Q: How should a community talk about Education? In our most recent Leadership Pasadena session, we looked at Education from as many perspectives as we could squeeze in. Discussions covered the importance of school readiness, how shared values can shape a cohesive community vision around education, and what support systems have developed for students and families through collaboration.

COLLECTIVE IMPACT = COMMUNITY IMPACT Sharing a common agenda, continuous communication, metrics, and reinforcing activities with the support of a backbone organization is the framework for collective impact. COLLABORATION SPOTLIGHT: Rose City High School Principal, Brian Stanley, shared how important building relationships with co-collaborators has been in giving his students (and his school) new opportunities and support to grow & thrive.
LEADERSHIP TIP: Navigating conflict is part of being an effective leader. The Thomas Kilmann Conflict Mode Instrument (TKI) is a way to evaluate your own conflict style (how you show up, who you clash with, and why) and helps you navigate to healthier communication with others
