable ally.
LESSONS LEARNED
Looking back, the journey has been full of lessons. One of the most important is the value of resilience. The road to success is rarely linear, and challenges are inevitable. What matters is the ability to adapt, innovate, and stay focused on the bigger picture.
Another key lesson is the importance of team

building. No business can thrive without a strong, motivated team. Investing in people—through training, mentorship, and support—has paid dividends not just in business performance but also in creating a positive, thriving work culture.
A VISION FOR THE FUTURE
As I continue to expand my ventures, the vision remains clear: to create value, inspire innovation, and lead with purpose. Managing wealth effectively is not just about accumulating assets; it’s about creating opportunities for growth and giving back to the community.
The year 2025 promises to be one of growth, resilience, and achievement. For those looking to start the year on the right foot, I encourage you to embrace the principles of wealth management. Set clear goals, make informed decisions, and never stop learning. With the right strategies in place, success is not just a possibility—it’s an inevitability. Investing in Gold is Bonkers, Isn’t It?
WHEN I was at university (which was a very long time ago), we were taught about the gold standard.
That was a time when gold was considered a serious investment.
Since then, gold as an investment has never been taken seriously. But those in the know keep an eye on it, and there are some who think it is the be-all and endall.
In my book The Passport to Wealth and Real Financial Freedom for Business Owners, I only mentioned a few paragraphs about it, and now I think maybe I should have had more to say. But what I said then is still valid today.
During times of financial uncertainty, investors tend to flock to gold. But since the global financial crisis, the price of gold has gone berserk from about $1,300 an oz to about $2,600 an oz. That is rise of 100% over 16 years!
So why is no one talking about it like they discuss Crypto?
I guess this is because gold is a bit of a mixed bag. Some people see it as an investment. Others see it as a safe haven. Some think it is bonkers to invest in it, and others buy it for vanity. Just like Crypto then.
For those that just look at the increase in prices, they
do not really care. They think the investment is good.
I have a lot of medical professional clients. Those who come from the subcontinent, such as India, are obsessed with gold. That, I think, is because of culture. Gold has been seen as an investment in the subcontinent for generations. This was because family wealth was determined not by a bank account (most at the time did not even have bank accounts) but by the amount of gold they had stashed away under the mattress.
Many also think that gold is tax-free – it isn’t –see below. Serious investors looking for growth tend to stay away, too.
So, what is the true story? Is it bonkers to invest in gold, or are you missing a tremendous opportunity?
Well, let’s look at history. In 1900, gold was worth about $19 an oz. Which meant if you invested $1 in 1900, you got about 0.05 oz of gold. If you sold that gold in 2024, you would get back
…… drum roll, please ……… about $130. Yeah, it’s not going to buy you a helicopter. Maybe a toy one, but not a real one.
Compare this to the stock market – well, an investment of $1 in the Australian stock market in 1900 would be would be worth …… drum roll, please ….. about $500,000. Again, you might not get a real helicopter, but any toy you get for $500,000 is going to be a lot more fun.
That is disastrous news if you happen to be a gold investor. Now, that is about to get worse because if, in 1900, you invested $1 and then reinvested all the dividends back into the stock market, it would be worth a whopping $1.974 million! Now that is helicopter money.
This can be explained because stocks and shares compound, i.e., the growth in shares and the real dividends also grow in future years. Because that growth is real, when you sell, the compounding is real.
There’s more grim news (as if it was not bad enough).
That is because many serious investors don’t think of gold as an investment. A pure definition of an investment is something that brings money to you and does not cost you money.
By that definition, gold brings no money in, but the chances are if you have a significant amount of it, you probably need to pay money for its security. But then again, this is the same for your house. You will tell me a home generates no money but costs money to keep, so it is not an asset. And that is where I will agree with you. It isn’t an asset.
So, by this definition, the stock market wins by a massive margin.
But that is not the whole story.
This is because the history of gold is divided into two parts. What has happened for a century, and then what has happened in the last 20 years. In 100 years, it hardly moved. In the last 20 years, it has gone bonkers. From about $300 an oz to about $2,600 now. And in 2024 alone, it has gone up 26%.
And that then makes it something to consider.
But also consider this: If you invested $300 in the Australian stock market in 2014, those shares would, on average, be worth just shy of $2,000. By this calculation, gold is better.
Or is it? Because the one thing you get with shares that gold does not give is dividends. On average, those $300 shares would have generated $900 in dividends, giving total growth of $2,600 (if you ignore the initial $300 investment) which is about the same. But also remember you must store gold, or it can get stolen. Chances are, if you put them in a bank or a safe deposit box, you will have to pay for storage.
Then, there is the belief that gold is tax-free. It is only tax free if it is used and consumed personally. What does that mean?
In a nutshell, if it is jewellery and you adorn it on yourself. If you have brought gold biscuits, bars or bullion, then they are investments subject to capital gains tax per the ATO. I know what you are thinking. How will they know? Well, considering bullion is tracked and knowing the ATO with their tentacles, they can probably find out, so make sure you follow the rules.
But you need to remember that the price of gold is dependent upon global events. At times of uncertainty, the price of gold rises. And the last 20 years have been volatile. But when the world is stable, it falls. It is, in many ways, the opposite of stocks, and that may be a good or bad thing.
In 2013, gold prices fell 30pc, which also happened to be the same amount that US equities made investors that year.
With the share market, it falls and rises all the time, but history has shown us that it always moves upwards over the long term.
Financial advisors always say a well-diversified portfolio of investments is what you want. That means if you want to invest in gold, it should be part of a larger portfolio of investments.
