Having spent years living in a large house in Hathersage, the couple decided that they wanted to downsize and move back to Sheffield. Impressed by the quality of work that they’d seen from Blenheim across the area, Michael and Jayne put all of their trust in Paul Blackburn and his team, selling their house with Blenheim Park Estates and using Blenheim Park Developments to find their perfect new address and construct their ideal new home.

“Paul and his team were looking for a house that we could modernise. This was an old Victorian place, which was dated. It didn’t quite have the size but the plot was lovely and square, it’s in a great location and we could create what we wanted with it ” Michael tells us.

“When we first got the house we sat down with Paul and discussed what we wanted from it, and everything evolved as we went along. He pays great attention to detail, he’s fantastic with that. You can put your trust in him and he’s going to do a great job,’ says Jayne.

“We bought the basic house and then it was gutted completely back to the stonework. Our old house was ancient, 500 years old. This house has all underfloor heating, computer wiring, all of the latest technologies, sound systems, it’s the complete opposite, there’s no work involved in living in this house,” Michael goes on to say.

“Not only are Blenheim involved throughout the process, but they ensure you’ve one single point of contact from conception to completion, and they consistently bring fresh ideas and advice to the table, taking genuine care and pride in all that they do”.

“If you look at this house, look at the lampshades and the architraves – normal builders wouldn’t do that. Normally, you’d get a builder and he’d just do what you tell him to do, and if you don’t know what you want, you’ll get a square room, a plug socket in each doorway and that’s it. Whereas these guys, they’re looking at the whole vision.”

Michael and Jayne, along with their lovely Labradoodle, Hector, showed us around their stunning home, it was clear to see that everyone’s hard work has well and truly paid off.
