Keynote: Leadership in an Uncertain Future
The geopolitical situation in the world today has not been this volatile nor hostile for a long time. The global marketplace is getting fragmented and bifurcated. High inflation on the back of a fragile recovery from the pandemic is threatening to deliver a global recession. The war in Ukraine has further impaired already deteriorating supply chain weaknesses. It would seem a perfect storm is about to descend upon us.
How will this affect businesses, and how do enterprise leaders plan ahead amidst such volatility and uncertainty and balance the nearand long-term market priorities given the risks?

Fundamentals of Acoustics
Awareness of how the ambient environment of a space affects the quality and propagation of sound –how, for instance, reflective surfaces, such as walls and floors, create waves of echoes that smear speech intelligibility and musical timbre – has been slow to take root, even in dedicated performance venues. But that’s been changing in recent years, driven by the complexity of sound in modern media and content.
Like no other, the field of acoustics is rife with myth, misinformation and marketing tactics that belies the true science and legacy of the trade. Acousticians and acoustical experts have backgrounds rooted in maths and science, and spend years studying and honing their craft. Today, acousticians and acoustical experts work on venues as diverse as classrooms, houses of worship, performance centres, courtrooms, broadcast and recording studios. This two-hour session provides an introduction to the principles of acoustics and their applications and its importance. Fundamental topics include the generation, transmission and reception of acoustic waves.