The benefit of gold is that when the stock market is crashing, gold is likely to go up, so it can be a good hedging asset to hold. It can also be useful during periods of high inflation, which is why gold is popular during periods of high inflation such as now.
The downside? When the world looks rosy and stocks are high, gold tends to stay steady or even fall and so it is volatile.

Finding Purpose: A Journey to Personal Growth and Fulfillment
By Pushpa Vaghela CEO of The Women’s Mentoring Foundation (WMF), Managing Director AMS Synergy Group Real Estate & Co-Founder IndiaBiz Pioneers.
LIFE is filled with questions about meaning and direction. Many of us ponder how to align our actions with a sense of purpose, striving to grow as individuals and contribute positively to the world. Discovering and embracing your purpose isn’t about perfection or having all the answers but about understanding yourself, building connections, and taking intentional steps toward a fulfilling life. Here are some ideas to guide you on your journey to finding purpose and achieving personal growth.
1. REFLECT ON YOUR PASSIONS AND STRENGTHS
The things that excite and energise you often hold clues to your purpose. Think about the
Pastor Suresh Dass Joseph josephdass@optusnet.com.au
DEAR READER, it is our joy to bring you the word of God. When we give something away or when someone takes what belongs to you, then it is possible to fall into a trap that you will be in lack. But in the book of proverbs, it says, "It is possible to give away and have more." And if someone does not return what is yours, then instead of living frustrated, hurt, and angry, turn your thoughts around and say, "They did not take it from me, but I gave it away."
This shows your trust is not in people who have
activities or topics that light you up, as well as the skills you naturally excel in. These are not just hobbies or talents; they are pieces of the puzzle that reveal what drives you. For instance, if you love problem-solving and working with people, you might find purpose in roles where you can lead, mentor, or support others. Reflecting on your strengths and passions helps you recognise the unique contributions you can make.
2. SET PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GOALS
Purpose often becomes clearer when you create meaningful goals for yourself. Setting achievable targets, whether they’re related to career development, relationships, or personal achievements gives you a sense of direction.
START BY ASKING YOURSELF:
What do I want to accomplish in the next year?
What legacy do I want to leave behind?
How can my daily actions align with my long-term vision?
Breaking larger aspirations into smaller, manageable steps helps you stay focused and
motivated.
3. SEEK OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW
Growth often happens when you step out of your comfort zone. Challenge yourself to try new things, learn new skills, or engage in activities that push your boundaries. Whether it’s enrolling in a course, traveling to a new place, or joining a group with shared interests, exposing yourself to diverse experiences broadens your perspective and can uncover new dimensions of your purpose. Growth is not just
about professional achievements; it’s also about becoming more empathetic, resilient, and self-aware.
4. BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS
Human connection is a vital part of finding purpose. Surrounding yourself with supportive and inspiring people fosters a sense of belonging and helps you grow emotionally and socially.
Engage in meaningful conversations, listen actively, and build relationships based on mutual respect and trust. Sharing your

This is the year when God will restore what has been taken from you. On your part, you must come to a place of peace with yourself. That means if something rightly belongs to you and is in the possession of someone else, and you know that it is not coming back to you, then release it, let it go, and say to yourself, "They didn't take from me; I gave it away." This will free you from any unnecessary frustration, worry, and pain.
In the Bible (Genesis 12 &13), God told Abraham to leave his country so He could give him a new nation and make him great, and all the families on earth would be blessed through him. Abraham obeyed God and left with Sarai, his wife, and his nephew Lot. Both Abraham and Lot had flocks, herds, and

Abraham felt upset with his nephew Lot's choice. I can imagine Abraham saying to Lot, "You did not take the best part from me, but on the contrary, I gave it to you."
HERE ARE 3 THINGS WE CAN LEARN FROM ABRAHAM AND LOT.
1. God's blessing on your life cannot be reduced by what someone has taken from you. After Lot left, God appeared to Abraham again, saying, "Lift your eyes and look east, west, north, and south. I give you and your descendants forever for all the land
you see." Like Abraham, life is full of unexpected events. Your journey to your destination is not always smooth sailing. Sometimes, you will have to give something away to keep the peace. But my encouragement to you is to keep on trusting God. He keeps the records, and His blessing over your life will come to you.
2. People may take it from your hand. But what belongs to you cannot be taken from the hand of God. Abraham remained blessed when Lot walked away with what looked like the best part of the deal. It was not from what was taken from Abraham but from what God had in store for him. Philippians 4v19 says, "My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Notice it doesn't say according to the riches from people, but from God.
3. People do not hold your future; God does. Some people will only leave you if they can take
Set aside time regularly to evaluate your progress, reassess your priorities, and acknowledge your achievements. This practice fosters clarity and keeps you aligned with your sense of purpose.
7. BE OPEN TO CHANGE
Purpose is not static. As you grow and encounter new experiences, your understanding of what fulfills you may evolve. Embrace change as an opportunity for discovery rather than a disruption. Flexibility and adaptability allow you to navigate life’s uncertainties while staying true to your core values. Accepting that your journey will have twists and turns helps you maintain a positive and growth-oriented mindset.
something that belongs to you. God did not tell Abraham to take his nephew when he left his country. Along the way, there was strife between the herdsmen of Abraham and Lot. But when Lot left, after taking what seemed the best, God said to Abraham, "I give all these to you and your descendants." It seemed like a tough time for Abraham. It didn't seem fair, but it was the best way for Lot to move away from Abraham. By letting Lot have the best, Abraham received God's best! And all this is possible through a relationship with God through His Son Jesus. When you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and your Saviour, you receive God's best for your life. My encouragement to you today is that if someone has what belongs to you and you know it is not coming back to you, you can move on from that place of pain by declaring, "They did not take it from me, but I gave it away!" God bless you
QUESTIONER:
Needs and Desires- Sadhguru
Sadhguru, I am on spiritual path, Shouldn’t I still fulfill my needs and desires like food, sex, sleep?
