Welcome We are thrilled to open the 2017/18 season with a newly renovated Arts Annex building! The changes allow us to offer an enhanced menu of art and theatre classes in our new art studio. We also have a versatile business suite that is perfect for smaller business meetings and private celebrations. More renovations are in store for January 2018 but until then, the remainder of 2017 is packed with spectacular theatre performances, live music concerts and other exciting cultural events. We are planning a grand re-opening and ribbon cutting event in the spring of 2018. Please join us then as we reveal our spectacular new arts space. Forest Moon Theater (Wake Forest’s Community Theater) will start their season at the Renaissance Centre with California Suite followed by their annual youth production Babe, the Sheep-Pig. While we are under renovation, they will finish their season with Sylvia and Proof at the Wake Forest Community House. Marking the first of many professional dance performances to come, Miki Orihara, will be here in September presenting an educational, modern dance performance. Miki is best known for her work as a principal dancer in the Martha Graham Dance Company. In addition to performing the Graham repertory, she has worked closely with the renowned Japanese-American dancer, choreographer and director, Yuriko. We love bringing children’s literature to life on stage! Mark your calendars in October for not one, but two of Vital Theatre’s productions based on popular, award winning children’s books. Flight School, the Musical and Pinkalicious, the Musical are sure to delight your family and be a dream come true for pink loving enthusiasts. As the holiday season draws near, the Renaissance Centre goes “Under the Boardwalk” with The Drifters. This is not a tribute band, but the real thing! The Drifters are regarded as one of early rock and roll’s supergroups and charted with mega hits like “On Broadway,” “Stand By Me” and “Up on the Roof.” You won’t want to miss out on this magical holiday concert which is sure to warm the hearts of all. We look forward to serving our wonderful Wake Forest community this season. At the Renaissance Centre for the Arts, there is something for everyone! — Cathy Gouge Centre Manager Wake Forest Renaissance Centre for the Arts 405 S.