High stakes within the huddle
IT’S A RARE BREED OF PERSON THAT can be classed as both a visionary and an entrepreneur. Having engineered a conferencing solution in the early days of the millennium, Marty Bodley took the somewhat bolder step of establishing his own company in his mid-30s. His subsequent success was no fluke; he would repeat the feat several more times before firmly establishing himself within the depths of the huddle and meeting room.
Having attained a degree in electromagnetics, for the next decade Bodley cut his teeth initially as a senior engineer and programme manager for aerospace and defence conglomerate Raytheon before entering the commercial world with a Danish wireless headset producer. Five years of international business and product development experience in unified communications would prove to be very valuable. In 2003, Bodley fearlessly entered the realm of start-up technology and soon founded Revolabs, the second of four companies he established in Massachusetts.
Before being fully acquired as a wholly owned subsidiary of Yamaha in 2014, Revolabs rapidly progressed within the
enterprise collaboration market as a pioneering wireless audio solutions provider. Combining leadership skills while inspiring innovative product development, Bodley was instrumental in creating a technological brand that was ahead of its time in terms of functionality, performance, simplicity and design.
Following an acquisition, many entrepreneurs may have been inclined to step back from the footplate. Bodley instead tried something completely different and took the plunge by launching a next-generation amphibious yacht technology platform, Nouvoyage. Several years later, he returned to the world of unified communications by founding productivity and connectivity software ZiipRoom in 2017. Fully aware of the competing, non-compatible technologies being drawn into the conferencing market, Bodley set his aims on enabling one-click connections of presentations, phone calls and video meetings.
At that point in time, Bose Professional was in the process of adding a conferencing division to its portfolio at the nearby Framingham headquarters. The allure of Bodley’s “Presence-Aware” conference room solution (SaaS) fast-tracked the addition of ZiipRoom into the Bose Work division in early 2019, and Bodley came as part of the package. Twelve months later, Bose would launch the VB1 videobar while, simultaneously, the Covid-19 pandemic ensured that working from home practices would place videoconferencing technologies central stage.
In his current role with Bose Work, Bodley is focused on further disrupting the unified communications market by delivering best-in-class solutions that improve the collaborative experience, regardless of where people are located. Having proved his credentials as an innovator and entrepreneur on multiple occasions, Bodley is now blending his technological expertise with a thorough understanding of current and future socioeconomic shifts in behaviour.
“Compared to the pre-pandemic days, Microsoft Teams has accumulated 100 times more users and, as a result, has become a major piece of Microsoft’s portfolio,” Bodley asserts. “We initially witnessed a hard swing over to remote working and right now it is swinging back the other way towards the office. We just don’t know how far it will swing. Human beings continue to be highly innovative and adaptive, continuing to live and work through the pandemic, so there is now a reaction to simply returning to commuting again.”
Following multiple conversations with large corporations, Bodley understands that companies must entice their home workers with carrots. “The hybrid workplace is more attractive if workers can jump onto a meeting such as a BYOM [Bring Your Own Meeting] workflow in which they can run their own devices. Following the events of the past two years, most people can initiate meetings from their own laptops and devices that they could not conduct before. Rather than dedicate rooms for solely providing videoconferencing, businesses are installing technology into rooms for BYOD [Bring Your Own Device] meetings in which you simply need to connect your own laptop.”
Bodley questions whether all employees will ever return to the office in-person, arguing that companies that push their employees too much could be in danger of losing their services. With the emergence of the hybrid workplace, Bodley is witnessing a conflict between employers who mainly want their workers back in the building and employees who realise that they can still be very productive working from home. “There’s a little tug of war going on right now with many employers wanting to bring back their employees full time. However, it is still early days, and most companies are trying to figure it all out. There’s a wide contrast between employees from those who are ready to return five days per week
to those who want to remain at home full time.”
Translating current trends into videoconferencing technology is perhaps Bodley’s forte. “From a macro perspective, technology is going to help with the changing scenarios, with more video enablement in those areas where people have become accustomed to using it. Cloud videoconferencing together with Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Zoom, WebEx and others is now part of everyone’s daily life, so we must enhance productivity by promoting their use. From a Bose Professional perspective, technology can help to bridge the gap in those areas where there are currently challenges in participation.”
Bodley notes that many employees have become emboldened and empowered by not being tied to a physical office. “Certain personalities are more comfortable with flexibility and their game elevates when they can pop down to a coffee shop for their 9am meeting, whereas others prefer the stability and routine of the office. Before, you could not be part of a meeting if you were in an airport, but that is no longer the case. You cannot force everyone to adopt one certain model or tie workers to a building with rules. As technology advances along with high-speed connectivity and 5G, productivity will become much more efficient. By patching in someone who isn’t present to be part of the realtime audio video experience, video enablement of more spaces will become a huge part of all this.”
Considering himself as an inventor who thrives on challenges, Bodley confesses that he rises to the occasion when told that something is not possible. “With my track record in developing innovative new experiences that solve problems, Bose wants me to translate this into its
ethos. Basically, if you are planning to create something better, you must design it differently from before, as there is no point in making it different just for the
room, exclusion zones reject unwanted sound and auto EQ delivers optimised audio to all participants. A 4K Ultra HD camera provides a wide panorama and
in terms of price point for wide-scale deployment in lots of places. It’s network manageable, making it easy to set up and use, and comes in a smaller form factor at a smaller price point. It can fit into a lot of new spaces.”
Although the VB-S comes straight out of the box with commonly used settings that don’t necessarily need to be adjusted, some technicians may wish to fine-tune it manually by accessing advanced settings such as the camera, playback, microphone, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi serving as an extension to a smartphone or for music playback. “A lot of features such as the microphone are selfaware but, if a user doesn’t want the microphone beams scanning around, ‘keep out zones’ can be
Bodley elucidates a little, providing a glimpse further along the product roadmap.
VB-S all-in-one USB conferencing device is the latest arrival in the Bose Work portfolio. Like the original Bose Videobar VB1, the VB-S operates across key unified communications platforms, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom – for which it is already officially certified –and Google Meet. Four beam-steering microphones focus on voices within the
a phone.
“To compete in spaces with videobars and audio equipment, the smaller brother to the Bose VB1 is being targeted at employers demanding video enablement of huddle rooms, phone booths, modular conference rooms and soft furnished areas in larger open spaces. Bose VB-S has the perfect product feature set
“Following the videobar products, Bose Professional will expand and deliver valuable experiences that either no one else is providing or will be at a different level of performance from what is currently available. Our research is currently pushing the envelope on surround sound, 3D directional sound, experiences of noise removal and filtering and the application of AI in audio. For example, how do we attribute who said what in a room full of people? Microsoft and many cloud-based companies are working in the same areas, but Bose has a long history in audio with deep resources, so whether it’s in the room or a remote experience, Bose can add value with its expertise.”
Bodley may be a proven entrepreneur, visionary and innovator but, most importantly, he has developed the uncanny knack of intertwining technology with real-world demands that project well into the future.

