4.5.25 - Spring Turn Out Sale

Page 1

Saturday, April 5, 2025 • 1:00 pm

Welcome back to our fifth sale in Oxford! We are extremely pleased to once again join with friends and customers to bring you this set of cattle. We believe that sound structure, actual performance, and pleasing phenotype are the key to productive cattle with longevity that will help add dollars to your program for years.

Our bulls are developed on pasture supplemented by high roughage feed so that they do not fall apart when they are turned out on pasture. The bulls in the offering have passed a BSE, have been tested PI-BVD negative, vaccinated with Vira Shield VL5 HB Somnus and Vision 7 with spur, and poured with Eprinex within the last 30 days. Genomics have been sent in on the Gelbvieh and Angus bulls and should be available sale day. These bulls have survived 3 rounds of culling: at weaning, at yearling, and at picturing. Cows offered in the sale have tested PI-BVD negative, been vaccinated with the same vaccines, and poured with Cydectin within the last 30 days. We are a certified and accredited herd so all cattle over 2 have been tested negative for TB and brucellosis.

Green Hills is a family operation and we have been involved in cattle breeding for over 30 years. As many of you know, our 3 sons are actively involved in our program, so we feel our program has many productive years ahead. We look forward to working with old friends and customers and making new ones on April 5th.

See you in the barn,

Walter, Lee, Garrett, Justin, and Austin Teeter

Welcome to the fifth Green Hills Gelbvieh & HOPE Cattle Spring Turn Out Bull & Female Sale. It is a privilege to once again be working with the Teeters to bring you this sale offering. We want to say thank you for taking your time to review the bulls and females that are available in the sale offering.

We strive to produce real world cattle that will work for all types of cattlemen. We feel that bulls should not only have good numbers, but just as important, they need to have sound feet and legs along with phenotype to go out and perform. Not only do we feel that they must have a good foundation to stand and travel and the phenotype that we desire, but we also pick and cull for disposition. Most of the cattle work is all done by Cortney and me ourselves, so we feel that that it is extremely important and beneficial to have easy handling cattle. These cattle are not pampered, as they run and calve on grass pastures until weaning. Once weaned, they are sorted and run out on pastures being supplemented with a high roughage feed to allow for them to grow and express their genetic potential without being detrimental to the longevity of a breeding bull. All bulls have been evaluated and passed screening/culling to guarantee that we are bringing you high quality bulls that will work.

Thanks again for looking at this sale offering. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Sincerely,

Karl & Cortney Holshouser

GREEN HILLS COMMERCIAL FEMALE OFFERINGS

This year’s Green Hill female offering will once again include some of our top bred heifers and young bred cows. Most of these females are either Gelbvieh-influenced or commercial Angus from Green Hills genetics. These are all heifers and cows we would be happy to keep in our own herd, but we have too many cows as it is and are committed to bringing you our best each year. Low input, problem free kind of females that have been developed on grass and hay. We will have detailed information on the cattle and breeding information available sale day but please contact any of the Green Hills crew if you have any questions prior to the sale.

LOTS 51-56 • 10 BRED HEIFERS

Balancer and Angus sired bred heifers due to calve to calving-ease Balancer bulls.

LOTS 57-66 • 10 FALL BRED COWS

Gelbvieh-influenced and commercial Angus cows bred to Green Hills herd sires due to calve September-November 2025. These cows are only 4-6 years old and have proven themselves in production raising top end replacements and heavy feeder calves.

LOTS 67-69 • Fall Bred Heifers offered by Hope Cattle Services

Fall bred commercial Angus heifers due in the fall of 2025 to the calving ease Gelbvieh bull GHGF Trump Train C521 for commercial Balancer calves.

LOTS 70-74 • Fall Bred Heifers offered by Fox Fire Farms

Fall bred Angus and SimAngus-based heifers who are due to calve this fall to calving ease Angus or Balancer bulls.

LOTS 75-83 • Spring Bred Cows offered by Fox Fire Farms

Angus and SimAngus-based heavy bred cows that are due around sale time or will be pairs by sale day. They are bred to high growth Balancer and Angus bulls. There are 4 head that are coming 3 year olds and 5 head that are 5 year olds.

LOTS 84-85 • Spring Pairs offered by Bill Lewis

2 spring pairs that are middle aged commercial Angus cows with Charolais sired heifer calves at side. Heifer calves at side are out of a WC Redemption x CRG Ms Canada 15D son who was one of the top selling bulls in the sale 3 years ago and has done a tremendous job siring high growth heavy muscled calves with added fleshing ability for smoky cattle. Calves were born on 2/25/25.

LOTS 86-95 • Spring Bred Heifers offered by Timmy Mills

10 spring bred heifers and spring pairs. These heavily Angus based heifers are sired by Leachman and Green Hills bulls. Most will have calves at side by sale day or be heavy bred. They are bred to a 5/8 SM 3/8 AN black baldy SimAngus bull from Green Hills (GHC COPACETIC K48).
