ranches

production sale

sunday october 13 - 1pm

It is with great honour that we welcome you to Cherryville, B.C and our first ever female production sale here at KT Ranches. KT Ranches is located in the Northern Okanagan Valley, 1 hour and ten minutes from the Kelowna Airport. It’s a beautiful part of the world, and we would like to extend our personal invite to spend the weekend with us.

KT Ranches is home to some of the most cherished Bulls and Females in both the Angus and Simmental herd books. Although KT is a youthful operation in years, our dedication to the genetic advancements through embryo transfer, and acquiring the best possible genetics from around the world has accelerated the quality of cattle here at the ranch. We are very fortunate to work with some of the most incredible cattle you can find anywhere, and feel the cowherd is really coming into it’s own, in consistency and quality. We made a dramatic increase in our bull sale offering this year, and want to send a big thank you to Cattlemen from across North America, who showed confidence in us and this cowherd, and allowed us to market 175 bull this past spring.

This sale has been years in the making. We feel the cowherd is getting to a place where we can offer this elite set of females. We are offering the very forefront of our cowherd, and whether you are in the market for Bred Heifers, Heifer Calves, or genetic embryo packages, the sale offering contains opportunities from many of our favourite cow families. The bred heifers are an extraordinary group with many future donors in the mix. We bred these females exactly like the ones we have retained in the herd, including on the Angus side, some of our high selling bulls like Jack Smash, Gravity and Free & Easy. On the Simmy side they all Ai’d to KWA Shamrock and W2 Southside. The heifer calves are some of our freshest genetics, and will be ½ ¾ and full sibs to the bulls that will highlight the bull sale March 12, 2025. Every heifer calf in the sale is halter broke! Big thank you to everyone who helped with that project. Many of these calves will have the chance to be competitive this fall, and next year as junior projects and bred heifers. It would be our privilege to exhibit, for the new owners, a select few of these heifer calves at Farmfair International in Edmonton and at Canadian Western Agribition in Regina. The embryo packages on offer are some of the very best and most exciting we can make. This will be the first opportunity to invest in Black Gold Tangleflags genetics, a bull we are all in on, and can’t wait for his first set of calves to hit the ground. He will be on display sale day. This will also be the first opportunity to invest in UDE New Heights, a big time phenotype bull we purchased Canadian semen rights on in Embryos on Snow.

We would like to thank everyone who has helped get KT Ranches to where it is today. Everyone who has worked on the ranch, at shows, sales, all of our past customers, and everyone who we have acquired genetics and cattle from. We appreciate you all.

We love this group of cattle, we think these are some of the best cattle we have ever raised. We have unwavering confidence in the cattle and genetics on offer and truly believe there will be something for everyone in the offering. We enjoy visiting, hosting and touring people from around the world, through these cattle. We thank you for your interest, if you have any questions, or need any additional information or assistance with anything please give me a call. We look forward to welcoming you to the ranch, and seeing you sale day!

from BMS from KT welcome

Welcome to KT Ranches first female sale. We are excited about this offering! Progressively acquiring leading genetics, we have worked across Canada and the United States to find the best breeders and continually improve our herd. Our herd sires include Coleman Glacier, SVS Betts 808, RF Caliber, Mader Walk the Line, Brooking Emerald, Hummel South America, SAV RIP, SAV Believe, and Rust Forged in Fire.

As important as the sires, we focused on gathering well bred, correct females to fill our “Field of Dreams”. The bull sale success is underpinned by foundational dams such as 1604, 215Z, 404 and many others producing outstanding bulls. Our hope is that this female sale reflects the same outcome. We have put our best foot forward with a few animals not considered for the sale.

It takes a Team

Geoff and Lacey Anderson’s purebred expertise has helped raise the standard and quality of cattle, focusing on growing elite numbers, managing the embryo program, and showing the cattle. Our goal is to improve the herd year over year and believe we have accomplished this. Geoff and Lacey, with the support of family and friends, have shown KT cattle for two seasons with impressive results.

