On behalf of all of us I would like to welcome you to our annual Triple Threat Bull & Female Sale. It’s a great time to be in the beef industry where we have finally seen some great prices for our cattle at the mart.
2024 was a year of celebration for us as J.R. Graduated and him and I showcased a few cattle at Farmfair. Which we are proud to say we took home the National Grand Champion Yearling Bull banner. The same bull took the National YCS Purebred Yearling Bull banner in the summer for J.R. The company trucks saw a work filled summer and fall. The wedding of Jodi’s youngest daughter, engagement of his oldest son were also highlights of the year.
For those that are new to our program, we run approximately 125 cows which we only keep our top bulls and replacement females. The group of Commercial Heifers (Sim/An) represents 4 of our walking herdsires: Unlimited, Da’Bomb, Gibs(R Plus), Rest Easy. All are CHROMED up , with sweet dispositions.
This years select bulls I am extremely proud of. We believe in walking herdsires and select AI. Three of our older herdbulls and our two new ones are available for viewing sale day. Our bull pen have been on a cereal silage, top end hay, Country Junction soy pellet ration all in a large loafing pen. EPDs are available online thru association. We welcome any questions and bulls can be viewed anytime.

This guy has “The Goods”! A favourite of mine since a baby and just keeps impressing me the more he matures. The overall mass, width, neck extension, barrel, and lots of hip. The dam 608D is proven to be a herdbull maker, with son after son selling at our bull sale, sired by our walking bulls to AI favorites. My goal this coming summer is to get pictures of the cows, especially this lady. She laid down and had another bull on New Year’s Day. 608M is sired by one of industry leading herdbulls; Captain Scream. He has had sons and daughters topping sales all over. Here is another Captain Scream son that will impress. His dam is a very angular good footed cow that has daughters go work at Lewis Farms and Pearson Simmentals, plus in herd. Bitcoin is and has been a brute since summer. Long spined, deep ribbed and a good top and hip. His dam is one of my favourite cows as she’s built like a box. Beautiful udder and very square made with a nice big foot. His sire Wallstreet (Tycoon son) produces them long and the daughters are turning out to be awesome young cows. Bitcoin will definitely gather some attention sale day as he is all bull and will add those sought after pounds at weaning time for your calves.

Can you say “Wow He’s Dark!” . Well he is it’s not just the picture and the dam is super dark as well . Once your grabbed by his color, you will see there is quite a bull under the color. His dam is a full sister to J.R’s Reba cow that he showed. A big bodied cow with a great udder. 737E is very much like her little sister and is doing a great job in the herd. If cow families mean as much to you as they do me, you will note this cow family is based from my Lady (LFE 22Z) cow that took breed and interbreed show championships for her show career. The next in line is the Attitude family. Which 05E was one of the first red Simmentals in Canada that I was told numerous times that “ she’s a red Simmental that looks like a Simmental “. 9130 I find is a neatly made bull. Square on all four, has the length of spine , completeness and that extension through his neck that one looks for. His dam is a nicely made cow that was purchased from Westway Farms. She did a great job on this guy on only 3 quarters as her one teat got stepped on and froze end last winter. She has a daughter in production and waiting on her as I write this, and she is one of the most balanced, complete heifers on farm with a perfect udder. Looking to add some chrome to your calf crop??? Make sure you note this young man. I apologize for the tipped ears but even when I saved them at calving some lost them after they were in field in that bast of cold. Dam is a big square hipped kinda gal that is impressive to look at. A maternal sister sold last year to Dezerae and Tyler Walton and she raised a good size calf for a heifer and are very happy with her. Add the chrome, length and a strong pedigree to your program and reap the rewards.

I sure do like these Blueprint calves. They are coloured very well and they preform. Dam is a moderate framed Arsenal 2 year old that did a great job on her first calf. The Tia cow family is a family that works very well in whatever path one puts them on. 895M is the spitting image of his sire and I felt deserving of name. A bull with a bit more scale, but still has the length and top. 805 had a hiccup this fall so right now he’s playing catch up. There is no doubt tho that this guy will finally catch up and be that bull with a bit more stretch to get those cows. He has colour marked and added that length of rib to gather those pounds in fall. 805M will do a good job for his new herd just like his sire did for us.