Bolero connects anywhere
RIEDEL COMMUNICATIONS has unveiled Bolero 2.4 GHz. Instead of Bolero’s standard DECT band, the new iteration operates on the 2.4 GHz band, allowing customers in regions where DECT carrier frequencies are either limited or unavailable – such as China, India and South Korea – to navigate difficult RF environments.
Bolero 2.4 GHz uses a practically identical feature set and offers the same three network modes as the DECT version: Integrated, Standalone Link and Standalone 2110 (AES67). The 2.4 GHz band limits use to eight beltpacks per antenna instead of 10, but allows for connectivity anywhere, with just one “Global” region for 2.4 GHz antennas. The 2.4 GHz iteration also comes with Bolero’s high-clarity voice codec and its multipath tolerant receiver (ADR) technology adapted to 2.4 GHz, allowing the system to continuously adapt to changing RF reflection environments. Other features include near-field communication touch-and-go beltpack registration, an ergonomic, robust beltpack design and three modes: beltpack, desktop key panel or walkie-talkie.
While Bolero 2.4 GHz was developed primarily for Riedel’s international customers, regions in the US where the number of DECT carrier frequencies are limited can benefit from a hybrid 2.4 GHz and DECT system, enabling the creation of larger installations with a higher number of users in a limited space.
The manufacturer has also launched the Audio Monitoring App (AMA) for its 1200 Series SmartPanels.
With the AMA – combined with Riedel’s Intercom App and Control Panel App – the RSP-1216HL and RSP-1232HL SmartPanels offer users audio streaming monitoring, intercom and control capabilities in a single keypanel.
For the monitoring of audio streams, the AMA allows for a direct connection to any SMPTE ST 2110-30 (AES67) stream
available on the network – either dynamically managed via NMOS or in a static IP/SDP-based configuration, mixing the audio directly inside the SmartPanel. The app can be configured via a dedicated configuration tool or a broadcast controller using the built-in API. In addition, the selection and management of monitored audio sources is described as simple and flexible. Users can monitor up to 16 stereo/ mono SMPTE ST 2110-30 (AES67) streams in parallel. A total of 256 audio sources can be preconfigured and managed directly on the RSP-1216HL and RSP-1232HL SmartPanels via their high-resolution touch displays and intuitive interfaces.
The AMA also enables operators to monitor audio streams while simultaneously managing a production via the Intercom App. With both apps running on the same endpoint, their inter-app behaviour can be configured to automatically lower the monitoring volume in the event of an incoming call, or lower the intercom volume when soloing an audio source. And with the Control Panel App, 1200 Series SmartPanel users can trigger actions in third-party control, monitoring and automation systems while receiving visual feedback on configuration status and changes via colours, labels, subtitles and icons on the keypanels’ touchscreens.

