WELCOME WELCOME from from

Welcome to the Second Bi-annual Jaymarandy Livestock Finest Female Production Sale. We are proud to offer an exclusive selection, including a flush opportunity, embryos, bred yearlings, prospect heifer calves, and an elite herd bull. Though small, this offering represents the finest of Jaymarandy, heavily influenced by the Grace cows. Our program is built on dedication, focusing on quality and relevance, not trends.

While we have utilized outside genetics, after 10 years in the Angus breed, we now proudly offer a few pedigrees deeply rooted in Jaymarandy breeding. This year, we introduce a halfblood Simmental heifer calf and offer almost our entire show string, including a herd bull prospect I’m particularly proud of.

Breeding top-quality cattle has been my lifelong passion, and after 40 years, it’s as fulfilling as ever. Our children are becoming increasingly involved in the farm, with Owen, Finnley, Isla, and Corban contributing in their own ways. We are grateful for their enthusiasm and for the blessings of family and a thriving farm.

Respectfully,

Mark Angus & Family

Welcome to the 2024 Finest Female Production Sale. The Jaymarandy name has been relevant in the purebred livestock industry for decades. Their strides made now in the Angus breed have been huge and it’s because of their select criteria to breed and build around that have got their program to where it is. They put a lot of emphasis on the Angus cow and when you tour through the herd at Jaymarandy, it is very evident. Cattle with breed character, maternal qualities, with big time udders, strong feet and overall do ability. The core cow families that have been used to establish the Jaymarandy Angus cowherd will be well represented in the Finest Female Sale via fancy open heifer calves, bred for production yearling females, exciting flush and frozen opportunities as well as a promising young herd sire. Be sure to contact Mark Angus and visit with him about his program and this high quality offering he has assembled. He is a passionate livestock enthusiast and would love to just talk cows with you. If any of us at BMS can be of any assistance, please don’t hesitate to contact us and have us help in your next purchases. We look forward to chatting with you about the Finest Female Production Sale.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN A FARMGATE TIMED AUCTION

After you are at the FarmGate Timed auction site click the LOGIN/ REGISTRATION button.

FIRST TIME FARMGGATE USERS: First time users will select the REGISTER button from this page. Fill out the registration form to signup for a free user account and it allows you to select a username and password for use on all Farm Gate Timed auctions. (please note due to some of the text notification features the FarmGate Time Auction Site requires a new account separate account from your DLMS Live sale site)

- After you create your FarmGate account you will receive a txt message with a pin code to verify your account.

- On your first log in to FarmGate Timed auctions we recommend you go to your profile and confirm your notifications are set to YES. This allows the site to send you text and/or email notifications when you are out bid and if there is activity on your favorite lots.

RETURNING FARMGGATE USERS: If you have used Farm Gate Timed auctions in the past simply enter your user name and password to continue. After you have logged in you are able to browse the timed auctions on DLMS FarmGate Timed Auctions.

HOW TO BID IN A TIMED AUCTION: Now that you are logged in and your account phone number / email is verified you are able to bid on an upcoming sale. Simply find the lot you are interested in bidding on. After you have found the lot there are 2 options for bidding on the lot.

PLACE NEXT BID – to place the next bid on the item, you see the amount in the first box, you simply click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed.

MAX BID AMOUNT – to place a max bid you put your max bid in the second box listed as “Max Bid” on the item, and then click the “Place Bid” button and after you review the bid and agree to the terms and conditions your bid will be placed as the next bid. With the Max Bid placed the computer will then keep you as the high bidder to the max amount you have placed. This can be a great feature if you are not able to give 100% attention to the sale close out and protect your interest so you do not miss out on any lots you want to purchase. The Max Bid amount is completely confidential from the seller during the sale process.

EXAMPLE OF HOW THE MAX BID WORKS - If the lot has a $2000 bid on it and you place a proxy bid of $3500 into the system, the computer will

bid $2100 for you but if some one else bids $2200, the computer will again bid for you, this time at $2300. The system will look after your interest to a maximum of $3500. If another bidder is on at $3600, your proxy will no longer be effective and you will no longer have the winning bid on this lot without once again logging in and bidding again or moving your attention to a second lot of interest. Please note that in some cases a lot value can change very quickly if 2 max bids are placed on the same lot competing against each other.

