LIFE

Life in the middle east has always been chaotic. The ongoing wars and hatred between the countries caused many innocent lives. Exhibition “Life in Death looks into the metaphorical meaning of the Dead Sea layering on the tension between Israel, Jordan and Palestine.

IN

DEATH

Israel; mainly Jews Jordan & Palestine; mainly Arabs. The war waged between the Jews and the Arabs have been going on for many years, and till this date, deaths due to the unending war have been increasing ever since. Could there be any hopes left for peace? Is there life in death? Is there is still hope?

DEAD SEA

The Dead Sea also called the Salt Sea, is a salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east and Israel and Palestine to the west. Its surface and shores are 429 metres below sea level, Earth’s lowest elevation on land. The Dead Sea is 304 m deep, the deepest hypersaline lake in the world. With 34.2% salinity (in 2011), it is also one of the world’s saltiest bodies of water. It is 9.6 times as salty as the ocean. This salinity makes for a harsh environment in which animals cannot flourish, hence its name. The Dead Sea is 50 kilometres long and 15 kilometres wide at its widest point. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley and its main tributary is the Jordan River. The Dead Sea contains many minerals such as calcium, zinc, potassium, magnesium, boron, lithium, sodium. Due to all these minerals left behind, they provide health benefits like the prevention of failure of nervous system, increasing in blood circulation, reducing heart problems, preventing hair loss, reducing stress, reducing joint inflammation, slowing down of skin aging, repairing of damaged tissues, strengthening of bones and boosting of energy.

The Dead Sea has become a famous tourist spot and people from all over the world visits the Dead Sea because of its beneficial nature; it’s healing and life.

Despite it being dead, life thrives.

We are the Jordanians. Jordan is our land. It is an Arab kingdom in Western Asia, on the East Bank of the Jordan River. We are a major tourist destination in the region and is especially popular with expat westerners seeking to live or study in our capital Amman. We hate the Jews. Allah said that it is an honor to incite against them and i feel that hating the Jews have made me honorable in Allah’s eye, and it makes me walk with my head high. Any man of honor should be like us and hate on the Jews. They respect neither treaties nor human beings. They respect nothing at all! What has the Jews given us? Nothing! They don’t deserve our respect at all. Jerusalem is the sacred land for us Arabs, why must the Jews have a share in it also? We want it back. We want our land back. This is what our Jordanian people want. We must support our fellow Arabs living in the Palestine. We must recite the Koranic verses for the souls of their martyrs. We hate the Jews. We hate the Jews.

We are the Israelis. Israel is our land. It is a country in West Asia. We share land borders with Lebanon to the north, Syria in the northeast, Jordan on the east, the Palestinian territories. Our financial center is Tel Aviv, while Jerusalem is our capital. We are the minority of Jews surrounded by the Arabs in our surrounding regions. We want peace. We just want peace. When the Arabs attack us, we need to defend ourselves. We were just defending ourselves. We don’t want war. We want peace. According to the Bible, God promised us the land of Jerusalem. Our ancestors have lived there way before. Because of Abraham’s son; Isaac and Ishmael, an angel prophesied that the Arabs and Jews would be enemies. If Arabs were to lay down their guns tomorrow, there would be no war. If we were to lay down ours, there would be no Israel. If only they would lay down theirs and we will have peace. We were just protecting ourselves. We don’t want it to be this way. In the bible, it is said that all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. This is our fate.

We are the Palestines. Palestine is our land. We are a geographic region in Western Asia between the Mediterranean Sea and the Jordan River. We are situated at a strategic location between Egypt, Syria and Arabia, and the birthplace of Judaism and Christianity, we a long and tumultuous history as a crossroads for religion, culture, commerce, and politics. We are mainly Arabs. Jerusalem is our holy site. It does not belong to Israel. The Israelis are evil, they pushed us into the seas because they didn’t want us in Israel. Even children and woman were not spared. Many of us watched our loved ones fall into the seas. It was a painful sight. We need revenge. We don’t want to be under the evil Israelis. We don’t want to be under the control of Israel. We want more land. The Jews took our land. The Quran said that the Jews are evil and we have to kill them. Israel killed many of us and we must take revenge. We need revenge! We may be refugees, but we are the Palestines.

Despite the fights and wars between these 3 countries, the Dead Sea sits peacefully right in the middle of all it’s happenings. “peaceful & alive”

Can Israel, Palestine, and Jordan find peace with each other? Have

life in all these death?
