Technology Program We believe students have endless possibilities for learning in the digital world, and Bishop Montgomery uses technology to support this learning. Our technology platform continues to grow as we provide our students with the resources necessary to adapt and succeed in today’s innovative learning environments.
The Total High School Experience Spiritual Development
Bishop Montgomery seeks to nourish students’ spiritual development with faith experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. In addition to four years of religion classes, students participate in retreats, school-wide liturgies, and a variety of community service opportunities. Our chaplain and BMHS alumnus, Fr. Allen Ramirez ’64, offers Mass each morning in our chapel, celebrates monthly liturgies with the student body, and provides the Sacrament of Penance and spiritual counseling as needed.
Academic Excellence
With an emphasis on academic excellence, the college-prep environment at BMHS prepares students for the college of their choice. Each year, 99-100% of seniors pursue higher education; 80% proceed directly to four-year universities. Twenty-nine honors and AP classes across all subject areas provide a challenging curriculum, and five language choices (Latin, French, German, Italian, Spanish) compliment a broad educational experience.
Athletic Tradition
Since 1960, Bishop’s athletic tradition has been a recognizable presence throughout Southern California. With 191 league titles, 36 CIF titles, and 12 state titles, the students at BMHS have proven an unwavering commitment to athleticism and sportsmanship over the decades. Currently, BMHS offers 19 CIF and one club sport over three seasons. Many teams offer three levels (freshman, JV and varsity) to provide maximum opportunities for participation and to assist in the development of talented and well-rounded student-athletes.
Social Growth
Rounding out the total high school experience are multiple opportunities for social growth. Clubs like Robotics and Speech & Debate provide interest-based learning, while clubs like Concordia and Key Club focus on service and ministry. Through student government, the Bishop Ambassadors program, and National Honor Society, students hone leadership and interpersonal skills. The BMHS Knight Band and Drama Lab provide music, theatre, and performance opportunities for students of all grade levels.