SADHGURU: You are confusing basic requirements with dispensable desire. Food and sleep are basic requirements. You don’t desire them. When you are tired you sleep, when you are hungry you eat. These are required for your survival.
Discounting those two, let’s address the other desire that you mentioned: sexuality. Let’s look at it truthfully. Your desire is not for sex. One part of the fact is that your hormones have hijacked your intelligence. Another part is there is a lot of pleasure attached to sex. Yet another part is you are desperately trying to become one with somebody. But no matter how hard you try, sex does not work this way. You never become one with somebody by fusing your bodies. You will either realize this on your death bed, or you can realize it now and
look for other ways that work.
Now, you may ask, “Oh, should I give this up?” There is no need to give up anything. As I said earlier, when you were a child, did you have some kind of a doll of your own?
Let us say you had a teddy bear or a Barbie doll, or whatever, something that went all over the world with you. Now you had this teddy bear with you.
At one point in your life this teddy bear was more important than your mother, your father, God, or all of them put together, yes?
At a certain point in your life, at that time, suppose I had told you, “See, this teddy bear is just a bundle of cotton. What is the big deal? Let us throw this nonsense away.” Would you have listened? No way. But as you grew up and gathered more exposure into the ways of the world other things interested you more than your childhood doll, so much so that you probably don’t even know where it is lying now! So something which was at one stage the most important
possession in your life today stands disposed or missing and you don’t even care. Its absence means nothing to you. This is the fate of desires. You hang on to certain teddy bears today because you don’t know anything better. If you taste something of a bigger
dimension than you know right now, these insignificant dolls you have as desires will naturally fall off. And the best part is you don’t have to give them up, they naturally fall off. On the spiritual path, just sitting and breathing is by itself, a million times more amazing
and captivating than anything else that you have known. Imagine just sitting here and breathing! Once you have known the pleasure of something higher will you settle for crumbles?

February and the Love Health team at ECCQ
February sees us not only acknowledging International World Cancer Day but also celebrating Valentine’s Day. World Cancer Day is on the 4th February every year and the theme for this year is ‘United by Unique’, as everyone’s story related to their cancer diagnosis is different. Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally, accounting for an estimated 9.6 million deaths, or 1 in 6 deaths. In 2018; lung, prostate, colorectal, stomach and liver cancer were the most common types of cancer in men WHO). The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) identifies cancer as everybody’s business, including individuals, families, community and government. Cancer is more than a disease. In Australia the rates of Liver Cancer are increasing with Chronic Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C as leading causes. In 2022, over 400 deaths were related to Chronic hepatitis B. Risks of developing untreatable liver cancer can be reduced with
early diagnosis and correct management and treatment if a person has been diagnosed with hepatitis B or hepatitis C. February 14th is Valentines Day –traditionally a day where people express their love and affection for their
partners. People living with chronic hepatitis B or C or HIV can have meaningful and loving relationships, have children and live long and productive lives. People living with hepatitis or HIV should not be subject to stigma
and discrimination as these conditions can be easily managed with appropriate care available here in Australia. Living with hepatitis B or HIV will not affect a person’s ability to study, train or work in most fields.
Whilst the number of people becoming infected with hepatitis or HIV in Australia is reducing, the news is different in other parts of the world, therefore it is important to ensure a person takes appropriate precautions to reduce the risks of being infected including vaccination for hepatitis
B, using a condom for all sexual activities, be aware of blood to blood contacts, or taking PrEP to reduce the risk of contracting HIV. For more information about chronic hepatitis or HIV please see our website at www.eccq.com. au. Contact us:3844 9166 or email health@eccq. com.au.

GenTalk with AbsoluteDNA: Unlocking the Future of Proactive Health
IN today’s fast-paced world, taking control of your health has never been more important. Thanks to advancements in genetic testing, we now have a powerful tool to help us make informed decisions about our wellbeing. AbsoluteDNA, a leader in personalized health solutions, is at the forefront of this revolution, empowering individuals to understand their genetic blueprint and take charge of their future.
Genetic testing, once confined to research labs, is now widely accessible and transforming how we approach healthcare. But what exactly does it involve? Genetic testing analyses your DNA to identify variations that may influence your health, predisposition to certain conditions, or even how you respond to medications. This information opens a window into your unique biology, allowing for a truly personalized approach to prevention and care.
Today’s cutting-edge tests go beyond just uncovering inherited risks. They provide actionable insights into areas like nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle, tailored specifically to your genetic profile. For instance, some individuals may discover they’re predisposed to Vitamin D deficiency, while others might learn about their risk for heart disease or diabetes. With
this knowledge, you can make adjustments to your diet, exercise, or medical care to reduce risks and improve longterm outcomes.
“Proactive health is the cornerstone of a better future,” is what I strongly believe in and advocate , I am Dr Sonia Singh. A geneticist, founder and director of AbsoluteDNA. “By understanding our genetics, we can move away from reactive healthcare and focus on prevention. Instead of waiting for a condition to develop, we’re giving people the tools to stay ahead of potential health issues.”
One key area where genetic testing has made significant strides is hereditary diseases. For families with a history of conditions like breast cancer, Alzheimer’s, or cardiovascular disease, genetic insights provide a roadmap for early interventions. There are comprehensive tests that identifies genetic markers linked to these conditions, empowering individuals and healthcare providers to craft personalized prevention plans.