NEXO adds to ID family
NEXO HAS unveiled a new big brother to the ID24, and its first column speaker design, in the form of the ID84. The new cabinet comprises eight 4-inch long-excursion neodymium low-frequency drivers paired with an array of eight 1-inch dome tweeters configured in a patented arrangement to maximise efficiency. It boasts a peak SPL output of 135dB and a frequency response of 90Hz–20kHz, with the French manufacturer stating that it is equally competent for speech and music reinforcement, and able to perform as a front-ofhouse reinforcement system in its own right.
The slim, 1m-long column is joined by two companion products, a low-frequency extension module (ID84L) and partner sub-bass (IDS312), which can be configured to provide a scalable solution for acoustically challenging architectures. Weighing 15kg, the ID84 measures 990mm x 150mm and is constructed from rigid, lightweight aluminium, with a steel spine to host the rigging system and facilitate the hanging of multiple cabinets. Magnelis side covers and front grille complete its aesthetic, while the enclosure
is available as standard in black or white, with custom RAL colour options to match any installation environment.
The ID84 offers switchable dispersion, with a choice of two vertical directivities selectable by a switch on the back plate – +0/–10° in Narrow Mode or +0/–25° in Wide Mode. Dedicated presets are available for each directivity. Sonically, the ID84 shares the same phase response as other NEXO loudspeakers, making it possible to pair with different models without the risk of comb filtering or the need for complex electronic adjustment.
For long-throw applications, the ID84L lowfrequency extension cabinet has almost exactly the same footprint as the ID84 and contains eight 4-inch LF components. By doubling the line length, the vertical directivity of the assembly is increased in the low frequencies
while reportedly leaving the horizontal directivity unchanged. By coupling four units (two ID84s with two ID84Ls), the HF arrangements can be paired at two mid-points to produce cardioid
The ID84 can stand alone on a specially designed base plate or stacked on the dedicated IDS312 sub. The sub itself weighs 31kg and measures 1,160mm x 380mm x 350mm. Frequency response is 40–120Hz and the peak SPL output is 138dB. The enclosure houses three high-excursion neodymium drivers in a bass-reflex enclosure design. The crossover between the IDS312 and ID84 has been designed to extend both the frequency response of the main speaker and the directivity by acting like a homogenous 2m-high sound source.

Ayrton lights the stage
AYRTON HAS unveiled two models in a new family of luminaires for stage lighting. Equipped with a 40W LED source with RGB+W additive colour synthesis, the Zonda 9 Wash and Zonda 9 FX fit into Ayrton’s Multi Sources 9 Series category.
The Zonda 9 Wash is intended for stage lighting in its truest sense. A silent ventilation mode has been developed especially for this fixture to accommodate the quieter environment often required by stage lighting. The colour mixing of the sources is via concentric circles that can be controlled independently to adjust the size of the emitting surface and the luminaire’s power. A complete library of pre-programmed colours is accessible.
The Zonda 9 FX is a designed for a multitude of applications, borrowing from the main features of the Wash version and offering infinite continuous rotation on the pan and tilt axes. Individual control of each LED allows users to create 3D volumetric effects. This includes a high-definition liquid effect produced from between its main lenses to create complex graphic effects, known as LiquidEffect, which can be used alone or in combination with the main LED matrix. Both models share the same proprietary optical system comprising a 384mm-diameter dial of 37 lenses in PMMA, combined with 37 glass light guides with an output surface made of an optical micro-structure. The optical system can produce a light output of 25,000 lumens with a CRI of greater than 86.
Endowed with a 50mm truncated transmitting lens with an optical surface equivalent to that of a 70mm round
lens, the fixtures can produce an intensive beam with a zoom ratio of 14:1 and a wide zoom range of 4–56°.
Cobra is Ayrton’s first IP65 laser sourced fixture. Designed for rendering a D65 white point that allows perfect colour reproduction, the manufacturer reports that Cobra is the only luminaire on the market capable of illuminating an object several kilometres away, with
Alongside the new PTZs, the brand has introduced USB document cameras for teachers and presenters. The DC132U HD/2K document camera is a portable device and, building on the success of its predecessor, the DC125, forms the manufacturer’s new standard USB visualiser. The new model features a 16x zoom (via software) and closes focusing down to 4cm, producing video at HD resolution and above.
Recording at up to 30fps, the DC132U connects to a PC or Mac via USB to capture, share and display images. The device’s joint-free, flexible gooseneck enables 360° viewing angles and extreme closeups where visualising detail is crucial.
The DC-F20 HD/2K is a USB document camera that is foldable, portable and lightweight, delivering images with video output of 1080p resolution and higher (up to 2K). With the included Ladibug software, users can position and zoom the lens position, apply on-screen annotation and highlight parts of the document. Both of the new document cameras can connect to remote guests using popular conferencing platforms, such as Zoom, Meet, Skype or Teams.

