WELCOME TO OUR 13TH ANNUAL BULL SALE

Family • Passion • Farming

What an amazing time to be in the cattle industry!! Its easy to think that it can’t last but all signs are saying this fall could be better yet! Around this farm things seem continue to grow. The cowherd is ever evolving but one thing that stays the same is the focus on building cow families andstrengthening the herd by building on them. You will find many comments made through out theoffering on the connections one bull will have to another. To strengthen these cow families further we try to source the best genetics we can whether it be through AI or walking herd bulls.

All the yearling bulls have been fed together since the end of August. The bulls are eating a TMR diet. All the ingredients are tested and balanced to allow the animal to show their natural growing abilities without harming their long-term development. We do not push the feed to our animals and pride ourselves on the fact that many customers express how their bulls actually gain weight or maintain their condition throughout breeding season.

For those of you who are new to our program, Family and Farming is our life. There are no outside jobs and our focus in solely on agriculture. We pride ourselves on raising high quality cattle that go out and work. At the end of the day, we want our cattle to work for you!! On the family side we are family ran with Mom and Dad still being a huge part of everyday operations.

Michelle and John have four children that are a huge help around the farm and when they aren’t able to be out with us we definitely notice their absence. Kyler turned 18 and is finishing his final year of High School!! Easton and Austin stay busy playing ball and hockey. Kaidynce still likes horses……..

If you have a minute, we invite you to give John a call and let him help you find the bull that will suit your needs. We feel there are a variety of different bulls and are more than happy to help make sure you find the one you are looking for. We know that sale day is busy for you and that there can be schedule conflicts.

If for some reason or another you are unable to join us sale day, we highly encourage you to come out to the farm and view the bull pens at your convenience. If you are unable to be present on sale day and are wanting to participate, we encourage you to phone us or take advantage of the trusted and professional staff of Transcon Livestock or Bohrson Marketing.

Although we find ourselves extremely busy we feel fortunate to be able to do what we do. Like always we find ourselves needing to stop to say Thank You! Whether it is bidding, buying, offering a helping hand, giving knowledgeable advice, taking the time for a tour and visit or allowing us to farm your land. Without your support we wouldn’t be able to continue doing what we love.

We look forward to visiting, John, Michelle, Kyler, Easton, Austin and Kaidynce Beechinor

Welcome from the Transcon Team......

Heck ya, it’s a great family-oriented driven operation and hosted by families that have generations working on the farm, and a lot of you can relate to that! But if you’re just starting out, you have an opportunity here too, you can better your program by buying a Beechinor bull! If it wasn’t a conflict of interest, we’d do it too!

It’s an event combined with the progress of commerce in agriculture and how families work together. Take the kids out of school for the day and let them learn real world “ag-nomics”! “Agriculture” being their (the Beechinors’) sole livelihood here with the Beechinor Families, and sale day is only one example, watch their tutelage. I remember a very good cattleman, whom I respected a lot, told me, “bull buying is part of your business”. I was fortunate enough to buy bulls on his behalf, in his absence, many times, when he couldn’t attend himself, but always admired his assertiveness. Moving on, when I refer to “family”, this is an operation that is VERY MIUCH SO, who diversifies and grows their farming love of “ag”. So, on behalf of the Beechinor Families, we invite you to their annual bull sale.

Their sale has been successful, no doubt, but for many of the following reasons:

Volume discounts to multiple buyers of bulls.

Volume of bulls in high quality that have been screened from “hoof to horn” on a regular basis. For example, I viewed the bulls in January, not to mention Glenn and Cody while on pasture tours earlier in the year, and both John and Stefon pointed out bulls that will NOT be in the sale, for various reasons, as not to sell “inadequate” bulls to the public. The scrutiny is constant.

Large sire groups, with many different specialties and attributes. Have you heard of “Rumble”?

Cow families, and more-so, with specific matrons of each, involved as the dams of these bulls to compliment the sire groups. To expand, several of the bulls selling are out of VERY proven foundational cows that extend from heritage families.

Docility!!! My goodness, how do they accomplish the gentle, easy going way on this many bulls? It’s very easy to peruse the large, outlier bull pens, with the full cooperation of the candidates, to view them in a very undisturbed way! They really act as if you aren’t even there!

Black to White, and all in between, there’s an assortment of quality in all aspects for your herd to one-stopshop. All of the claimed regulars like calving ease, to maternal, and pure performance but also the ageadvantaged bulls are included.

And the HAIR! We live North of the 49th, this is an economic attribute.

Probably the best pre-sale meal you will enjoy all season. One tip, SHOW UP EARLY!

Customer service at its best! The responsible development of sound, correct, good haired (also a sign of responsibility developing them), bulls that you will appreciate your investment in will pay forward.

If you can’t make it to the sale, but hope you can, don’t hesitate to call on myself or my professionally trusted sales staff to handle your bidding needs. Our exclusive, online bidding/buying service is also available sale day to the Beechinors’ Bull Sale, but please call ahead.

On behalf of the Beechinor Families,

Transcon

Welcome from Bohrson Marketing

On behalf of all the Beechinors and our Bohrson Marketing team I’d like to welcome you to this year ’s Bull Sale.

The Beechinors have become great friends for over a decade now. They are an extremely hard working bunch, a great example of this is by personally delivering bulls across Western Canada, that could possibly be 140 different farms!! I know of one farmer in another province that was stunned by this. This farmer had bought many bulls from another producer who lived less than an hour away and had never set foot in his yard! If someone is willing to deliver bulls two provinces over...tells me customer satisfaction is extremely high on the Beechinors list. When I say Great people, I mean it!

