The rationale for this call was simple, skin cancer is increasing at an alarming rate. With over 5 million new cases of skin cancer this year and one person dying every hour, Admiral Lushniak, a dermatologist, knew that it was time to make sun protection a national priority.
*Maryellen Maguire-Eisen RN is an oncology and dermatology nurse with over thirty years of experience. She is an Adjunct Instructor at Boston University, an American Cancer Society Scholar, and the winner of multiple service and research awards. Ms. Maguire-Eisen is the Founder and Executive Director of the Children's Melanoma Prevention Foundation. The Blue Hills Community Health Alliance works to improve the overall health of local residents through increased coordination and delivery of existing services, expanded community actions, and the mobilization of community resources. Encompassing the towns of Braintree, Canton, Cohasset, Hingham, Hull, Milton, Norwell, Norwood, Quincy, Randolph, Scituate, Sharon, and Weymouth.
