Employment Contracts & Remuneration –
TEPP negotiates all employment and retainer contracts with the ECB, including all employment terms and conditions as well as the principles on how players’ remuneration is calculated. CENTRAL CONTRACTS At the beginning of October in each year the ECB may award Central Contracts to players expected to play a major role for England across any or all formats of the international game. The duration of the Central Contracts may be for either one, two or three years. Up to 27 Central Contracts can be in place at any time. For centrally contracted players, an England retainer payment (and pension contribution) replaces the County salary, but the relevant County retains each player’s registration. Central Contracts are awarded on a performance ratings points system; each player will be awarded rating points based on the likelihood of him featuring in the squads and teams for each format in which a player is expected to participate. In determining the number of ratings points a player will be awarded, performance data and information provided by ECB performance staff will be utilised. MATCH, SERIES AND TOUR FEES All players who are selected for England (including those on Central and Development Contracts) for a match, series, tour or ICC Event will be paid an additional fee based on the number and type of matches to be played in the series, tour or ICC Event.
DEVELOPMENT CONTRACTS Development Contracts have been introduced with a view to enhancing the number of international cricketers that will be available to England.