Conner Seehaver is coordination and communications central keeping everyone moving forward in a positive direction. He is backed up by a Cherryville team of Doug Rainkie, Rosie & Roberto, Carson Isaac, Landon and Hayden Prebushewski, Pat Isaac and Kamrie Kaufmann. Stephan and Janita Janse Van Rensburg and their family keep our Enderby Division operating growing corn this year over twelve feet tall. Alex Shobbrook and Joe Hamilton look after Campbell Lake Ranch near Kamloops with all the good natural grazing that our animals love. Our team would not be complete without Peter Olson operating equipment as well as Josh Perri and Les Hillier who keep everything running and help fix those machines that we can’t live without. We also have the support of some local farmers and landowners who help with the additional pasture needed for our herd. While our team is eclectic and geographically disbursed, it is the contributions of each member that makes KT Ranches.

Veterinary Expertise

Dr. Walker of PEI and Dr. Rich of Abbotsford Veterinary Clinic bring the technical expertise as an extension of the team, flushing and implanting on our farm and at their facility in Abbotsford, BC.

We held off on a female sale until we felt our herd had reach a point where we could offer elite females and still improve our herd. We are proud and excited by the females on offer and hope that they do the same for you. On behalf of everyone who is part of the KT Ranch team, thank you for considering our animals. We look forward to seeing the future impact on your programs.

Kevin & Tracey Carson

KT Countess 3342 is one of the most cherished females of the 2023 female born calf crop. Big bodied, tanky, stout, incredible teat placement and as hairy and cool looking as Angus come. She is everything we would expect from the Emerald x Countess 9026 combo. Countess 9026 has propelled herself to the very top of the donor pasture her at KT, and now has 34 calves registered with the Canadian Angus Association, including KT Countess 3357, a full sister to Countess 3342 who was the $45,000 sale highlight of the 2023 Angus Collection sale to Brooking Angus, where they had a very successful summer junior show season with her. KT Countess 3342 was the Champion female at IPE as a freshly weaned heifer calf and is a fan favourite everywhere she goes. Impeccable phenotype, 3342 is the absolute front pasture kind, that can accelerate the most discriminating programs.

Countess 9026, in the only show in Canada during covid, was crowned Supreme Champion at the Lloydminster Stockade Roundup as a bred heifer. Countess 3016 has the same power in her length, width, head and stoutness as her dam, while maintaining the same high quality maternal attributes. Countss 3016 has some of the breeds greats in her pedigree and is a female that will add some serious horsepower and maternal traits to an Angus herd.

Some of our very favorite bulls we sold this spring were South America sons including 2 full brothers to Countess 3134. South America was a bull we admired from the moment he burst on the Angus scene, and we jumped at the opportunity to buy semen out of the Coleman program. Countess 9026 was #1 on the list to get flushed to South America and it was a combination that has not disappointed.

BREEDING AI bred to KT Jack Smash 3284 on April 12, 2024. Exposed to KT Drench 0644 from April 22-July 15, 2024. Due mid March.

Two major league Panther/Countess daughters. SAV Panther was $350,000 high selling bull of the 2022 Schaff Angus Valley bull sale. We were fortunate to acquire the Canadian Semen Rights along with Brooking Angus and Canadian Sires. Panther calf reports from around the country sound very positive. We felt Panther was next level phenotype, and combined with Countess 9026 these 2 heifers are exactly what we were hoping for. Countess 4075 and Countess 4175 are power females, with huge rib, body and mass but are still elegant enough to be competitive in the showring this fall. Big league heifers with a world of potential.

Black Gold & Brooking Angus Ranch

3048

An incredible pair of flush sisters, two of our very favorites in the sale. KT Countess 1001 was an amazing Bravo/Countess female that was built about as nice as you can make one and she has passed that on to these two females. 3048 and 3097 are both destined for a donor pen. They are beautiful from end to end and good from every angle. Awesome teat spread, these two look like they are set up for next level udders. Both are safe to KT Gravity 3233, one of our real special bulls we sold this spring for $30,000 to Rocking Heart Range and Lewis Farms. Everything is right on these two females; the biggest question is which one to pick.

SAV Blackcap May 1604 is one of the most predictable and profitable Angus cows on the ranch. She was flushed as a yearling heifer and as a 3-year-old female, she has already produced 10 bulls that went through the sale last spring and a $42,500 highlight at the Angus Collection. These aren’t your grandpa’s Angus. 1604 puts some serious power into her offspring. A full brother to KT Blackcap May 2953 was the heaviest bull in the spring bull sale with a sale weight of 1760lbs. Blackcap May 2953 is a beautiful Glacier female that is as easy doing and big bodied as you can make one. Definite sale highlight and front pasture kind.

