Weeks of rain has left most of us longing for some sun on our skin and sand beneath our feet, both of which are available in abundance in Portugal. The destination has experienced a surge in popularity, yet it remains excellent value, with a unique combination of golden beaches, bustling cities and delicious local food to tempt those looking for an alternative to the more traditional Mediterranean spots.
