Minutes of the July 21, 2018 Business Meeting of the BMW Riders of Western Colorado, Inc. In the absence of most of the officers and the Secretary, we are fortunate that Terry Toner took notes. The meeting was called to order at 9:05. There were eleven members in attendance. The meeting table had been "tagged" by Steamboat Springs member Rob Wilmoth, no doubt on his way to the Paonia Rally. Sorry we missed you Rob. See the “tag” Rob left below. Gary had emailed treasurers report. No significant changes in funds. Insurance certificate received and forwarded to Delta County. Without Gary and Jeff, institutional memory was weak on plans for Rally food. Pretty sure we had decided on pulled pork and brisket (potato salad?). Monte and Brad will select fine goodies for Sunday continental breakfast. As best we recall, Dana had volunteered oven in his home to keep meat warm. We couldn't remember the name of new member with home in Hotchkiss who had also volunteered an oven. May check on availability of ovens in Fellowship hall. Perhaps previous prohibition on use can be lifted given our sterling history at venue. Mary/Paul volunteered to do Chili for Friday and beans for Sat. Hurray! There was some confusion on last social ride. Email went out late in the game moving time forward an hour to avoid riding home in the dark. Those who showed at new time decided to just go to Mesa. Paul and Mary missed the email, but had a fine time at Vega. Meeting was adjourned at 9:40. Several members assembled in parking lot to plot a post meeting ride. Rally: The menu is now set with Paul and Mary making chili for Friday night. Christina and Jeff will do the Saturday night meal with a choice of pork or brisket sandwiches and potato salad, baked beans by Paul and Mary will complete the meal. We have confirmed with Les that we will be able to use the ovens in Heritage Hall to heat the pork and brisket. Jeff received the insurance Release and Waiver forms that every attendee needs to sign at registration. Jeff realized that he had not submitted a rally advertisement for the Owners News. The ad will appear in the September issue which may still be ok. We currently have twelve people signed up for the rally, nine are from out of town. The club needs movies to show at the rally. Traci Stapleton from Grand Junction BMW asked for an updated rally brochure. Jeff will update last year’s brochure and confirm that there are only BMW’s in the pictures. September 21-23, 2018 CO 15th Thunder Mountain Rendezvous BMW Riders of Western Colorado MOA #270 Come join us at the Delta County Fairgrounds in downtown Hotchkiss on Color weekend on the Western Slope of Colorado. Our rally offers great camaraderie, a beautiful venue, and the greatest riding in Colorado. It also helps us raise money to support motorcycle safety and the local Booster Club. Our low elevation venue includes a large meeting hall, restrooms with showers, plenty of grassy camping and the convenience of walking to downtown restaurants, stores and motels. Your rally fee of $40 before (Aug 15),$50 at the gate, gets you dinner Friday and Saturday nights, H.S. Booster Club fundraiser pancake breakfast available Sat AM, continental breakfast Sunday morning, camping, free coffee and tea, door prizes, ride presentations and movies both Friday and Saturday nights inside Heritage Hall.
