Candidate statement (300 words maximum) Write below a short critical analysis of your visual arts work. Consider some or all of the following key words to help you with your statement. Concerns Sources Influences
Context Skills Techniques
Media Scale Purpose
Process Achievements Focus
My research consisted of mix media, love, and worldwide problems. Through my artwork I expressed worldwide problems and I really did not stick to one specific worldwide problem but I focused on several. I also gave an overview of many several worldwide problems in one art piece and then focused on other problems in specific. I did research on many worldwide problems because I did not just want to focus on the problems that I had on top of my head, so researching came in great help. I used mix media with paints, rhinestones, jars, paper, and other supplies. I felt comfortable using this type of media because after trying to work with other Medias such as just pencil and carving into stencils, it was not one of my strongest abilities because I had trouble trying to get the techniques correctly. When a studio was assigned to me I had trouble trying to get my ideas from my head to the piece of the paper that was my biggest concern. Another great challenge that I faced while getting my art studio done was that I did not have the right technique because it was a new technique that was taught to me so it was a challenge getting the right technique in a few weeks and implementing the shadows, textures, and correct techniques into my studio. Even though I had some challenges while doing the studios I could say that I put in the best effort and a strength that I could see in my art studios were that most of them are linked together and I have seen improvements throughout my art pieces from the very beginning in till today. Visiting museums and doing research have influenced me and taught me techniques. For example Shen was an artist that inspired me though her paintings and her use of colors to express her ideas as well as the artist Cynthia Feustel through her painting named “Pearls.
