elcome to the first-ever InfoComm Southeast Asia. It is a pleasure to be in Bangkok, where I look forward to greeting new and old friends. On behalf of AVIXA, the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association, and our partner InfoCommAsia Pte Ltd, I encourage you to spend this week thinking about how you can use audiovisual solutions to change the way people experience the world. The speed of change – especially in technology – has accelerated to the point where it has outpaced our ability to adapt. Still, companies and professionals cannot afford to fall behind. Even as it becomes harder to adjust for new technology, experts argue that the best way to keep up is by innovating in every aspect besides technology. For the pro AV industry, that means focusing on the experience. People use information technology; they experience audiovisual solutions – in conference rooms, lecture halls, museums, public spaces, theatres and stadiums. Literally, almost everywhere. BITEC daily charges for vehicle parking are as follows:

A prayer room is located in the lower basement level to support visitors of Muslim faith who need to maintain their daily practice. Access to the prayer room is via the escalators leading down from the main lobby.

Successful projects are the result of good planning (including drawing on previous experience) and ongoing communication and coordination between all parties. This is Project Management. We will look at the basics, and some not so basics, of project management principles and practices as they apply to the AV industry. This workshop should be of interest to you if you are involved in delivering projects to your organisation’s clients, or indeed if you are the client or an allied professional. In this workshop, you will explore the field-tested project management principles. From satisfying the client’s needs to working with house crews, all while working with multiple vendors, successfully managing an event is a learned skill. You will learn why the preparation phase of project management is key, especially with emphasis on change management, assessing potential problems and risk. You’ll also understand how to manage technical quality with relation to the venue in terms of infrastructure.