When searching for different genetics to add to our program i came across the McDavid bull and thought I definitely had a few cows that would work. Originally I was doing it to gain females, but then I got 2 bulls, MVP and Zamboni. I was just fine with the way the cards were drawn. The 317A cow has proven her worth each year. Zambonni is a maternal brother to my lead off black bull a few years back, Hondo. Just like his brother he has some mass, scale, hip and the added bonus of some chrome. His sire McDavid has done a good job in the breed, producing the right kind . 626 comes backed by an excellent cow family “Primadonna“. Titian is a bull I like more and more. He has a nice skull, and has the neck extension that goes into a good deep, wide rib with ample hip. When I get asked if I can recommend some calving ease bulls from our program, I base my suggestions on cow family, dams consistency and confirmation of the bull. 617 fits the bill all the way. She constantly has smaller birth weights, flat, finer bone , and even with the lighter start for the calves they have growth. The dark red color will make for a nice group of calves, ones that can perform with gain from a smaller start. Siblings have sold to Cindy Mason (Oxyoke Ranch), Siroski Simmentals, and Silversmith Simmentals.

This year the 5 heifers on offer are all blazed faced and out of top end cows with good udders, feet and body type. Sires include MRL da’Bomb, Double Bar D Rest Easy, R Plus ( Gibs). These heifers have brought along on hay , grain silage in a field until mid December. It was at that time they were brought in from replacement field and now are getting a bit of grain. All have been vet checked to be open and have all reproductive parts. Any of these girls will be a great investment for anyone’s herd and now is the time to have those top end cows in the herd. It’s a great time to be in this industry.

TERMS:
Terms and Conditions
The terms of the sale are cash, cheque, and wire transfers, payable at par at the sale location unless satisfactory payment arrangements have been made prior to the sale with seller, buyer and Bohrson Marketing Services. Bohrson Marketing Services reserves the right to require a certified cheque as settlement before releasing any sale cattle. Payment in full must be made before cattle can be released and shipped. Exchange rates will be announced sale day and the sale will be held in Canadian funds.
BIDDING:
All animals to sell through the sale must be sold by auction with each animal selling to the highest bidder. Private sales will not be allowed except as otherwise provided for in the terms and conditions. No by-bidding will be permitted.
DISPUTES:
In cases of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved in the dispute. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid and the auctioneer’s decision will be final.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Any announcement from the auction block will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue. Buyers are therefore cautioned to pay attention to any such announcements.
LIABILITIES:
All persons attend the sale at the their own risk.
CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY:
A registration certificate issued by the applicable breed association and a certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer of each animal after final payment has been made.
BULL BREEDER GUARANTEE:
We guarantee our bulls to be sound, fertile, and reproductive in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Canadian Angus and Simmental Association for the first breeding season. Claims must be madeby November 1st of the year of purchase. If your bull experiences a problem, please contact us immediately and we will provide a suitable replacement if available or a sale credit. This guarantee does not cover death, injury,
mismanagement, or the bull is unable to freeze semen. Effort has been made to assure bulls are sound by ourselves and an accredited veterinarian.
IN-HERD SEMEN:
We reserve the right to draw semen for in herd use at our expense and the buyers convenience on any bull in the sale.
HEALTH:
All sale animals have met all necessary health requirements and it is the buyer’s responsibility and expense to determine health requirements for importing any animal into his province or state. Bohrson Marketing Services assume no responsibility for the health status of any animal in the sale.
PURCHASER’S RISK:
Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold.
SHIPPING:
Shipping of cattle, semen and/or embryos are the responsibility and expense of the purchaser. Purchasers are requested to provide shipping instructions at settlement on sale day.
INSURANCE:
We strongly recommend insurance for full value on all purchases.
ACCIDENTS:
Every precaution will be taken to protect the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the Sales Management, auctioneer, consignors or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability legal or otherwise in the event of accident or loss of property.
INFORMATION SUPPLIED:
The information contained in this catalogue is believed to be true and accurate. The seller has provided the information to Bohrson Marketing Services and they assume no responsibility if the information supplied is not accurate.
WINTERING/DELIVERY:
Bulls can return to consignor’s farm and be fed free of charge until April 1st, 2022 providing they are fully insured. They will be delivered prior to April 1st within 250 km from the consignor’s farm at no cost to the purchaser.