KT Blackcap May 2971 comes from one of the most successful flushes ever at KT. The South America X 1604 flush produced our lead off 4 bulls in the bull sale catalogue, and Blackcap May 3012, who was reserve senior heifer calf champion at Agribition and was the $42,500 Angus Collection highlight to Ranch Covey Hill. Blackcap 2971 has the same build as her sister, big bodied, stout made, good teat placement and good looking.

Blackcap May 3020 comes from another awesome 1604 flush. Early Arrival is a high-quality calving ease bull that can calve easy, but he is certainly more then that. Four flush mate brothers sold in out bull sale to leading cattleman from Alberta and BC. Blackcap May 3020 is picture perfect. Elegant in her lines, big bodied, stout made, with a beautiful Angus front end and head.

Blackcap May 3078 is another awesome 1604 daughter, this time by Bravo. Same type, same kind as her sisters, big bodied, stout, and cool looking. Safe to the $30,000 Gravity, this should be an exciting mating on an exciting female.

SAV Blackcap May 1604 is as predictable and profitable as they come. She is already north of $140,000 on progeny sold as a young 3-year-old. Matings to Casino and Motive will be extremely exciting and profitable.

A beautiful Blackcap May 6454 daughter with an iconic Angus look. Huge rib, square hipped, well balanced and an awesome head and neck. The Glacier females have us very excited. They are the right type and kind with excellent teat placement, we can’t wait to get them calved out. We love the pedigree; we love the phenotype, and we love the build of this female.

$7,500

A powerhouse flush by South America and SAV Blackcap May 6454. 6454 possessed incredible length of body, power and frame, and passed that through to all her progeny. KT North America 3299, a flush mate brother to these heifers was another one of the very favourite bulls that sold at the top of the bull sale to Steppler Farms. North America was a super hairy, long, stout, big bodied bull and was a good-looking dude. His flush mate sisters on offer are very much the same. Lots of power without sacrificing true Angus maternal traits. Selling 2 of 3.

A pair of stunning Renovation daughters out of SAV Blackcap May 0578, who is a full sister to the $275,000 SAV Scalehouse, and is an up-and-coming donor. A full brother, KT Reno 3038 was a fan favourite at the bull sale and sold to Hummock Springs Ranch. KT Blackcap May 3001 and Blackcap May 3002 are exactly what you hope for and expect from Renovation. They are big bodied, easy doing, highly maternal females that look like they are going have impeccable udders.

SAV Blackcap May 3212 is the biggest bodied, heaviest Angus cow on the ranch. She is an absolute truck that once you lay eyes on her it’s hard to look away. These 2 flush mate sisters have the same build as their mom, low to the ground, easy doing, huge rib, stout made, with an exquisite front end and head that we have come to expect and love from Emerald. These 2 heifers are peas in a pod and are ready to take on the world and follow in their mothers’ footsteps.

KT Blackcap May 3324 is another 3212 female that is set to follow in her mother’s pathway as a tanky, moderate, heavy-duty female that will stay fat on air. Ajax is a sire that absolutely adds muscle but can flat out build females too. 3324 is an intriguing heifer on paper and an even better one in person.

KT Tibbie 4473 and KT Tibbie 4440 are a pair of big-league Glacier x Tibbie 216C females. We get to work with a lot of great females at KT daily, and PM Tibbie 216’15 is at the top of the list. She’s as nice as you can make one and has been incredibly productive. We love everything about 216C and have mated her a lot of different ways. Glacier has worked well on a lot of different females, but the flush with 216C are some of our very favorites. These heifers are ready for the deepest competition and will be a lot of fun with a halter on or in the donor pen.

