2018 CONSIGNORS Devon Baucom ..................................................... Lots 7-11

The Baucom Farm started in 1955 with a herd of Herefords. By the early 1960’s the first Charolais bull was brought to the farm. Eventually the farm changed to a full Charolais operation by the 1970s. Quality genetics and registered herd sires have been part of this operation for multiple generations.

C-Cross Cattle .......................................................... Lot 101

C-Cross Cattle Company is owned and operated by Duane and Wendy Strider in Biscoe, North Carolina. They were married in 1987 and are both natives of Randolph County, North Carolina. They have three children, Shelton, Emily and Evelyn. Duane worked 30 years of his life in live production poultry management, working for different integrated poultry companies. They also raised poultry on their family farm from 1980 to 2013. Duane and his dad maintained a commercial cow/calf operation dating back to the early 1970’s. Duane aggressively began producing seedstock in 2004, which was his lifelong dream. C-Cross Cattle produces high-quality Gelbvieh, Balancer, and Angus seedstock. They also market private treaty bulls and females year-round along with hosting an Annual Bull & Female Sale the second Saturday in November at the Biscoe ranch.

Double M Farm ....................................................... Lots 1-5

Double M Farm was established in 2006 in Unionville NC with 3 commercial cows, a young bull, and 5 acres in pasture. This soon became a passion, thus more cows and pasture. We continued with a handful of commercial cows until 2011. Knowing that we didn’t have unlimited acreage to work with, we made the decision to improve the herd and raise the best cattle possible. At this point we became BQA certified and also made the decision to explore the registered cattle market. Figuring that if we were going to improve our cattle we might as well have more of them, so then came 25 more acres of pasture and the quest for knowledge of cattle. With much research and attending sale after sale and buying what we felt were the best genetics we could for a good foundation herd, we felt it was time for the next step. In 2012 we began an Artificial Insimination program as well as utilizing Embryo Transfer to improve our quality in a shorter period and allowing us to raise the best replacement females and bulls possible. Our herd is made of registered Angus, registered Simmental, and commercial cattle. Today we maintain 32 mama cows and 50 acres of grass.

Dry Fork Creek Farms ......................................... Lots 21-26

Dry Fork Creek Farms established our brand in 1995. Since then we have been blessed to develop a farm that focuses on producing quality replacement females for your herd as well as exceptional quality locally grown beef for our customers. Our passion with the Santa Gertrudis, Simmental, and Hereford breeds have helped develop our base herd where maternal instincts, outstanding docility, marbling, tenderness, and the hybrid vigor of the cattle create an exceptional quality beef!

Gordon Brothers Farm ........................................ Lots 27-32 Gordon Brothers Farm’s operation began back in the 1980’s when the brothers purchased their first purebred Angus. Currently we have approximately 150 head of the best Angus genetics available today. We have utilized embryo transfers and 100% AI in building our herd to have the best breeding program possible in the Angus breed. We select proven sires for low birth weight along with growth and carcass EPD’s. Using AI and ET to increase the size of our animal and to achieve outstanding quality and growth will only continue to enhance the value of our Angus herd. -4-

2018 CONSIGNORS David A. Hill Farms ............................. Lots 71-88, 102-103

Commercial cow-calf operation started in 2002 focused primarily on raising black baldie calves. Both Hereford & Angus bulls are used in the breeding program. Angus sires used are from the Yon, Black Crest & Shankle herds. Hereford sires are from Debter, Meyers & Innisfail herds. Registered Hereford females are exclusively from the Innisfail operation. Simply put females are the future of any operation - breed a black baldie cow to the bull of your choosing...you will like your results.

Propst Farm ........................................................ Lots 12-20 Propst Farms is a three-generation family farm. The property was acquired in the 1940’s and has produced poultry and beef over the years. We are striving to breed the best Angus, Simmental, and SimAngus cattle we can produce that not only benefit us but will be profitable for our customers. We are located 4 miles from Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC - visitors are always welcome! Owner: Jimmy Propst • Manager: Zach Moffitt • 336-736-6340

Rhyneland Farms .............................. Lots 6, 69-70, 99-100

Rhyneland Farms is a 4th generation Hereford farm. It is family owned and operated. Granddaughters Alexis and Courtney Eudy show herefords competitively at both a state and national level. Recently, Rhyneland has started more heavily utilizing embryo transfer to produce more superior genetics from some of their top cows. Rhyneland Farms strives to produce cattle that will work at both a purebred and commercial level!

Staton Farms ...................................................... Lots 33-52 Staton Farms has been operating for over 60 years. With our first cows being in the 1950s, we have been dedicated to producing quality cattle for almost 4 generations. Our operation is primarily Angus with a small cross of Gelbvieh. We take pride in our calving ease; milk & maternal instincts; and great market value. Our pasture rotations, 90 day breeding program, fresh water systems, and health management are sure to produce commercial cattle of top quality.

Steele Hill Farms .................................... Lots 55-64, 89-98

Steele Hill Farms is located on Griffith Road in Monroe, North Carolina. What was once a large dairy in the 1930’s called the Oscar Broom Dairy got converted to beed cattle in the late 1950’s by my grandfather. Being the fifth generation on the farm, I decided to keep up the family tradition and continue to raise beef cattle. I primarily run Angus/Hereford cross and supply my cattle with the best water, minerals, grass, feed, and hay. All of my calves are creep fed along with good milk from the mother while being raised. We have always taken pride in raising cattle here at Steele Hill Farms.

Tyson Farms .............................................. Lots 53-54, 65-68 The Tyson family farm started in 1994 with 11 registered black Angus cattle and has grown to about 110 cow/calf pairs. Registered herd bulls from local producers have always been key on the operation.
