Distributed House, OMA
Breanna Katsman Representation 2
About Commissioned By Jane Wenner in 2000 and designed by Rem Koolhaas with OMA, the Distributed House was imagined to be a specialized “mini-acropolis.” Instead of building verticaly, the rooms were separated into different compartments and distributed around different landscapes in Harbour Island in the Bahamas. Each room would have a different design aesthetic depending on its occupants and its location on the island. Unfortunately, construction never started for this house and today it remains just as a conceptual model.