Rumble is a bull that may make the biggest impact on the Beechinor’s program yet, and that a huge statement as they’ve had some rockstar bulls for sure. The consistency in his calf crop on a wide variety of cows is unbelievable to say the least. With his daughters now calving its plain to see they are going to be bringing some bulls to the sale as well.

There is a wide selection of sires in their bull battery and AI tank that they can choose from. Two of the bulls that are rising to the top are Red Wolf and his son Alpha. These bulls start off small and grow and grow and grow some more. I cant believe the job these two have done. The term curve bender describes them well. Take a good look at their sons...I’m going to say it now, they will have a lasting mark on the Simmental breed.

John and his family surprised a few people with jumping into the Charolais game. They surprised even more people with the quality of bulls their very first calf crop. A good friend and excellent cattlemen set up a meeting with the Weston, Thurston and Beechinor families to source their new herd of char cows. I believe it was a great move by them to give their buyers another great option to buy from.

Not only will there be yearling bulls on offer, the extra age bulls are always a hit with commercial and purebred breeders alike. Thank you to John, Stefon and their families for including Bohrson Marketing and trusting us to continue to help with the bull sale.

Please call any one of our Bohrson Marketing Team to help answer any questions or bid on your behalf.

Best Regards,

The Bohrson Marketing Team

Darryl Snider Cody Haney

EPD EXPLANATION EPDs are “Expected Progeny Differences”. They are a useful tool in selection. EPDs incorporate the individual animal with its ancenstry performance. EPDs do not compare across cattle breeds. They are individual based per breed. EPDs indicate a probably variance above or below breed average for that trait for a given bull’s progeny. The accuracy of EPDs for calendar year bull calves is generally about 20% (one out of five times) so use it cautiously as one of several selection tools.

I once had a wise man tell me that when you find the right bull with everything you are looking for there will be no limit on how much you can spend….. boy was he right…. Rumble is a bull that we knew had to find his way into our program the second we saw him. Of course, with a $355,000 price tag it added a bit of stress. Once those first calves started hitting the ground, we knew it was the right decision but there was some relief once we laid eyes on them. Now with two calf crops under his belt and his offspring pushing to the top of both the bull and replacement heifer pens we are thrilled we did what we did! At weaning time many of his sons broke the 900lbs mark. Its early to say but we believe that Rumble could very well have the biggest influence on our herd from this point forward. His sons are impressive to say the least and his daughters have that brood cow look. Over the last two calf crops we have crossed him with several different ‘types’ of cows and he has surprised us by how consistent he was able to make them. These consistent traits include deep swing ribs, hair, meat, red colouring, pigmentation and performance. Now to add to that list is his udder quality of his daughters. With the first daughters calving this January, we are thrilled to report the udder size, udder shape, teat placement and teat size are tremendous and almost identical on every female! Here is your chance to own a piece of a very bright future!

• Not only is he very similar to his fullblood brothers in that he is easy doing, soft made, big topped, chromed up with an awesome hip, but he is a son of the amazing 226A

• 226A is the dam of Skors High Roller! A bull we as well as several other top breeders have used very successfully through out the past several years

• She is also a big barrelled, long spined cow with strong feet and good udder

• She had a very good son that sold very well in our 2021 sale going to Murray Jacobson and another top end son in our 2023 sale going to Skyline Simmentals

• A bull we feel is very special!! Check out the Rumble write up at the start of the Fullblood section for some info on his daddy!!

• Actual August 23rd weaning weight – 904lbs. Homo Polled and Dilutor Free

• She could eat five-year-old straw and still be in top condition

• Continuously brings in a top end calf year after year raising some of our feature bulls for the last four years running

• She had one heifer calf that sold to Rainy Creek Farms, her last five have been bulls…These 5 bulls average 84lbs at birth (low of 81lbs high of 89lbs) and the four that have been weaned average an actual weaning weight of 955lbs!!!

• Lazer’s actual weaning weight on August 23rd- 930lbs!

• Beechinor Bros Simmentals would be interested in retaining 50 straws of semen with buyers’ permission. Homo Polled and Dilutor Free

We run a fall calving group to help stretch out our workload as well as allowing buyers the option to purchase a bull with a little more maturity if they so choose. The fall bulls are managed separately and Jan/Feb born bulls winter at Beechinor Bros. We like to focus on building our herd through functional proven cow families and you will see an emphasis on that throughout our offering’s footnotes. We match these cows with what we think are some of the best sires available whether they be through the use of AI or walking herd bulls. We would like to thank John for the opportunity to join them once again and our sales management representatives with Transcon and Bohrson. If you have any questions about our program or bulls feel free to reach out to Stefon or any of the management team members. We invite you to walk through the bull pens anytime prior to sale day and look forward to seeing you.

• We’ll start off the red section with a pair of fall born flushmates off the popular Walk The Line and our cornerstone red donor Skor Red Fortune 176Y.

• Dam 176Y has an exemplary production record with the proven ability to consistently raise top end progeny for both the seedstock and commercial industries.

• She has produced 5 sons that have sold in excess of $30000 and at 14 years of age, she shows little signs of slowing down and continues to impress with her fertility and soundness.

• Both these bulls show a blend of calving ease with low BW and good growth characteristics shown in both EPD profile and in the flesh.

• Smooth build, length, muscle definition and overall balance.

• Flushmate sisters were favourites among many of the visitors that toured during World Congress.