Leyard brings Micro LED to larger pixel pitches
THE SECOND generation of Leyard’s Black Diamond series has been launched, introducing new Micro LED display technology for pixel pitches above 0.9mm for the first time. The company’s Nin1 Micro LED technology continues to serve products with pixel pitches lower than 1mm. The new Black Diamond Micro LED packages use flip-chip technology that reportedly results in higher stability and reliability
than previous SMD LEDs, together with three times the contrast ratio and twice the brightness. The result is uniform light distribution with lower power consumption.
The Black Diamond series products make use of a common cathode driver IC and ASIC display control chip with independent intellectual property rights which results in a 27% power consumption reduction
compared to a common anode driver design when running at the brightness of 600–800 nits. It’s also capable of 2,000-nit peak brightness at peak power consumption. Advanced image processing technology is also reportedly capable of achieving 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut with twice the colour purity.

Vaddio highlights in-room audio solutions
THROUGH ITS partnership with Audinate, robotic PTZ camera and camera control systems company Vaddio has developed products that integrate into new or existing systems to deliver highquality audio.
The new offering includes the EasyIP Ceiling Speaker D, EasyIP AMP D and EasyIP CeilingMIC/AMP D.
The EasyIP AMP D powers passive speakers and brings Dante-networked audio to any space. For more convenience, the EasyIP CeilingMIC/AMP D features Vaddio’s Dante ceiling microphone with a built-in amplifier for powering nearby analogue speakers from a single PoE Ethernet connection.
The new audio offerings join other AVoIP audio solutions from Vaddio, such as the EasyIP ceiling and table microphones, EasyIP Mixer and AV Bridge 2x1. The EasyIP Mixer features a Dante audio matrix that allows installers to combine Dante audio sources with EasyIP cameras, making it a simple production switcher, while the AV Bridge 2x1 combines Dante audio with analogue video mixing functionality in a single device.
Away from audio, the manufacturer has announced a new PTZ camera specifically engineered and certified for use in Microsoft Teams Rooms. The camera features 30x zoom with 70.2° field of view and is equipped with Vaddio’s IntelliFrame auto-framing technology.
Rather than rely on facial recognition

What is your focus at this year’s exhibition?
For VITEC, like so many other businesses, InfoComm SEA is a great opportunity to reconnect with valued partners, colleagues and friends from across Southeast Asia. There have been so many challenges in the last two years, with each country starting to bounce back at different times, so it’s a great chance to find out how different businesses are changing or adapting and how we can use our IP-based video technology solutions to help.
VITEC has an amazing range of IPTV, streaming video and digital signage solutions to fit the different end user requirements – large or small, complex or simple – across vertical markets such as corporate, government, venues, defence, health and hospitality, amongst others. Our focus will be listening to our customers’ requirements and helping design a solution to best fit.
What aspects of your business have changed the most since 2019?
For us, the biggest and most exciting change has been the acquisition of Exterity by VITEC in April 2021, and the subsequent rebranding and integration to a single business. There was such a great synergy between the legacy solutions from each business that the merging of these delivers even more powerful and flexible outcomes for our customers. We can deliver more to our existing end users and vertical markets, such as broadcast and military, have been made even more accessible with the complete solutions now available. Features such as ultra-low-latency (16ms glass to glass), low bitrate and highquality streaming, delivery in challenging environments or with mixed connectivity, additional layers of security and delivery of real-time multicast over Wi-Fi make us a unique provider of best-in-class solutions from a single platform.
What are the most pressing challenges facing your target markets?
There are several challenges. Currently, the most common discussion revolves around the supply problems that both big and small manufacturers are experiencing. Fortunately, VITEC has done a great job
at managing supply – we have been transparent, communicated well and haven’t experienced the issues to the extent that others are facing. That said, for our customers trying to implement solutions of which we are part, it has been a huge headache. Many projects are being delayed and future projects are having to be planned around availability of product – not necessarily around when a customer would like to do something as was the norm. With 12-month lead times being quoted by some, it seems this will be a challenge for our markets for some time to come. At VITEC, we will continue to be ready to help deliver the right solution, at the right value, on time and with the very best levels of service and support.
The other common challenge that our corporate, government, venues, defence and education customers are facing is how to manage the hybrid workplace, with an often-remote workforce, connectivity challenges and an ever-growing list of devices that people both want and need to connect with. We have seen an uptick in these requirements and, with a single platform to manage this challenge, it’s an area where we continue to exceed customer expectations.