But genetic testing isn’t just about disease prevention. It’s also a game-changer for fitness and wellness enthusiasts. Have you ever wondered why some people respond better to high-intensity workouts while others thrive on endurance training? The answer may lie in your DNA. AbsoluteDNA’s reports
shed light on your body’s unique capabilities, helping you design a fitness regimen that works best for you.
Critically, genetic testing also highlights the importance of family planning. We also offer carrier screening to identify genetic conditions that could be passed on to children, allowing prospective parents to make informed decisions.
While the potential of genetic testing is immense, I would like to emphasize that it’s not about predicting the future with 100% certainty. Instead, it’s about empowering individuals with knowledge that enables healthier choices. Importantly, privacy and confidentiality are our top priorities, ensuring that your genetic data is secure and handled responsibly.
As we embrace the era of precision health, genetic testing serves as a reminder that proactive healthcare is not just a luxury— it’s a necessity. By understanding our DNA, we’re not just reacting to illness; we’re building a foundation for lifelong wellness.
To learn more about and how genetic testing can transform your health, you can contact me directly. Looking forward to bringing insights with help of JD media group to all the readers on a regular basis.

Who to Worship? Worship Only the Absolute ARYA SAMAJ QUEENSLAND INC
because of his kindness he has given thousands of things for our use. We too ought to be just, righteous, knowledgeable, holy and kind, etc. to uplift our soul. This is the true meaning of God’s Worship. Praise, Pray and Meditate God is worshiped in three ways:
help themselves.” Prayers should be for the virtue, never to destroy personal enemies. God is the ultimate judge and His justice will eventually prevail.
PRAYER FOR ENLIGHTENMENT
Meaning: To the One Supreme Absolute Brahma who ordains, rules and presides over all that is, has been, and all that shall be, whose nature and being is pure light and absolute joy, homage of worship and surrender. Worshipper of Forms Fall in Deep Darkness.
Meaning: Down into the darkest dark do they fall who worship only the primordial prakriti (nature). Still deeper and darker do they fall who worship only the existential forms and are lost therein. The Worshipping we do is not for God. It does not affect God in any way. Worshipping God means thinking of His qualities and making those qualities part of your own life. For example — He always does justice without any prejudice: He always does the right thing, never does anything wrong; God knows everything; God is holy and does not have any flaws; God is kind —
1. Glorification or praise – Devotion and praise of God creates love for Him. Emulating His qualities of Justice, Kindness, Caring and Nurturing, etc. is the purpose of God’s praise.
Meaning: The face of truth is covered by a golden veil. The veil is removed by the Lord of golden glory. (Material attractions does not let one know the truth, only by Gods will one knows the truth). The life and light that shines in the sun is that Supreme Purusha (God). That is there, and that is here in me. Om is the Savior. Om is Brahma, Brahma is infinite, sublime. 2. Prayers bring humility and courage. Prayers followed with sincere efforts bring results. For example, if one is praying for wisdom and guidance, he/she ought to make all the efforts to get it by reading, listening, thinking and analysing what was heard or read, then examining for facts. When one is in a situation and not been able to decide or know the right path, meditation also helps. A well-known quote is “God helps those who

PRAYER FOR HONESTY AND SIMPLICITY
Meaning: Agni, brilliant lord omniscient of all the laws and ways of existence, lead us to the wealth of life by the right path of honesty and simplicity. Remove from us all sin and crookedness. We sing the most joyous songs of celebration in praise of you. Homage to you again and again.
PRAYER FOR PEACE
Meaning: May Mitra bless us with peace. May Varuna brings us peace. MayAryama lead us to peace. May Indra and Brhaspati shower us with peace. May Vishnu, lord of mighty action, bless us with peace and action. PRAYER FOR PURITY OF MIND
Meaning: Go off, evil of the mind, why do you present things undesirable? Keep off. I do not want you. Go about woods and trees. My mind is in and with the home and homely thoughts and perceptions.
DO NOT LET ME SIN
Meaning: Whatever the sin or evil I have committed or I have wished to commit, whether when awake or asleep, then, the sinner as I am, may all people now present and all those people that will be present in future rescue and redeem me from that sin like one tied to the stake.

The God of All Comfort: Finding Strength in Him
LIFE often brings moments of exhaustion—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. We face seasons where the weight of trials, uncertainties, and disappointments drains our strength, leaving us weary and discouraged. Yet, in these very moments, God speaks a word of comfort to His people, a promise that is timeless and unwavering.
In Isaiah 40, God declares, “Comfort, comfort My people,” says your God (Isaiah 40:1). The word comfort here is not merely about soothing or relief; it is a divine assurance that God Himself comes alongside us in our struggles. It is a deep, abiding presence of God, strengthening, renewing,
and lifting us when we feel unable to go on.
Waiting on the Lord: A Deeper Perspective
Isaiah 40:31 gives us an extraordinary promise: "But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint."
The word "wait" in this verse is translated from the Hebrew word "Qavah," which means to bind together, as in twisting two cords of rope into one. This is not a passive waiting but an active intertwining of our lives with
God—trusting Him, leaning into His presence, and drawing strength from His power.
Just as a rope becomes stronger when its strands are woven together, so too do we gain supernatural strength when we are bound tightly to the Lord. When we Qavah—binding ourselves to Him in faith, worship, and surrender—we receive a strength beyond our own, a renewal that lifts us above the storms of life like an eagle soaring effortlessly on the wind.
The God Who Comforts in Every Generation In Isaiah 50, we see another aspect of God’s comfort: His servant-hearted love and unwavering faithfulness. The prophecy speaks of the coming Messiah, Jesus Christ, who endured suffering yet remained obedient, never turning away from God’s mission.
