LOTS OF MAN (Bold Commander – Blind Date by Discovery) was unraced but became the sire of W S Cox Plate winner Family Of Man, one of Australia’s finest gallopers in the 1970s, a real crowd favourite. Family Of Man was an iron horse who raced 78 times for 21 wins and 29 placings and earnings of $639k which was a phenomenal amount at the time. He recorded 7 Gr1 wins and after winning a stakes race as a 2yo he was a SW every season he raced until he was seven, winning or placing at Gr1 level in each season from a 3yo to 7yo.
LOTS OF Man sired 43 winners from 112 runners, remarkably, the only SW was the Gr1 superstar Family OF Man. Some things defy explanation. From very limited opportunity Family Of Man sired the Gr1 winner Sonic Express, Gr2 winner Denver Dame, Golden Slipper runnerup Speed Check and altogether almost 10% stakes performers to runners.
Congratulations to our winner Darryl Sullivan from Railton in Tasmania.