KT TIBBIE 4146

I think there’s a few times in your life when you have a gut feeling, or a love at first sight moment. The morning of the Lewis bull sale, sitting at the hotel, Toby Noble asked me if we were buying a bull today. I said I didn’t think so as I think the best one there was the Caliber son and that wasn’t really what we needed. Fast forward a couple hours, and we see Cabaret, fall in love and were very excited to by Cabaret with Black Gold and Canadian Sires. We have mated some of our favourite Angus donor cows to some of our favourite Simmy bulls and love the Sim-Angus cattle. Tibbie 4146 is as unique of female as there is in the sale. Cool looking, big, long, square hipped, well balanced, awesome headed. We love this females a lot, hopefully when you see her you will have a love at first sight moment.

KT Barb Rose 4041 is a first-rate SAV Panther daughter. Her dam Anderson Barb Rose 1513 is a tanky, moderate, good looking awesome uddered Reflection daughter. Barb Rose 4041 is another one you could for sure show, but more importantly she’s going to be an awesome uddered, big bodied, good looking donor prospect, just like the rest of her cow family.

SAV Madame Pride 8126 is another one of our absolute favorite donor females. She is perfect from every angle, with an incredible udder, huge top, rib and body, and as nice of neck and head you can put on an Angus female. Her natural calf last year, KT Gravity 3233, was absolutely awesome and was a favorite of many when they toured the bulls last spring. He was selected by Rocking Heart Range and Lewis Farms; we can’t wait to see what he does in their programs. KT Madame Pride 4092 has everything in her favor to be a future star. She is awesome on paper and even better when you see her

DAM SAV MADAME PRIDE 8126

Two gorgeous sisters by Coleman Triumph and Blairs Forever Lady 674D. 674D is about as big bodied, tanky and good looking as you can make one. We love the Napoleon daughter we have here and think they are the right kind. 3287 and 3248 are definitely the right kind too and will be beautiful cows when they calve.

44-48 An incredible group of 5 flush sisters to start off the Simmental division. This is the first offering of Black Gold Ms Hayleigh 220K, the $76,000 high selling female from the Evolution. Hayleigh 220K was a many times champion and crowd favorite on the 2022 fall show circuit. Her dam, KDP Miss Hoya Hayliegh was the U.S. Triple Crown winner and is one the most decorated Simmental show females in recent times, but more importantly has done an exceptional job in production with many champions, and sale highlights. RF Caliber is a bull that needs no introduction and is one of the most consistent and popular bulls the Simmental industry currently has, and we are very proud he calls Cherryville home. This group of 5 sisters have enough power, length, depth, hair and look to be competitive in the show ring and excel in production. 2 of the sisters have already been shown at the IPE where they were champion and reserve in their division, and the other 3 are halter broke and ready to go.

50A-G One of the most productive and successful flushed ever at KT Ranches is this Walk the Line and SVS Sage 49J flush. 49J was a $60,000 FNL highlight from Sunny Valley and has accelerated herself to the front of the line in the red donor group. 49J has a much rib, depth, top, and hip as any red cow here while maintaining a beautiful upright head and a picture perfect udder. 49J and her calf, another full sister to this flush, will be on the show road this fall and were recently named Champion Simmental female at the IPE in Armstrong. This group of 7 flushmates contains some of the best ever raised at KT. They have power, depth, muscle and elegance bred in. They will be fun to show but their true mark will be left once they hit production. A high quality group of flush sisters. Selling 4 of 7.

RF Not Just A Flirt 404B is a household name in the Simmental circles. The dam of RF Caliber, 404B is still as consistent as ever. She puts a ton of substance, frame, length, and pounds into all her calves. She is a go to donor female when we want to try out new bulls such as ES Right Time. The Right Time x 404B flush has left us an awesome set of calves, both bulls and females. Extra length, frame and look with these two heifers, and their flushmate brothers are some of the heaviest and most intriguing bulls of the 2024 calf crop.

Three full sisters to RF Caliber! Everything you would expect from 3 full sisters to Caliber, extra length, frame, power, and hair. The Structure 404B combination is a proven, predictable, and profitable one. 3 full sisters that will add potency to any breeding program.

A tanky, stout, big middled, attractive Walk The Line x 404B. We basically bred every black Simmy female on the ranch to Caliber with the exception of a few close relatives and when you can’t use Caliber, what better option then Walk The Line.

BREEDING AI bred to W2 Southside on April 12, 2024. Exposed to WFL Mr. Westway 36J from April 22-July 15, 2024. Due mid February.

