The Solider Sent off to war and didn't know why He held his friends in his arms as they looked up at him and died He saw all the world’s worst pain and all the world’s worst injustice And believed the people he would otherwise never have trusted He saw people killed and destroyed Left to rot like disused toys He saw young men driven to be insane He though for little victories again and again He'd been faced with death countless times in the middle of the night Almost blown up when he thought he was safe and things were all right He was scared by the sight innocent people that would never be free But luckily he's got brain damage and lost his memory