WATCH LIST FEATURE: If you have items in multiple auctions or only a few from the same auction that you want to watch with out having to scroll through the entire list you can add the lots to your watchlist. On each lot you will see the “eye” button beside the bid button, by clicking this “watchlist” Icon that item is added to your personal watchlist for easy viewing of just your favorite lots in this sale or on the entire site.

SALE ENDING / CLOSEOUT: Most FarmGate Timed Auction sales close racehorse style with extended bidding.

WHAT IS RACEHORSE STYLE CLOSE? Racehorse style sale close is when the entire sale stays open in extended bidding. This type of sale allows you as the bidder to change to a different lot within the same sale if the bidding has gone in to extended bidding.

HOW WILL EXTENDED BIDDING WORKS? When we get to the close out end time the clock for close extends with any bid placed with less than 5 min on the clock. This type of extended bidding turns the end time to more of a soft time. Extended bidding allows bidders to compete in lots like a real auction and give all bidders the same time to make a decision. Always follow the clock to see how much time remains in the sale you are interested in.

BIDDING CLOSE & FOLLOW-UP: After the clock has gone to “ENDED” and no bidding has occurred for 5 min the computer will declare the sale finished. Following the close typically within 24 hours of the sale close the sale consignor will contact all winning bidders to arrange payment, transfer of pedigrees and delivery/Pick up of your lot. Or as the winning bidding you can contact the sale consignor / sale manager to confirm payment instructions.

- Please make sure that your account info is up-to-date and correct if you are the winning bidder of a lot as this is how the billing is sent to Sale manager and/or Sale consignor.

One of only two Brooking Revival calves born in Canada, this heifer holds immense potential. In my opinion, if there’s one calf that could surpass her dam in the show ring, it’s this one. Grace 414M embodies 120% of what her mother was at the same age—possessing all the phenotype and presence, but in a larger frame. She is elite in every sense and represents an exceptional opportunity to advance a program quickly, as the second and third generation production of Young Dale Grace 169B progeny has been outstanding. At Jaymarandy Livestock, we place great emphasis on cow families, and Grace 414M is poised to carry on the Grace legacy. We frequently utilize grandsons and great-grand offspring of 169B, and her daughters and granddaughters are producing bulls that we are reintegrating into the program, ensuring we retain their highly maternal traits. Her pedigree is a testament to our commitment to excellence, featuring the great Schaff Angus Valley donor SAV Madam Pride 0151, along with industry legends like 0075, 4136, Sooline Rose 1019, EA Rose 918, and TLA Beauty. Her sire, Brooking Revival 0074, intrigued us since leading the Brooking Angus Ranch sale and being purchased by Montana Ranch. After seeing him in video, we chose him for a flush on Grace 169B, confident in the quality he would bring. This heifer is worth the trip to Beausejour and will be a highlight of our show string.

The achievements of Young Dale Grace 169B are well known. When the opportunity arose to incorporate the $95,000 LT Chiefton 1440—and more importantly, his dam, LT Forever Lady 7038—into our program, we didn’t hesitate. The right to flush 7038 sold for $30,000 at the Foundation Sale in Denver last year, with half interest in the cow going privately to Montana Ranch. My partners on Grace were rewarded with 22 embryos from their flush, and I decided to try my hand with these elite genetics as well. Fortunately, I received 28 embryos. We have already implanted a few this spring and plan to implant more in the fall of 2025. For a program of our size, 25 embryos is a significant number, so we are offering some for auction. This is an exciting opportunity to access elite genetics that are in limited supply north of the border. Don’t miss the chance to get in on the ground floor of these exceptional bloodlines. YOUNG DALE GRACE 169B