"The Lord God has given
Me the tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary." (Isaiah 50:4)
Jesus is the ultimate fulfilment of God’s comfort. Throughout His earthly ministry, He healed the sick, restored the broken, and lifted the weary. He comforted the rejected, strengthened the weak, and gave hope to the lost. He did not simply offer words of comfort—He was, and is, Comfort itself.
Even today, Jesus walks with us in our trials. He is the One who binds up the brokenhearted (Isaiah 61:1), the Prince of Peace who gives rest to the weary (Matthew 11:28), and the faithful Shepherd who leads us through every valley (Psalm 23:4).
How Do We Seek Strength from the Lord?
1. Bind Yourself to Him (Qavah) – Actively
intertwine your life with God through prayer, worship, and trust. Don’t just wait for strength—draw near to Him and let Him renew you.
2. Rest in His Comfort – Jesus is the source of perfect comfort. Meditate on His promises, surrender your burdens to Him, and allow His peace to guard your heart.
3. Move Forward in Faith – Those who wait on the Lord will not just survive but soar. Walk in obedience, knowing that God’s grace is sufficient for every step you take.
Conclusion: The Everlasting Comforter Jesus Christ is the God of all comfort (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). In every generation, through every trial, He remains our unfailing source of strength. No matter how weary you feel, remember this: when you are bound together with Him, you will never be broken, never
be defeated, and never be abandoned. He renews, He restores, and He strengthens all who wait upon Him. "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." — Isaiah 41:10
Let your heart be bound to Him, and you will rise again, stronger than ever.
A prayer for God’s perfect peace: Father God, I come to you today in Jesus' name. I am tired and weary of trying to find unwavering hope. As I read your word, give me faith to trust in you. Forgive my sins. Remove the barriers that have separated me from a living and loving God. Help me walk in your way and grow stronger to face every challenge in my life. I pray this in Jesus’ unfailing name. Amen.

MY wife and I travelled to Bharat on pilgrimage to the sacred sites of Ayodhya, Varanasi and Gaya. These places have special significance in Hinduism due to their religious, cultural and historical importance. Orthodox Hindus believe these places are capable of bestowing emancipation to humans who visit and perform specific rituals there. These cities have ancient and fabulous origin, and have grown, declined and regenerated many times over centuries. Their names arouse a sense of respect and reverence in the minds of devout Hindus.
AYODHYA – The city of Ayodhya is located in the state of Uttar Pradesh. It has become well known worldwide in recent times due to the restoration of the Ram Janmabhumi Temple at its original place. It has a long history, which began in the prehistoric period. According to ancient Indian texts Vaivaswat Manu, the first enlightened human on the earth established a settlement on the banks of River Sarayu and named it Ayodhya, the unconquerable. Vaivaswat had a son named Ikshvaku, who became the progenitor of the solar dynasty. Ayodhya became the capital of solar dynasty kings. Many celebrated kings were born in this dynasty. The most notable was Ram who is renowned as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He was born during the Tretayug, the second epoch of the Hindu almanac. He was the eldest son of King Dasarath and a contemporary of Valmiki, the author of the original Ramayan in Sanskrit.
Valmiki has vividly described Ayodhya in the Ramayan. During his time, it was a sprawling city twelve yojans long and three yojans wide. A yojan was a unit of distance, which varied over the ages from 4.5 to 10 miles. The city had well laid out streets and broad tree lined avenues. There were rows of houses and multi-level buildings of varied designs studded with precious gems. The city was kept sanitary by an underground system. Artisans were of the highest skills. The city was well secured by high walls, encircled by an impregnable moat and protected from danger by a formidable army. The people were content, conscientious and practised righteous conducts. Women walked freely during the day and night. Many other desirable characteristics of a city were present in Ayodhya during that period.
Ayodhya, being associated with Lord Ram, eventually became a sacred site. Rajas and Maharajas from different regions of India built temples there. Many temples dedicated to specific aspects of Ram’s life and other associated characters were built. These attracted pilgrims from all over India. Tales and ballads were composed and spread throughout the country and abroad. The Ram Janmabhumi Mandir was one of them. It is believed that Ram’s son Kush originally commissioned the Ram Janmabhumi temple. After a long time, Ayodhya city was destroyed during the Mahabharat war in the Dwaparyug, the third epoch.
In the Kaliyug, King
Pilgrimage to Bharat
Vikramaditya rebuilt the Ram Janmabhumi temple around first century BC at the location of the previous temple. In the fourth century AD, King Samudragupta renovated it. Its splendors are mentioned in Purans and other ancient literature. It remained a popular object of pilgrimage throughout its existence. The Mughal invader Babur destroyed the Ram Janmabhumi temple in 1528 AD and constructed on its place a mosque known as Babri masjid, in an arrogant display of his dominance over the Indian population. Hindus continued a campaign to recover the temple site from invaders but had limited success during the Mughal dominance in the country.
The movement to build a Ram Janmabhumi Mandir at its original place remained active during the British rule. After independence, new legal disputes were lodged in the court. Noticeable progress was achieved after demolition of the mosque in 1992. The Indian Supreme Court’s decision came in November 2019 awarding the entire disputed property to the Hindu parties, paving the way for construction of the Ram Mandir.
The Indian Prime Minster Narendra Modi laid the foundation stones of the new Ram Janmabhumi temple on 5th August 2020 and completed the Pran Patishtha, sanctification ceremony on Kurma Dwadashi, Shukla Paksh in the month of Paush that is 22 January 2024 with Vedic rituals.
The temple receives visitors from all over India and overseas. Before entering the temple complex, one has to pass through security checks. After entering the temple area, there are booths for keeping footwear. Next the visitor deposits their personal items such as bag, phones at a cloakroom, as these items are not allowed inside the temple, and then proceed for Darshan of the deity Ram Lalla, the idol of child Ram.