Not much more needs to be said about 404B. She is as proven and consistent, as they come, a great opportunity with matings by Structure, Walk The Line and Loyalty.

Darlin’ 3199 is a daughter of the high selling R Plus Reddington. Reddington has since been identified as a definite udder and foot improver. Combined with Darlin’ 2J, the maternal side of this one should all be in check. Added to the maternal 3199, a powerhouse, big bodied female with a bright future.

Darlin’ 3206 is a super long bodied, square hipped well-balanced female with ideal teat spread. Her dam 2J is one of the most beautiful uddered females on the ranch and it looks like 3206 could follow in her footsteps.

high quality pair of Darlin’ daughters by the calving ease CLRS Guardian. Extra ordinary EPD profile, being in the top 15% for WW and YW, top 10% for CE and top 2% for BW. These moderate, tanky, cowy, good looking sisters will give you a lot of options in different mating choices.

KT Darlin’ 4236 is the combination of ES Right Time and Erixon Darlin’ 2J. 2J is possibly the most loved female on the entire ranch. 2J was a 2-time Supreme Champion of the IPE, 2 time top 10 finalist at the Agribtion Supreme, First Lady Classic Champion, and Supreme Champion at Dawson Creek. Full sister to Walk The Line and is a cow that has never had a bad day. Darlin’ 4236 is possibly the stoutest heifer calf in the sale, but still has a cool build and a nice look. Different twist on paper for a black one.

The Black Gold Tangleflags x Erixon Darlin’ 2J gets us all kinds of excited. Tangleflags looks incredible and will on display sale day, mated to 2J the possibilities are endless with this mating.

Hannibal has been a bull we have always admired on the calving ease side, not only for his ability to calve, but also to produce cattle that will have some punch and marketability. RF Chocolate Rose 234K was one of our favourites the year she sold at FNL and has knocked it out of the park in her first year of production. We see her as a rising star in the black donor program and look forward to her future. If you into black blaze faced females with frame, power, length, depth and all the extras to show, Chocolate Rose 4095 will be worth the trip to Cherryville.

SVJ She’s The Dream B796 is a real cool red baldy, Steel Force daughter and owned with Sullivan Farms and Canadian Donors. Many successful show heifers have come out of the B976 at Sullivan. 3698 is a wall balanced Caliber daughter with extra look.

KT She’s The Dream 1018 is a beautiful, good looking, awesome uddered Limitless/B796 combo. She ahs been very productive in her young life and we look forward to her doing big things. She’s The Dream 3359 is a huge, bodied Caliber daughter that will add frame, length, power and body without any maternal sacrifice.

Rose 4007 is a product of one of our favourite Sim-Angus females here. Rust Miss Rose 8415 is everything you hope for when mating a big time Angus donor to a Simmy. SooLine Rose 1019 is one of the greats in the Angus breed and her maternal excellence drives all the way through the pedigree right into Rose 4007. Cabaret will add depth, hip, shape and substance to his calves and certainly did that with Rose. A ¾ blood female with the brightest of futures.

An explosive trio of Caliber flush sisters out of MRL Miss 6683D. 6683 would be one of the biggest bodied, stoutest made heavy black Simmy donors we have at KT. With 14 registered progeny she puts muscle, width, length and pounds into all of her offspring, while maintaining good udders on the daughters we have in production. These 3 females are the kind that can produce high end bulls and front

Scream has registered 43 progeny over her lifetime, with many of the popular cattle in recent time tracing back to her at some point. Scream 3492 and Scream 3337 are two cool blaze faced Walk The Line daughters who are flushmates to some of our favourite bulls we sold last spring and flushmates to KT Scream 3296 the $30,000 Family Matters consignment that we to RickSha in Ontario. KT Gracie 3600 is another power packed Caliber daugther out o a long bodied, heavy duty Spring Creek cow. Bred early to Southside, an exciting mating on a high quality heifer.

One of out

MAF Belle 246D is a beautiful Royal Red female that was one of out picks out of the historic Meadow Acres dispersal sale. KT Belle 4028 is another of the red heifers we are extremely high on. Huge bodied, stout, deep bodied, awesome teet placement, this os one that has cow power written all over her.