If this is your first in-person show this decade, why did you select IFSEA?
In addition to InfoComm India, InfoComm SEA marks our first opportunity to exhibit at a tradeshow since 2019. The focus is on networking and marking our presence in the market, so we’re not specifically showcasing products per se. However, we will be highlighting technologies for corporate spaces such as occupancy sensors and space density software, together with some digital signage.
Where do I begin? In January 2020, private equity firm Baird Capital acquired a large stake in the group. The senior management team consists of Huaming Gu as CEO, myself as deputy CEO, Molly Chow as executive director, Kenny Wai as CFO and Paul Cullum as COO. Covid-19 has, without doubt, shaped and accelerated the technological path that Vega Global and others embarked on long ago. Videoconferencing (VC) technology already existed, but the adoption rate was low, so end user demand has exponentially driven the uptake of Unified Collaboration
Vega Global purchased a legal entity in New Zealand to oversee projects, extended operations in Japan, established a subsidiary in the Middle East and welcomed new managers into the fold. In addition, we also formalised a strategic alliance with Aura-Futures, our sister company that is also a Baird Capital portfolio company which we now jointly collaborate on go-to-market strategies together with increased integration of delivery operations.
What has been the greatest breakthrough in audio, video or lighting over the past
LEDs are really coming into their own nowadays in a wider range of applications. In addition to higher resolutions of up to 8K being available, the price points of this technology have become so much more palatable. Saving time and money onsite, solutions such as Samsung’s out-of-thebox videowall can be installed in about two hours. We recently installed a large LED wall into a hotel in Japan with an adjacent green room where actors, musicians and performers can be filmed during fashion shows, weddings and corporate events, without having to go on a stage. As a result, ballrooms and other function rooms are much more in demand.

Atlona’s OmniStream family provides uncompromised AV-over-IP performance and reliability, and we will highlight OmniStream’s latest codec technology enhancements. We expect this will attract audiences seeking scalable network AV solutions that enable low-latency distributed AV, videowall processing and secure all-IP meeting place solutions. Our existing customers will be pleased to learn that they may upgrade their installed OmniStream base with these new enhancements at no cost.
Velocity is Atlona’s first IP-enabled AV control system, launched several years ago. Velocity has now evolved to support room scheduling and asset management alongside control, creating a cost-effective, all-inclusive platform for corporate and education customers. We will also highlight Velocity Remote Gateway, a new subscription-based cloud service that allows integrators and tech managers to remotely configure, manage and control AV systems over the internet. We are also excited about our emerging Atlona Captivate product family, which today includes a speakerphone and an auto-framing ePTZ camera. Captivate is a very new and quickly developing Atlona