The visitors then pass through another security check before entering the main temple and sanctum sanctorum. Normally, a large number of people visit the site and in order to regulate the crowd, they are required to proceed in barricaded lines. One is allowed to have a Darshan of the deity while moving on in the queue. It was enchanting to witness the deity as well observe the temple
the mosque. The Maratha ruler Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore built the current temple in 1780 on an adjacent plot. In 1835, Maharaja Ranjit Singh donated one tonne of gold to plate the dome of the Vishvanath temple.
Over time, the area had become congested and access to the temple had become difficult due to narrow lanes and crowds. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a major redevelopment project was completed in 2021. The renovated temple can be accessed from four directions. It allows direct access from the River Ganga to the temple through a dedicated Corridor.
in person, which has been restored after five centuries of struggle.
In addition to the Ram Janmabhumi temple, there are many other tourist attractions in Ayodhya city as well as in the surrounding regions. The Hanuman Garhi temple dedicated to Hanuman is in the proximity of the Ram Janmabhumi temple. Kanak Bhavan, Dasarath Bhavan, Sita Rasoi are located in the city. Other sites of interest related to the events of the Ramayan, such as Bharat Kund, Surya Kund, Makhbhumi and Guptarghat are located outside the city. In a day one can gain an appreciation of the outstation sites by visiting in a motor vehicle with a guide who can relates them with the ancient events.
VARANASI - From Ayodhya, we travelled to Varanasi, the religious capital of India and the city of Lord Shiv, also in Uttar Pradesh. It is about a five-hour trip by train from Ayodhya. Varanasi also known as Kashi or Banaras is situated on the western banks of the River Ganga. It is one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world. It is renowned for being a centre of Sanskrit learning. Numerous temples, educational and cultural institutions, silk saris and other industries are located here. The renovation of Kashi Vishvanath Mandir in the city has further enhanced the importance of the city to pilgrims and tourists alike.
The Kashi Vishvanath temple houses one of the Jyotirlings, the radiant symbol of Lord Shiv. According to the Shiv Puran, Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu had an argument about who was the most potent god. To settle the issue, Shiv appeared as a huge pillar of light and asked them to find the end of it. Neither could do his bidding and both declared Shiv to be the greatest.
The Vishvanath temple has an illustrious history and has been destroyed and reconstructed many times. It is believed that the original temple was built by Vikramaditya and was known as Adi Vishveshwar Temple. It was demolished by Muslim rulers and rebuilt by patrons of Hinduism when situations permitted. In 1669, Aurangzeb destroyed the temple and built the Gyanvapi mosque in its place. The remains of the erstwhile temple can be seen in the foundation, the columns, and the rear parts of
first sermon after attaining enlightenment is about 10 kilometers away from Varanasi. Varanasi is famed for silk saris, which are highly sought after throughout India and abroad. Craftsmen produce artefacts, which have high commercial values.
After the redevelopment, visitor numbers have significantly increased. We also performed a Darshan of the Jyotirling. A local guide was helpful and so was a police officer near the deity, who allowed us to observe the deity for slightly longer than the normal viewing time. One can visit the Annapurna temple along the lane to the Vishvanath temple and view a small temple in the mosque complex from the temple exit pathway.
In addition, there are many other prominent temples such as the Vishvanath temple in Banaras Hindu University campus, Tulasi Manas Mandir and Sankat Mochan Mandir close to the BHU. The Vishvanath temple in BHU is approximately 77 meters high and is made of marble. The entire text of the Bhagavad Gita and passages from sacred Hindu scriptures are inscribed with illustration on the inner walls of the temple. The temple is primarily dedicated to Lord Shiv but also contains shrines of other deities. The area surrounding the temple is well maintained and spacious, suitable for rest and relaxation, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Tulasi Manas Mandir is constructed in white marble. Verses and scenes from Ramcharit Manas are engraved on the internal marble walls all over the temple. It is believed that Tulasidas resided at this site while composing the Ramcharit Manas. A welllandscaped ground around the temple is normally full of greenery and flowers.
Sankat Mochan Mandir is dedicated to Hanuman. It is said that Tulasidas used to visit this temple during his stay at Manas Mandir site. It attracts a sizeable crowd of Hanuman devotees, including a large number of students from the BHU.
Among educational institution, Banaras Hindu University is a well known collegiate, central and Research University. Madan Mohan Malaviya established this university in 1916 with the support of numerous patrons including the maharaja of Darbhanga and the maharaja of Kashi. It is one of the largest residential universities in Asia. In addition, large education institutions such as Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth, Sampoornand Sanskrit University and Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies are located in Varanasi. Sarnath, where Buddha delivered his
GAYA - After Varanasi, we visited Gaya, another holy site located in Bihar on the banks of river Phalgu. It is a pilgrimage centre for Hindus, Buddhists and Jains. The main Hindu shrine is the Vishnupad temple, which contains the imprint of Vishnu’s foot. The maharani of Indore Ahilyabai Holkar had built the current temple in 1787. Numerous other temples are located in the city and on Ramshila, Pretshila and Gayashira hills.
According to an ancient tale, Gaya is named after Gayasur, a demon who lived there during the Tretayug. After performing severe penance his body became so pious that whoever touched his body immediately attained salvation. Deities prayed to Lord Vishnu to stop this practice to avoid crowding in the upper region. Vishnu appeared before Gayasur, blessed him and placed his foot on him. The body of Gayasur transformed into a series of rocky hills on contact with the foot.