In line with our Finest Female theme, this offering traces back to the renowned Grace 169B cow. Originally intended to be sold as a choice with Lot One, this fall heifer presents a significant risk for us to part with. We’ve already sold every daughter from Grace 640D, both naturally and through ET, and given her track record of producing primarily males, offering this heifer is a difficult decision, especially with so few remaining embryos. At 8 years old, Grace 640D remains in excellent health and will soon return to the donor pen. Grace 343L is every bit as impressive as she looks in her photo—strong-topped, structurally correct, beautifully profiled, with excellent hair and a dense frame. This cross with BCC Tahoe’s dam locks in consistent maternal traits, further reinforced by the outstanding production ability of the Tahoe daughters. Although we had limited Tahoe calves due to timing, the early indicators on the bred females are promising, with ideal udder composition, square teat placement, and well-formed bags. Grace 343L is poised to perform exceptionally when she reaches lactation. Given the passing of BCC Tahoe and limited availability of semen, this will be one of the only opportunities to secure a Tahoe daughter in the near future. Grace 640D, alongside Grace 169B, was Reserve Champion Female at Manitoba Ag-Ex and Champion Female in the 2-year-old division at CWA. Grace 640D’s own show career was equally impressive, winning several shows and earning Manitoba Gold Show Reserve Champion Female. This young heifer shares lineage with notable sires like The Lion 125J, Lights and Sirens 911G, True North 904G, and Treasury 9H—bulls widely used in purebred programs. Her maternal sister, our previous high-selling heifer calf, was sold to 4G Angus of Yorkton, Saskatchewan, during our first sale. Grace 343L is also a proud member of our show string.

We are fully committed to offering every heifer calf from our show string for sale. When showcasing our program, it’s important that the cattle we exhibit strongly represent the quality we have at home. In fact, those we bring to shows are often considered the best of the best, which is certainly the case at our operation. Grace 423M has been shown multiple times this summer, both at her dam’s side and on her own. Every time they appeared together as a pair, they were named Champion Two-Year-Old Pair. At the Manitoba Gold Show, they earned Reserve Champion Female honors, second only to the Supreme Champion. Consistency is key for us, and Grace 423M proved it by also winning Champion Heifer Calf in the junior show with Finnley. This heifer is the mirror image of her dam, who herself is a balanced female with an excellent udder and impressive capacity. Her dam has such a strong frame and ample capacity in her abdomen and thorax, ensuring exceptional milk production for her calves. A bonus is her ability to maintain condition. Before and after spring calving, this cow stayed in top condition, thriving on just grass hay and always outperforming the herd in body score. Grace 423M shares these same qualities and boasts the influence of Bar E L Natural Law in her lineage, guaranteeing high maternal value. Natural Law’s ability to sire elite phenotype and next-generation production is undeniable, and his popularity is growing in the U.S. This heifer, a proud member of our show string, represents a unique opportunity to acquire top-tier genetics.

This is the only Simmental heifer calf we had this year, and she stands out for all the right reasons. She’s long-bodied, particularly in her front third, with excellent hair and an exceptional foot structure—exactly what you’d want under a beef cow. Her dam, a fortunate acquisition from the Stewart Cattle Company dispersal, shares these same qualities. The cow consistently passes down her perfect foot structure and ideal udder quality to her daughters. So far, she has produced two females for us, along with an outstanding steer who became the Grand Champion at the Dryden 4-H Show for Sophie Koshel, later selling for over $12,000 as the day’s top-selling steer. The maternal sibling to this heifer performed exceptionally well in her first year of production, breeding back immediately. This heifer is Homo Polled by pedigree, with coat testing for homozygosity to be completed before the sale. She offers a solid combination of proven genetics and excellent production potential.

YOUNG DALE GRACE 169B

316L is an excellent choice to lead off our bred heifers. She carries an early service to Severtson G-Man 288E and is a granddaughter of the renowned Young Dale Grace 169B. Structurally sound from the ground up, 316L’s pedigree is already proving its value. Her lactating maternal sibling boasts an almost perfect udder and raised an outstanding heifer calf this year. The combination of Tahoe and the Grace family genetics has clearly been a successful one. These females are demonstrating ideal udder development, with excellent teat size and placement. We are eagerly anticipating the calving of our Tahoe daughters and are confident in their potential.