KT Soda 4073 is a moderate framed, dark, tanky, Walk The Line / Soda combo. Her dam, a Captain Scream / Soda 425B was the result of a pregnant recip purchased from Black Gold. Soda 3073 would be an excellent junior project.

KT BROOKE 4271

KT Brooke 4271 is one of the definite sale highlights of the red heifer calf division. Spring Creek Brooke 68Z is one of our favourite cows to ever come out of the Spring Creek program and had produced some of the highest valued progeny ever sold at Spring Creek, Sunrise and Maxwells. Brooke 4271 is long, stout, well balanced, nice headed, and is one with imminent prosperity in her future.

There likely won’t be any more opportunities to acquire Brooke embryos. She has had progeny bring $140,000, $95,000, $50,000, $45,000, $37,500, $27,500, $ 23,000. Both the matings to Walk The Line and Loyalty will be capable to adding Brooke’s high dollar list.

KT Prairie 4217 is a good looking, big bodied, stout made Walk The Line female with a good look and cool leg. Her dam 9087 stems from Miss R Plus 6132D, a former pick of the R Plus herd. Highly maternal female and another one that would be a good junior project.

Kora 4357 is a huge ribbed, big, middled female. Her dam City View Kora is built much the same, tons of rib, big hipped, and good uddered. Another really good Walk The Line female.

Miss 7362 is without a doubt the heaviest, biggest bodied, stoutest made red Simmy cow on the ranch. She is a former sale highlight out of the McMillen Ranching female sale and has been a great addition to the red donor group. 2 really good full brothers to Flory 3301 sold in the bull sale.

Miss 7362 is a power cow in every sense of the word and is one everyone is quick to point out when touring.

KT Sammie 3135 is a big bodied, tanky, good looking Reddington/Sammie 31J combo. Sammie 31J was a $42,000 highlight of the Rose Bowl Jenna Flirt event and in another one of out absolute favorites around here. She had 2 bulls in last years sale, our high selling Simmental bull at $35,000 to Sunny Valley, and her natural calf at $12,500 to Rusylvia and Shologen. Sammie 31J is a big part of the future at KT Ranches, Sammie 3135 is a tough one to let go, but a great opportunity to add a Sammie to your donor arsenal.

WFL Sage 506C is another donor cow that certainly needs no introduction with over 140 registered calves. She is still as popular as ever. Sage 3290 is moderate, tanky, dark red, and has cow written all over her.

GSC Lucky Girl 73A is a royally bred Sure Bet out of the legendary 8543. 73A is awesome uddered, big bodied, and still good looking at 11 years of age. Lucky Girl 3481 has the same great look as her mom and is one of the hairiest bred heifers in the sale.

KT Jenna 3236 is a good looking, long bodied female, that is extended out in every direction. Extra length of spine, neck and frame. Her dam SVS Blk Jenna 736E is a beautiful Merchant daughter with a pictureperfect udder. A highly maternal female with extra power.

A beautiful ¾ blood Caliber female. The Windy Hill cows at KT are the right kind. Big bodied, awesome uddered, good looking, heavy an WHL Ruby 1684 is no exception to that. Ruby 3500 is the type of female you wish you had 100 of. No nonsense, big bodied, good looking.

Her first daughter offered for sale was the $25,000 KT Molly 2202 who turned into an incredible young donor for Premier Livestock and Lee Shologan. KT Molly 3273 has the same unique look and build as her mom and sister.

KT Pepsi 3467 is a dark red, big topped, big ribbed easy doing Walk The Line female out of the Pepsi cow family. The kind that can make bulls all day long.

KT Prairie is a long, big bodied, stout Cinch daughter. IPU Cinch 95G is a powerhouse Liner son and is on the longest bulls I have ever seen. Muscle, length, pounds, Cinch can torque up a calf crop but what is even better is the Cinch daughters in production are beautiful young females with great udders.

MADER WALK THE LINE 92J IRCC DARLIN’ 613D

We don’t have many Red Angus females around here, but the ones we do have are very good. Walk The Line bred to the Red Angus cows gave us exactly what we were hoping for in our Red Simm-Angus. These heifers are destined to make incredible cows and would be a great place to start on building a new cow family. These 2 heifer calves have cow power bred in and would have as much or more performance as any in the sale.