The Garud Puran highly praises the performance of shraddh at Gaya during the pitri-paksh, the dark fortnight in the Vikram Samvat month of Ashwin (September-October). During the pitri-paksh hundreds of thousand Hindus from all over the world visit Gaya and perform the shraddh. The pind-dan and tarpan are main rituals at Gaya and hence the shraddh performed there is also called pind-dan. When both parents have passed away, then performing shraddh at Gaya during the pitri-paksh is considered to be a duty of their progeny.
Generally, the process of shraddh is supposed to be held at numerous locations in Gaya over a period of a fortnight. However, it has been simplified and can be completed in a single day. The one-day shraddh is performed at three locations that include the banks of the Phalgu River, in the courtyard of Vishnupad temple and near the Akshayvat tree. The performer offers pinds and tarpans to deceased parents and other ancestors, and to the presiding deities Phalgu River, Vishnupad temple and Akshayvat.
Bodhgaya, where Buddha attained enlightenment under a Peepal tree is about fifteen kilometres away from Gaya. The Barabar Hill Caves, the oldest surviving rock-cut caves in India, is around twentyfour kilometres away from Gaya. They were built during the Maurya period and some have inscriptions of Ashok’s edicts. The followers of Ajivika sect commonly resided in those caves. Other historical places that can be visited from Gaya are ruins of the ancient Nalanda University, Rajgir the old capital of Magadh and Pawapuri where Jain Tirthankar Mahavir drew his last breath.

THE SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE OF MAHA SHIVRATRI
SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE
Every year, people celebrate the festival of Mahashivratri in remembrance of God Shiva. On this day, devotees visit Shiva temples to offer leaves of bel upon the Shivalinga, observe a fast, keep awake all night, and remember God Shiva. However, the celebration of festivals is ritualistic these days. The significance of this festival has faded away. But what does it signify?
‘Maha’ means “great,” ‘Shiva’ translates to "benefactor," and ‘Ratri’ means “night.” The incorporeal God Shiva manifests in our universe during a period of extreme darkness. The term "Ratri’ in this context does not refer to the darkness that happens after sunset; instead, it represents the deep ignorance of the true knowledge of the self and of the supreme soul. Darkness also represents extreme unrighteousness and sorrow in the world. So Mahashivratri is celebrated in remembrance of the divine act of God
Shiva, who ends all the unrighteousness, irreligiousness, and sorrow in the world and brings peace, happiness, and harmony to the whole world.
WHAT IS THE REASON BEHIND 'RATRI'?
In the Iron Age (Kali Yuga), human souls become impure under the influence of five vices, which are lust, anger, greed, ego, and attachment. Therefore, we celebrate the "birth night" of God Shiva rather than a "birthday" as others do. When the true religion of purity and peace and the spiritual self-identity is forgotten, he comes to restore humanity in its highest stage, which is the original religion of deities referred to as "Devi-devta Dharma." God has to come to uplift us and reestablish the Satya Dharma, the real religion of peace, purity, universal love, and brotherhood. He arrives to elevate all of humanity and thereby liberate us from sorrow. This is mentioned in Shrimat Bhagavad Gita
in this sloka: Yada Yada hi Dharmasya...
, Chapter 4, Verse 7) which says: "Whenever the original religion of the soul is forgotten and defeated, I incarnate in the world to re-establish dharma, the golden age (heaven), to uplift the goodness and annihilate the evil." "I come in every Kalpa (cycle)..."
FASTING (UPVAAS) ON SHIVARATRI
The Sanskrit word "upavaas" means "to stay close." On that day we stay away from vices (lust) and fast/have pure food. This discipline connects our mind with God Shiva, allowing us to remain in his presence. We stay awake the whole night in memory of the Supreme Father, the Supreme Soul, and Shiva.
SHIV LINGA
The 'Shivling' represents the light form of the God Shiva. God Shiv is a subtle point of divine conscious light; this is commonly
represented by an ovalshaped stone and is the object of worship. Siva also worshipped as jyotirlinga, which indicates God shiva is in the form of Divine light. " Satyam Shivam Sundaram” is a term that is frequently used to refer to him, as he is the truth, the benefactor, and the most beautiful one.
THE DIVINE TASK OF GOD SHIVA
He is most renowned as "World Benefactor Shiva (Vishwa Kalyankari)." With this name, we can understand that the incorporeal God Shiva must separate from his creation (not omnipresent), and he brings benefit to his whole creation. To do the job of Benefactor, he would have come down from the highest Abode, also known as Paramdham or the Soul World. That’s why it says,"Uncha tera naam, uncha tera dham, uncha tera kaam," which means that. "Your name is high, your home is high, and your deeds are high." When the everlasting star of divine Light and
Spiritual Might descends to Earth, He awakes humanity to come into true realisation of self and God. He reestablishes divinity in the world and creates a golden era. In this Kaliyuk, we are so used to interacting with each other with body consciousness— that is, viewing physical characters and costumes—that we rarely make an effort to reflect on our eternal self or discover our inner beauty. Just as Shiva is known as the embodiment of Truth and Benefactor, human souls too have similar celestial attributes. However, people have either forgotten or polluted these divine virtues. In old scriptures it says, "God created humans in His own image," which holds truth; we also have the same qualities as God; therefore, as humans, we have to look into the depths of ourselves and realise our divine nature. As soon as we understand, recognise, and begin to live as enlightened beings, we respect the goodness in
others and bring benefit to all of humanity. By awakening ourselves and reconnecting our consciousness with the Supreme Being, we become elevated persons who are always calm, loving, joyous, and pure. This will bring peace and happiness to the planet. This is how God Shiva restores the peace and happiness that have been lost in the world.
Let us celebrate Maha Shivratri by regenerating our inner virtue and sharing His divine message of true self and true introduction and task of God Shiva.

