On the 27th of July, Adrian and Emma from the Blenheim Park Estates Marketing Team took on the challenge of the Macmillan Peak District Mighty Hike.

The event consisted of a 27 mile hike, starting from Darley Moor and ending in Bakewell.
The money that we raise from the event will be contributed to John Burkhill’s Magic Million Goal. John has been fundraising for Macmillan for 28 years and since his wife and daughter passed away, he has dedicated his life to raising money for the charity. John is often seen walking around Sheffield wearing his green wig, with his pram for people to donate into.
“The overall experience of the Mighty Hike was amazing. The organisation of the event was incredible and the pit stops were a great way to keep you motivated to get through the next set of miles. The route itself took you through some stunning scenery, including Dovedale, which is a place I have always wanted to walk! I am proud to say that I have walked a marathon and whilst doing so, have raised money for a fantastic cause.” - Emma
“I have been thinking about running a Marathon for some time now and when we looked into the Mighty Hike the thought of walking rather than running instantly appealed. Although the exertion was less than running, the time it took to complete became the real challenge and the last 6 miles were a lot harder than the previous 21 put together. The thought of refreshments kept me going and I was really impressed with the food, drinks and facilities provided. I enjoyed it so much I’m considering signing up for another one next year.” - Adrian
