Everything outdoor is a playground!
Since 1961, we have been designing outdoor spaces for play, sport, meeting and exercise. We are very proud of this! A play- and/or exercise area is more than merely a collection of equipment. It is a place that should be attractive and stimulating for different types of play. And sometimes, next to children, also suitable for other age groups such as young people, adults and the elderly.
All children are unique and have their own way of playing; from endless racing around to quiet play in a corner. A well-equipped playground caters to the needs of all children without crowding. A good playground encourages children to play in their own way and must continue to challenge them to keep playing.
Each outdoor space is tailor-made The playground around the corner, an exercise garden for seniors, a schoolyard for learning or a distinctive recreation area... each outdoor space is tailor-made. The outdoor space should be attractive and correspond to the needs of the target age groups with regard to play, sports, meetings and passing time. The outdoor space should make you feel at home and above all: the outdoor space should challenge you to move around and have fun!

“In a well-equipped playground, each child can play their own game.” Each location has its own possibilities, and each user has their own wishes and needs. Therefore, we look through the eyes of the end users when designing the outdoor space. We are happy to help you determine the possibilities and coordinate the wishes and needs. We design each outdoor space with a clear vision, a structured approach and with premium quality products.
The 4 types of players In order to create a stimulating play area, we distinguish 4 types of players: energizers, structure seekers, builders and observers. Each with their own way of playing and each with their own needs for a playground. All 4 types are based on the DISC behaviour self-assessment tool created by Walter Clarke. The DISC model explains four personality types as variations between people’s sense of self and their interaction with their environment.

Did you know that: A well-designed playground gives children the opportunity to play, move about and do whatever is necessary for their development in their own way?
IMAGINATIVE PLAY Children are naturally curious and eager to learn. They want to understand everything and be able to explain everything. Fantasy play is an important key here. Imaginative play helps a child understand how the self, “the other” and the world all work. With imaginative play, children learn what is real and what is not. This is an important step towards “real learning” and getting a grip on life. Through roleplay, imitating adults, or acting out situations, they learn to deal with life events. Within the safe limits of imaginative play, children learn: • about themselves, their feelings and handling (serious) life events • about feelings and emotions of others and how to deal with them • putting themselves in someone else’s shoes • communicative skills, thus stimulating language development • planning, negotiation, the division of roles and conflict management

Figura Play Playing with Figura Play stimulates the imagination of children. The large assortment of colourful, playful and thematized play equipment helps children tell their own stories. We believe that every child, in their own possibilities and interests, should be able to enjoy an imaginative playground with the Figura Play line. • Diverse play incentives Figura Play offers a good balance between the elements of fine motor development, roleplay and physical challenges. Enjoy rock climbing, play puppet shows and experiment with one of the many minigames. The versatility offers various possibilities and meets the different needs of children. • Good accessibility Aside from difficult climbing routes, platforms can also be reached with lowslope stairs, which themselves incorporate fun mini-games. • Play value at any height Figura Play offers play possibilities at all heights (0.6m, 1.0m and 1.5m), but there is also a lot to do on the ground floor level. This way there is something for everyone to discover and there can be a lot of cooperation. Even if you do not want to, or cannot climb up.

Playing together with adults
The Playhouses et Playcastles of Figura Play have a modular structure. As a result, the programme offers numberous options to combine. In this brochure we show you a wide selection from our range. The complete line however, is available on our website.
Playing with friends is fun and very educational for children. But playing with other generations is important too. Having fun with your children, discovering things together, making up stories, thus creating precious memories.
The playful and colourful panels of Figura Play are made of 19mm thick HMPE plates. The poles are available in four different base materials: black coated aluminum and black recycled plastic as standard, or FSC® certified hardwood and stainless steel as options. The ropes and nets are made of 16mm thick vandal-proof Hercules rope with a steel core. As for slides, a choice can be made between fibreglass reinforced polyester (standard in orange; other RAL colours optional) or stainless steel. This way you can integrate Figura Play within the existing equipment on the playground and / or adapt the product to your own taste.

Playground surfaces Falling is part of the game. Naturally, to prevent is better than to cure. In case one falls anyway, it is important that the surface prevents unnecessary injuries. Within the EU, safety surfaces beneath Playground equipment must comply with EN 1177 regulations.
BOERplay equipment is designed in such a way that a grass surface often suffices. In addition, there are many other safety surfaces one could use as impact absorbing ground material, such as (coloured) artificial turf or rubber cast floors with playful motifs. This is also reflected in our playground equipment, both in the choice of materials and in the details. Together with well over 100 colleagues, we manufacture playground equipment based on our mission to make outdoor play and sports attractive. With our playground equipment we contribute to the development of children. The way we manufacture our equipment is just as important for their future. We are therefore constantly working to reduce our carbon footprint. Our ultimate goal is a circular economy in which the use of new raw materials is kept to a minimum, materials and parts are reused or recycled and residual waste virtually no longer exists. In the following ways, we try to make our business operations as sustainable as possible: 50
Take-back, recycling and reuse of products • Applying sustainable and circular materials. We design and develop our products ourselves. In doing so, we opt for the use of sustainable, premium quality and circular materials. We also conduct research into possible new materials, such as Green Matter, which is recycled plastic from recycled artificial turf. •
We use a variety of materials in our designs, such as metal, aluminum, stainless steel, FSC® certified wood (Scandinavian pine, tropical and European hardwood) and recycled plastics. During the design phase we already take into account the possibilities for waste separation, recycling and reuse, whilst reducing (residual) waste.

We are developing ourselves into a partner that offers the role of play, where we retain
ownership of the raw materials. Play-asa-service so to speak; instead of selling the physical product, we sell fun, creating challenging and sustainable playgrounds that can still be saved at the end of their life cycle. •
Reducing (residual) waste. We produce to order. This creates high involvement in the organization. As we produce to order, we hold a minimum of stock. Our costs of nonquality (rejection and return) have thtough this fallen to practically zero.
Manufacturing and employment in the Netherlands; use of local suppliers We are proud of the fact that we produce and assemble our playground equipment, exercise equipment and outdoor furniture at our own production facility in the south of the Netherlands. We source our base materials as much as possible from local suppliers (EU only, thus helping us to reduce our carbon footprint.
Reducing life cycle cost Our equipment is suitable for public spaces, having a minimum lifespan of 15 years and corresponding warranty. We believe that our equipment should require little to no maintenance once installed. We already take this into account in the design phase. Our equipment is characterized by low maintenance costs (<2% per year). In the unlikely event that something needs to be repaired, our equipment is designed in such a way that this can be carried out in an easy and safe manner.
