If you are aged 60 or over at the start of the course, you will be entitled to have your fees waived, whether you are in employment or not. You will need a bus pass, birth certificate or driving licence to enrol, as proof of your age. If you’re under 60, you may be entitled to have your fees waived for beginner type courses if you receive one of the following benefits - evidence of benefit must be dated within 3 months of enrolment date:

You may be entitled to have your fees waived for a course up to Level 2 if you:
1) Are unemployed (or earning less than £338 per month) and receive an eligible benefit and are taking the course to help you find employment or improve your current employment situation and the course is relevant to your job prospect. Evidence of benefit/s must be preferably dated within 3 months of enrolment date and not more than 6 months prior. Eligible benefits are: • JSA including National Insurance credit only • ESA (WRAG) • Income Support • Working Tax Credit • Housing Benefit • Council Tax Benefit (not single person discount) • Universal Credit - Work Preparation Group, Work Focused Interview Group, Work Related Requirement Groups
2) Work and earn less than £17,550 per year: You will need one pay slip dated within 3 months of the COURSE START DATE showing max of £1462 per month or £338 per week before stoppages (gross pay, not take home pay) or your current employment contract which states gross wage. 3) If you don’t already have a full Level 2 qualification in any subject and need to study at a lower level in order to progress to Level 2: A full Level 2 qualification is equivalent to one A Level pass, two or three AS Levels, five or more GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or an NVQ 2. There are other qualifications which are equivalent to a full Level 2 so please ask if you are unsure. You will be asked to sign a self-declaration at enrolment.

How can you pay for your course?
1) You can pay for your course in full by credit/debit card when you enrol online. You cannot currently pay online by instalments but we hope to bring this facility to you soon. 2) You can also enrol online if you do not have to pay the fees or you are using an Advanced Learner Loan to pay for the course. You will need to upload evidence of your benefits and income as applicable. 3) If you are struggling to enrol online we will have a limited number of in-college enrolment appointments available over the summer period. Please contact enrolment support at learner.hub@boltoncc.ac.uk or ring 01204 482 004 for assistance. Instalment payments may be available for in-college enrolments for courses over £150 and more than 12 weeks long. The total cost of the course is split into six equal payments. You will need to pay the first one when you enrol. If you enrol before your course starts in September the second payment will not come out until 1st October. You will need your bank card and branch details. These must be in your name. All fees must be paid before the course end date and therefore the number of instalments may be reduced. If you do not pay for your course, you will need to bring evidence of your benefit or income. In-college enrolment is by
pre-booked appointment only.

• Eligible learners may only receive one Free* course at Level 2 and one Free* course at Level 3. • If you receive free course tuition, you may still need to pay other costs such as materials or exam fees. • Some £ (full-cost) courses may be available for funding at other institutions. • The College reserves the right to cancel courses if student numbers are insufficient for them to run, and to change course qualifications if the qualification is no longer eligible for public funding.
