loc at io n Around 120 miles west of Marrakesh, Essaouira is a tranquil beauty famous for its fresh fish. This enticing town is almost exclusively painted white whilst doors, windows, shutters and even trawlers are lit in brilliant blue. The Heure Bleue sits just a moment’s walk from various inviting markets, restaurants and cafes, and is only a 500 meters stroll from the ocean and a clear view all the way to the Americas. Within the hotel the riad style central courtyard sets an opulent tone that is continued by rich colours and hanging artworks.
yo u r ro o m With 33 rooms to choose from, the Heure Bleue is bound to have something to excite even the most widely travelled. Suites come in a variety of styles that are representative of the various influences that have changed Essaouira over centuries. Choose between rooms inspired by African, Oriental, British and Portuguese influences; all come with rich darks woods and marble sinks. Windows are shuttered by night, revealing stained glass that throws colour into the room by day. Larger suites are equipped with centrally located, roaring fireplaces, for the cool winter evenings.
why we l ik e i t Take a massage with a panorama of the city in the private treatment room on the roof, or in your room, if you prefer. Indulge in a treatment in the ornate black tiled spa. Be entranced by the call to prayer from the nearby minarets. We love this place as an antidote to the hubbub of Marrakesh.

l ocati on Sheltered from the Atlantic winds not only by the lagoon, but also by headlands at either end, La Sultana is in a world of its very own. Around 120 miles from Marrakech and perched on the coast Oualidia, this hotel enjoys cool sea breezes and the fruits of the local oyster beds. This unique position lends itself to relaxation, being set within lush green gardens that are sustained using environmentally friendly recycling systems. The lagoon’s sandbanks make for placid waters that sparkle with the sun’s rays.
your room w hy we l ike it La Sultana was designed to be kind to its surroundings both in its architectural qualities and in the various ways that the management act to ensure its sustainability credentials. You will love the calming open spaces and the interplay of the lagoon, sand and sky.

The 11 suites that make up La Sultana are dressed in pale stonewashed colours and flooded with natural light. Exposed brickwork and oleander branch ceilings accentuate the rustic feel of the suites, while plush bathroom fixtures act as a reminder of the quality and craftsmanship that surrounds. total peace and tranquillity within the most beautiful of surroundings. Its 16th Century roots are echoed throughout the hotel with original features still very visible and an interior highlighted with antique finds from across the country. If you’re after tranquillity and authenticity, L’iglesia won’t disappoint.
loc at io n El Jadida is a UNESCO World Heritage Site situated on the coast of the Atlantic. L’Iglesia looks out onto the ocean and sits in close proximity of the lively hubbub of the city. Meander along the charming streets and spend your afternoons bartering over authentic goods or walk along the ramparts and watch as young boys daringly plunge into the sea. Getting lost in the small-town peace and quiet is a real pleasure.
your ro o m With just fourteen rooms, L’Iglesia is the ultimate boutique getaway retreat in the most unique of settings. Each room is individually furnished with objects sourced from antique markets and souks worldwide. Unwind in your sophisticated bathroom and enjoy a siesta in the separate living room. You’ll be feeling relaxed in no time.
why we l ike it It is without a doubt the curiosity and uniqueness of staying in an ancient church which appeals to us so much. Enjoy the finest North African cuisine in the place of the former nave, or how about breakfast next to the ramparts with a view out to the ocean? Though centuries old, L’Iglesia feels fresh and modern and yet retains every inch of its originality and charm. What could be better?

Dar R o u m a n a Framed by lush olive groves and the ancient ruins of the Medina walls, Dar Roumana offers the richness and comfort of a traditional Fassi guesthouse, with authentic style and a flash of boutique luxury.
locati o n The Dar Roumana can be found in the north of Fez’s Medina, a beautiful historic setting recognised as a UNESCO heritage site and spending the day here feels as though you’ve stepped back in time. The hotel is located 15 km from the Fez international airport, and is close to all the city’s great sites, restaurants and souks.
your ro o m The five rooms at Dar Raoumana are all stately, spacious, and magnificent in their decorative design. Think high panelled ceilings, ornate stucco window arches, finely carved shutters over stained glass windows and beautifully patterned floor tiling, all oozing Moroccan style and finesse. Much of the furnishings are original dating back around 100 years, complementing the surrounding historic Medina of Fez. All rooms are en suite and come with up to date amenities, including bespoke bath products such as an orange and cardamom scented gel; so good it’s almost edible. The Pride of place goes to the Yasmina Suite. With huge windows that overlook the courtyard and one set opening onto a small private balcony, spend the afternoon soaking up the sounds of the Medina with a good book and a cup of fragrant mint tea.
why we l i k e i t Intimate, elegant and with an exotic attention to detail sums up the vibe at the Dar Roumana. The location is the perfect place to explore the beautiful, cultural city of Fez The highlight of this hotel, however, has to be the food. With an in-house professional French chef, the menu here changes daily depending on what the staff can procure from the local markets, so you know it’s fresh. Who wouldn’t want a taste of traditional cuisine with a gourmet edge? You simply must give it a try

moving to mar rak ec h After three days in Fez’s labyrinthine Medina, it’s time to pack up and make your way to Marrakech. Cruise along the Saharan dessert whilst spotting the jagged Atlas Mountains in your chauffeured vehicle. Yes, the journey from Fez to Marrakech is long, but the trip itself is beautiful. After a day passing though stunning scenery, stretch your legs and take in your first views of Marrakech as dusk begins to set in. Your first experience of the diving swallows, the red skies and the calls to prayer that echo through Marrakech’s streets will be one you never forget. After the long journey, you’ll be thankful of hotel Riad Farnatchi’s traditional Hammam. Stroll down to the candle lit white marble spa and relax with the help of authentic Moroccan oils and fragrant aromas.

dow n by t he s ea Day seven will see you transferred to the charming fishing town of Essaouria. Here you’ll be greeted by the fresh sea air and a town boasting beautiful art and woodcraft. Known as Africa’s Wind city, this is not your usual beach stop off, but the white washed buildings and relaxed atmosphere certainly makes up for it. Take advantage of the high winds and learn to windsurf in the Atlantic, or for the foodies amongst you, this is the perfect town to explore Morocco’s selection of fresh seafood. We highly recommend dining in Port de Peche where you can enjoy freshly caught oysters.. This quiet town brings great contrast against Marrakesh, yet provides the same level of Luxury, shown in the L’Heure Bleue spa hotel. Here you can treat yourself to a range of spa treatments during your two night stay.
You can never spend too many days exploring Morocco’s Medinas, and Marrakech has one of the most enchanting. The cobbled streets are home to endless stalls cooking mouthwatering tagines and tradesmen selling anything from carpets to lanterns. The following day, you’ll be keen to get out into the wider landscapes, so a trip into the high Atlas Mountains for a stroll amongst the peaks is in order. Walking in the Moroccan sunshine will certainly work up an appetite, so be sure to stop off for lunch at Berber Lodge and fuel up on some hearty cuisine before heading back down in your 4X4.
res t and rela x at io n Every getaway needs a little sun and sand, so a trip to Agadir is the perfect way to end your Moroccan adventure. Here you can spend a day at surf school before catching a spectacular sunset. For those of you looking for a little more R&R, lose yourself in a meditation session, or stretch out at yoga to the sound of the waves. After all of Morocco’s hustle and bustle has been explored, this is the perfect place to rejuvenate before you return home.
