Due to the recent abnormalities discovered in the Hereford breed a number of the sale lots will be designated as carriers, should they have been tested. Many of the consignors are diligently collecting samples as of press time to have submitted and tests should be conclusive by sale time. Some of the lots that are labelled as potential carriers will not be tested or results may not be back in time as each breeder has the knowledge and their own strategy to breed around these issues (which is basically using common sense). We will have full details and all sale lots will be labelled as potential or as carriers on the supplement sheet sale day. FINALLY. This cow business is an absolute thing of beauty these days after what seemed like an eternity of just eeking by. And, with this surge in the markets and what is almost assured to stay strong for quite sometime as protein demand continues to grow and North American cow herd inventories remain stagnant with little chance to grow quickly, what better time to dig your heels in deep and capitalize on these record prices and add more, superior, outcross, younger or just elite genetics to your program. And this is the place to do it. When I named this sale 23 years ago we had just come through the Jurassic, Jalapeno, Jubilee and 24 Karat era that were winning shows and more importantly producing, bringing success to everyone involved. The collective group that have combined together over those years have not for a moment let their foot off the gas and your Source for Success(S4S) rings as true today as it ever has. Locally, provincially, nationally and even internationally the cattle that come out of the third Saturday in September sale have continued to work and win for their new owners. Anybody that’s ever shown at the Royal Winter Fair can surely attest to that statement as the multitude of winners there, that come out of S4S are unmatched anywhere in the land. 2024 offers those same opportunities in spades as the heifer calf section this year is big and steamy with a number of the prospects already collecting wins. The bred females all just read production and $$$ for years to come and while the bulls are few they’re solid and last year’s feature just blew up from sale day on. If you purchase a bull calf in the Source for Success XXIII sale, you can take immediate possession or let us winter him for a fee discussed with the consignor. Insurance must be placed on the calf and payment of both wintering and insurance must be made at the time of settlement (immediately after the sale). Your purchase can be picked up next April 2025.
Delivery
Elmlodge and consignors will arrange delivery at cost to the buyer. All cattle will be available for loading as soon as they are settled for. Purchases will be looked after at no charge until delivery can be arranged.

Surely any Hereford breeder in this part of the country has witnessed the dominating presence of this standout at the summer shows. Reserve Champion overall in all breeds show at her first outing she is undefeated in division including being selected Calf Champion at Beefarama. Katie has officially aged out of the junior programs as of 2025 and knows she can’t campaign this heifer in the junior shows but also knows this fresh, futuristic, good built one will be fun wherever she shows her.
