Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a Circus Clown? Richard Melendy, Big Top the Clown, will instruct children about the basics of circus clowning. Clown make-up, clown character development, comic movement, pantomime, physical comedy (tumbles & pie throwning), juggling and plate spinning, skit developement, & overall theatrical skills will be taught. Each child will develope his or her own clown face and character. At the end

of the workshop, children will have the opportunity to display their newly acquired skills in a circus clown show for parents and friends. Towels, old tshirts and pants are recommended. Students should bring a snack & a drink for each day. The second day, students should wear clothes they don’t mind getting stained, including towels for the pie fight and the clown makeup session.
