Tom Petty once said, “Music is probably the only real magic I have encountered in my life. There’s not some trick involved with it. It’s pure, and it’s real. It moves, it heals, it communicates and it does all these incredible things.”

Danville based David Victor, vocalist and guitarist formerly of the multi-platinum band Boston, also believes that music can do magical things. His non-profit, Harmony & Healing, brings live music to the bedsides and community spaces of patients and their loved ones in hospitals, healthcare facilities and cancer support groups.

Our mission is to take patient’s and family’s minds off their challenges with live musical performances,’’

says David. “Music lowers patient stress levels, evokes positive associations and speeds healing. It brings happiness to patient’s lives and the lives of their loved ones.”

“I’ve performed for audiences of 20,000 people, but there’s nothing more meaningful or rewarding than giving the gift of music to those who really need it most, at the time they need it most.”

Harmony & Healing has made musical visits to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford, the Ronald McDonald House in Palo Alto, San Ramon Regional Medical Center, Doctor’s Medical in Modesto and Miller Children’s Hospital in Long Beach, with more visits planned in 2020.

Harmony & Healing programs are tailored to the requirements of each facility and patient, including bedside performances and common area performances. Harmony & Healing offers soloists, jazz and pop duos and even full bands for larger common areas. Patients often enjoy common area performances from their rooms. H&H can even provide music lessons for patients able to hold a guitar or play a keyboard.

Harmony & Healing will hold their inaugural fundraiser at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore on March 28, 2020 featuring David Victor’s SUPERGROUP SF, a retrospective of the San Francisco Bay Area music scene. SUPERGROUP SF features the hits of Journey, Train, Creedence Clearwater, Janis Joplin, Metallica, Third Eye Blind and more. David’s most recent performance at the Bankhead last August 2nd was a sell-out!