What is your focus at this year’s exhibition?
AWe are showcasing our full range of products comprising the latest display and integrated solutions which are designed to work together to create seamless and extraordinary shared experiences. At the same time, we look forward to reconnecting and deepening our relationships with partners and customers in Southeast Asia whom we have not met in-person for the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
AWe will be setting our sights on several vertical markets in Southeast Asia such as theme parks and entertainment, rental staging, corporate and experiential as the region is poised for a strong rebound post-Covid-19 to become one of the most promising markets worldwide. According to AVIXA’s 2022 Industry Outlook and Trends Analysis, the pro AV sector is growing fast, with an annual growth rate of 5.9% from 2022–2027. A new Asian Development Bank (ADB) report released in July 2022 also highlighted that Southeast Asia’s green recovery has the potential to create
US$172b in investment opportunities annually and generate more than 30 million jobs by 2030. We are therefore convinced that the outlook for Southeast Asia is promising, given its demographics and potential for economic growth.
What has been the greatest breakthrough in audio, video or lighting over the past decade?
Christie has continued to lead the way in advancing laser illumination technology over the past decade by offering the widest range of leading-edge laser projectors in the industry. Our greatest breakthrough is in RGB pure laser projection technology, where our innovative laser illumination system architectures, which include our proprietary all-in-one design with integrated cooling and sealed optical path, continue to outperform competing systems in their class. For example, our Griffyn Series and M 4K Series pure laser projectors are capable of producing an exceptionally wide colour gamut, achieving over 95% of the Rec. 2020 colour space – more than twice the colour of Rec. 709 and 50% more than DCI-P3-capable projectors – for an enhanced audience experience. As a testament to this achievement, many of our customers are impressed that our projection systems
What aspects of the business have changed most since 2019?
During the pandemic, most of our customers advanced their skillsets by enrolling on training courses. What has been the greatest breakthrough in lighting technology over the past decade?
can deliver excellent picture quality at very compact sizes and weight. We will be showcasing these state-of-the-art systems at InfoComm SEA.
What trends or themes do you expect to dominate or emerge at IFSEA?
Customers are getting increasingly sophisticated in their display requirements, due to the advancement in projection mapping, AR, XR and MR. We anticipate that newer applications such as esports will become more dominant as interest in virtual and interactive experiences continues to rise. There is also stronger demand for projection technology in museums and experience centres as the operators of these venues recognise the need to incorporate immersive and interactive elements to keep their guests engaged and increase visitors. Likewise, the hospitality and tourism sectors are experiencing a rebound as more countries lift travel restrictions to welcome back overseas tourists. This translates into higher demand for AV technology, and we see greater opportunities for our budgetfriendly and high-performance projectors, videowalls and integrated display solutions in such venues.

What are the most pressing challenges facing your target markets?
Where do I begin? Currently – shortages of supplies and manpower, logistics and overall volatility. Our industry lost a lot of good employees during the pandemic as they discovered they held little job security.
I’ve been in the industry for over 30 years and have witnessed many different challenges to date, but the current situation is out of control.
This is our first exhibition since InfoComm SEA 2019, so it will be great to reconnect once again with our Thai and other Southeast Asian customers. Thailand is TSM’s biggest market
outside Singapore and we have had an office in Bangkok for many years to service the main production companies, including film. As we have taken on some new brands since we were last here – including AV Stumpfl, Astera Lighting, ARRI Lighting and Zactrack – it will be interesting to gauge the market feedback to these products.

Why should a visitor come to the TSM booth?
Our team will be showing new technology solutions that can help our creative clients produce new wow experiences for their shows and events. Other than technology, what’s more important for us is we can meet our friends again at a tradeshow. After two+ years away, we will appreciate the handshake, face-to-face communication and laughter more.

In addition, we are showcasing our powerful dual-channel SCP series amplifiers, the user-friendly WP2xx series of wall panels and the Vexo loudspeaker series.
What aspects of your business have changed the most since 2019?
We all have experienced unprecedented challenges in the past few years. Our team has done an incredible job to find ways and solutions for each one that came at us. All of these challenges come with the same goals of providing the best customer experience.
For example, our R&D team no longer had to concentrate solely on developing new innovations. Occasionally, there was also the need to modify existing products to ensure they were compatible with components that were available on the market. This led to faster delivery times. We are a close-knit team without complicated organisational charts, so we were able to prioritise and switch quickly to the most important tasks. We definitely learnt how to become more flexible and agile throughout all of our business processes.
What are the most pressing challenges facing your target markets?