Here is another exceptional pair of Tahoe daughters, both bred to Severtson G-Man 288E. In my opinion, having a set of female twins is as valuable as the success of a flush and implant day. Even more so when their pedigree traces back to Young Dale Grace 102Z, a cow that sets the standard for udder quality, foot structure, and production longevity. Every daughter of Grace 102Z remains productive, whether in commercial or purebred programs. The dam of these two females is a former second-place finisher at the Canadian National Angus Show, a massive-bodied 004 granddaughter, and one of our most consistent production cows. As individuals, these twins have shown excellent growth, are larger-framed, and are developing high-quality udders. Both are bred to Severtson G-Man 288E, making them even more desirable. When deciding our offering of bred heifers, it was clear that we either offer both or none, as their value as a pair speaks for itself.

We acquired this young female in dam from the Mark Daines dispersal, feeling very fortunate to secure her dam despite her age. The Tiger King females were an older group, yet they presented with youthful vigor and strong production potential. We hoped for a daughter to establish a new cow family, and, fortunately, that’s exactly what we got. After reviewing the heifer pen, we felt it was important to add something to the sale that would appeal to those looking to incorporate the Lawson Chloe cow into their pedigrees. Truth be told, we also wanted to retain as many females bred to Severtson G-Man as possible. A glance at the early production of his daughters, such as Lots Nine and Ten, demonstrates why. Their quality speaks for itself. This young female offers significant production potential, with a beautiful udder developing and feet that mirror her dam’s excellent structure. While it’s difficult to part with her, our loss will be someone else’s gain, offering a valuable opportunity to enhance any herd.

This is your chance to get in on the maiden voyage of an outstanding female. From early on, this heifer stood out with her extra body, length, and clean front end, all while maintaining superior performance. Her dam was a great find from our neighbors at Drumhaggart, a no-nonsense operation where cattle either work or they go. While they run a late spring calving program, which initially gave me pause, her phenotype convinced me to buy her. When we brought her home, she became a “happy accident.” Initially, we planned to hold her over until fall to fit into our program, but G-Man had other plans and bred her for a late July calf. Now, she stands as one of the best cow prospects I’ve owned in 40 years. Countess 126J is exceptionally well-designed, with an elite udder/ abdominal junction, and perfect width and base. She’s long-sided, large-framed, and exudes fertility, having calved at just 21.5 months. We bred her again in December 2023, planning on collecting a couple of flushes for ourselves, and also plan to integrate her into our winter calving program. This heifer has me excited for the future and is a testament to why I’m so high on G-Man 288E and his offspring. If you want to see how she produces, just look at her son, Lot 10—a powerhouse with a moderate birth weight, thanks to G-Man’s influence.

We focus on breeding quality beef bulls, and Good Medicine is truly a beef bull. He is softly made, with abundant shape, sound design, and impressive mobility, complemented by a large scrotal. From a performance standpoint, he was born unassisted to a first-calf heifer at just 21.5 months old and achieved the highest weaning weight in his calf crop, maintaining strong performance through to his yearling weight. Good Medicine’s sire offers another avenue to incorporate Grace genetics into any program. The Lion, our high-selling bull to Keuber Farms in 2023, was subsequently resold in their dispersal to our friends at Rocking K Ranch, the Koshels, maintaining a respectful 5 figure value each time. We also sold semen on The Lion, and the reports on calf quality have been very positive. We believe Good Medicine is significantly outcrossed to mainstream pedigrees and will remain relevant in beef production. He was shown successfully this summer, and we intend to continue this after the sale. With his high quality, a promising young dam set to lead our program, and a sire who will be heavily utilized in our own program in 2025, I take great pride in producing him. The industry needs more G-Man genetics, and this young bull embodies that commitment.

As many of you know, my father loved to see youth participate in the livestock industry and it filled his heart to see his grandson, Angus, and granddaughter, Jules, participate in it. My father worked tirelessly in order to make agriculture available to his children, grand children and any family member that displayed interest. We began this, with my mother Ruth, in an effort to see his name continue on in effort to make agriculture available to youth. Our way to provide opportunity for kids to grow. What do we do?