The Intuitional Science of the Vedas – 3
The great sage Aungirá said, –Sa vedaetatparamaḿ Brahmadháma
The one who has known the Supreme Brahma has really known Him as the refuge of this universe. The One Who is the ultimate refuge of each and everything, animate and inanimate, movable and immovable, from the Supreme creation… Brahma – to the lowliest blade of grass, is the supreme goal, the final beatitude. The universe has been created within Him and is indeed radiant with His radiance. That the universe is created within Him is not all that can be said. It is the transformation of His own Self. It is evolved by Him. He is the substance as well as the cause of this universe. It is the cooperative creation of the sixteenfold distortions (ten sensory and motor organs, the mind and the five Tanmátras or inferences) and the eight binding factors of Prakrti that are there as the cause and effect of His qualitative manifestations. The seeds and potentials of this universe are also inherent in them. It is for this vastness that He has been called Brahma, which means Great (Brahatvád Brahma). Then again the One who makes another great, the One with whose thought and bearing the small unit establishes itself in the vastness, is also called Brahma (Brḿhańatvád Brahma). When this world is within Him, then
He must necessarily be greater than the world. Suppose there is a box in a room; then the room must be greater than the box. That is why there is space for the box, otherwise it could not have been accommodated. That in which this universe is implanted is naturally greater than the universe. The entire universe is pivoting around its knower, its Nucleus, in a cyclic order in the vast body of Puruśa. Revolving thus in this cycle the one who progresses towards the knowing Entity by virtue of one’s spiritual force attains unity with Him, becomes one with Him. They become Brahma themselves, and that is why He has the quality of making one great.
Brahma is effulgent in white radiance. The Shruti says that Puruśa and Prakrti are indivisible and inseparable. Where Prakrti (the operative principle) is active over Puruśa, Puruśa is of white radiance. In the Gáyattri mantra the word, “Bharga”, is used in the sense of white radiance, and that is why this “Bharga” and Saguńa Brahma (The subjectivated Transcendentality) are inseparable. The inseparability of Brahma and His Radiance is fully substantiated by the real meaning and analysis of the word “Bharga”. It is trilateral, the combination of three letters, viz., “Bha”, “Ra”, “Ga”.
“Bha” – Bhásayatiimállokániti, i.e., by which the world is illuminated.
“Ra” – Raiṋjayatiimátáni, i.e., That which provides happiness for the living beings.
By Shrii Shrii Anandamurti
“Ga” – Gacchatyasmin ágacchatyasmád imáh prajáh, i.e., That in which the entire creation merges after emanation therefrom.
The Shruti says, –Bheti bhásayate lokán Reti Raiṋjayati prajáh Ga ityágacchatyajasraḿ Bharagát Bharga ucyate
Generally speaking, the word, “Bharga” is used verily in the sense of Brahmic effulgence. Now the question arises, whether Brahma and His radiance are two different entities. If we say Ráma has such and such qualities or Shyáma has such and such qualities –aren’t the individuals and their qualities two absolutely separate entities? Such distinctiveness is not applicable to limitless, integral, Brahma, who is without a second. Brahma and His radiance are not two separate entities, for He is autophanous – self-luminous. Citing the instance of Ráhu’s(1) (Dragon’s) head we have to say that He is characteristically radiant.
This creation is tripleattributional. The game of the three attributes goes on in everything and everywhere in the universe, and they have not spared the human body. The region below the navel is dominated by Tamoguńa (Static principle), the region from navel to throat, by Rajoguńa (Mutative influence) and the region from throat to Trikuti (the junction of the two eyebrows, where the seat of the mind is located,) by
Sattvaguńa (Sentient influence). Normally, a particular region in the body becomes more active in accordance with the Vrtti or epithymetic influence or the interand intra-ectoplasmic occupation of an individual. When a Sádhaka is established in his/her mental seat by virtue of his/her hearing, thinking and profound meditation, he or she being then established in Sattvaguńa (Sentient quality), realizes the Supreme Being in His Super-white glory, as is the wont of Sentient quality. When one goes beyond the mental sphere, one merges in the objectlessness of the Nirguńa Brahma in the Brahmarondhra (An aperture in the crown of the head) and thus reaches beyond the scope of colors. Bharga or white color also disappears from him. A desireless person, who worships this Supreme Puruśa absolves himself from the momenta of rebirths due to mind being objectless or desire-free. Such an individual goes beyond the cycle of ordinary birth and death. In other words, one’s mental force goes beyond the stars (’Shukrá means Venus, a planet) due to one’s being established in the Supreme Entity. Kámá yah kámayate manyamánah
take form i.e., they will gradually acquire the like Saḿskáras or reactive momenta. They first see within themselves what they aspire for and then let their minds flow towards it. Thereafter the external organs i.e., hands and feet, etc., set about achieving it. And so it is generally seen that the desires that they had been giving indulgence to throughout their lives, come hurtling over to them in a condensed form at the last hour, i.e., their mind-stuff takes the like mental form for the last time in order to shape itself into a fitting medium of the like Saḿskáras. Even during the life-time as well it is seen that the mind-stuff of a drunkard, which imbibes within it an indomitable desire or Saḿskára for wine, turns into a vantage ground for undergoing the next Saḿskáras or momenta of pleasure and pain. That is to say, such a person gets scent of the wine shop by the sheer propulsion of his acquired mental propensity, if he happens to go to a new and unfamiliar place. A man who has cultivated dog-like or swine-like desires all his life, dies with the same dog-like or swine-like frame of mind. Thereafter with the help of Prakrti’s Mutative force he acquires the form of a dog or swine in order to undergo the dog-like or swine-
