Candidate statement (300 words maximum) Write below a short critical analysis of your visual arts work. Consider some or all of the following key words to help you with your statement. Concerns Sources Influences

All of my work overall is not related, however, a theme can be recognized in most of my artworks as being “Alternate Universes. The theme alternate universes is shown in most of my work not only through the depiction of different worlds, but also through different views on things, and some of my beliefs. Throughout all my studios, I tried to implement different techniques and different media. When I used pencil, I would focus on hatching and shading. When I used printmaking, l I really had to focus on the technique I was using on the linoleum block with the gouge to make sure I could get the details and shading right. Later on I began to use oil pastels more, and I think one of my achievements with these media were the studios 8 and 10. My achievements were learning to use different types of media, and really improving in some. Some setbacks I had while creating my studios is that it would take me long to find an inspiration. Most of my inspirations for my studios were found in things that we do or see every day whether it be a cartoon show, computer, internet, social media, video games, and some came through research or past beliefs. My sources mostly came from the Internet and some other classes such as history.
