Welcome to the Weatherford Public Library. We are excited that you registered as a user. At our library you will find an assortment of items and services.

Borrowing Policies

There is no limit to the number of items you can borrow, with the exception of DVDs (10 per household) and Video Games (1 per household). The checkout period on all items is two weeks. All items except DVDs and Video Games may be renewed three additional times for two weeks at a time, if another borrower has not requested the item. A DVD or Video Game may be renewed two additional times providing no other borrower has requested it. If you lose items or have more than $5.00 in fines, your account will be blocked and you will not be allowed to borrow materials or use the computers until it is cleared. Library staff can work with you to create a payment plan if needed. Materials may be renewed online at catalog.mypcla.com or by calling 817-598-4150.

Reserving Items If you find an item you want, but it is checked out, you may reserve the item. When the item is returned, you will be notified by telephone, e-mail, or text message and the item will be held for you at the front desk. If the item is on reserve for another borrower, it may not check out to others. You may reserve items in the library or from the online catalog at catalog.mypcla.com.


Code of Conduct Weatherford Public Library offers a pleasant environment and quality library service to all users. The following excerpt from the code of conduct is for the well-being and protection of all those using and working in the library. For the full text of the Code of Conduct please visit our website at www.wpltx.com * Children age 11 or younger must have direct adult supervision while in the library. * Use of cell phones is only allowed in the back hallway, the front foyer, or outside. Please silence your phone while in the library so that you do not disturb other library users. * Appropriate clothing and shoes must be worn at all times in the library building. * Disruptive behavior such as running, throwing objects, fighting, engaging in loud conversation, congregating in walkways, restrooms, parking lot, or otherwise impeding access to and in the library is not permitted.

Internet Computers You may register for free Internet access with or without borrowing privileges. At peak usage times, your Internet session may be limited to one hour. All of the library computers feature Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Children age 11 and under must have a parent or guardian with them at all times when using the Internet. Printing: $0.10 for black and white and $0.25 for color. Print funds may be added to your account at the main service desk. No refunds can be given for funds remaining on your account. Those funds will remain on your account until the next time you print something.


The Parker County Library Association (PCLA) consists of the Azle Memorial Library, Boyce Ditto Public Library in Mineral Wells, East Parker County Library in Aledo, Springtown Public Library, and Weatherford Public Library. The PCLA libraries offer a broad selection of books, videos, magazines, newspapers, and audiobooks on CD. Individual libraries also offer other collections, such as downloadable audiobooks, eBooks, music CDs, and genealogy materials. By sharing resources, the PCLA is able to give you easy access to a collection of over 230,000 items. For more information about PCLA, please visit the website at catalog.mypcla.com


The library is a member of the North Texas Libraries on the Go Consortium, which purchases materials in digital format from OverDrive. OverDrive provides the software needed to download and use digital formats on your computer and portable devices.

Digital items (ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, and graphic novels) can be found on an app called Libby. Libby offers iPhone, Android, Windows 10, and Windows 10 mobile versions. Libby features a simple login and checkout processes, the ability to link several different library cards to your app, and renew checkouts (as long as no one else has placed a hold on the item).

Your PIN is the last 4 digits of the phone number.


Confidentiality Statement Protecting your personal information is a top priority for library staff. Please understand that when staff members ask for identification or verification of information, they do so to protect you. By law, staff members are not allowed to disclose any of your personal information or library account information to third parties without a court order or National Security Letter as authorized by the US PATRIOT ACT. Should you require release of your account information to a third party (such as a spouse, child, or neighbor), or if you wish a third party to be able to transact business (such as paying fines) on your behalf, you must provide the library with written permission for the third party to access your account, including their name and the length of time they will be allowed access. For a child, only a parent or legal guardian can provide permission or transact business on the child’s behalf.
